Chapter 610 Don't Want to Argue with You

Jesse said he wouldn't take Yasmin to court, but he was still determined to clear things up online today. Once he did, all of Yasmin's efforts would be in vain. In the worst case, her account might even get banned.

"Got any other requests?" Gavin asked for Jesse.

"When you clear things up, can you not release the footage from this room?" Yasmin asked nervously. "Just address the live broadcast."

"You want Jesse to take the fall for being a creep?" Gavin shot back.

Yasmin stayed quiet, clearly agreeing.

"You know if you don't clear this up, Jesse's gonna get roasted online, right?" Gavin said, thinking Yasmin's morals were pretty low. "Not just him, but everyone close to him will get dragged too."

"But if you clear it up, I'll be the one getting roasted." Yasmin didn't want to deal with the online hate. "You guys have money; even if people find out where you live, you can just move. I can't."

"You brought this on yourself," Gavin snapped.

Yasmin had no choice but to look at Jesse. "Jesse."

"I've said what I needed to say." Jesse was firm. "The biggest compromise is not suing you."

Yasmin teared up instantly. The next moment, she got up and left the lounge to find Eugene.

Gavin sighed and grabbed two glasses of water, handing one to Jesse. "Did she bring your dad over?"

"Yeah," Jesse replied coolly.

"If you need help, just let me know." Gavin put his arm around Jesse's shoulder, flashing a charming smile. "When it comes to PR, the Murphy Group is better than HorizonTech Group."

The Murphy Group had an entertainment company, so they were pros at handling this stuff.

Jesse nodded. "Alright."

Just then, Elara walked in.

Seeing Jesse and Gavin together, Elara rushed to Jesse's side, looking worried. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, don't worry," Jesse reassured her. "Didn't I tell you to go home?"

"Why would I go home when you're in trouble?" Elara sat down, looking around. "Where's that person who was talking trash?"

"Probably went to find my dad," Jesse guessed.

Elara held Jesse's hand. She was genuinely worried Jesse would be really upset. There were all kinds of insults online now, and some people even went to HorizonTech Group to cause trouble.

"I'm gonna ask Ms. Murphy for proof of her sponsoring me back then." Jesse planned to sort this out ASAP. "Once we have everything, we'll hold a press conference to clear things up."

Gavin paused. "Sponsorship?"

Jesse briefly explained the past events.

After listening, Gavin was surprised.

"I'll handle it for you," Gavin promised Jesse, adding, "By the way, I heard from Daphne that Alexander has taken you in as his godson?"

Jesse nodded. "Yeah."

"Then why do you still call her Ms. Murphy?" Gavin teased, "You can call her Daphne now, right?"

Jesse found it tough to change how he addressed her.

"You handle things with your dad and that streamer," Gavin said, standing up and straightening his clothes. "I'll let you know once I have the materials ready."

"Okay," Jesse agreed. "Thanks, Gavin."

After a quick exchange, Gavin left.

Meanwhile, Yasmin was in distress. With eyes red from frustration, she quickly explained the situation to Eugene. "Eugene, can you talk to Jesse for me? If he says that online, I'll get cyberbullied."

"He wouldn't dare!" Eugene promised.

Eugene didn't really get what online bullying was; he just knew Yasmin was right in saying Jesse shouldn't ignore him. If Jesse let people bully Yasmin because of her revealing stuff, Eugene would never forgive him.

"He's rich now, with a high status; there's nothing he wouldn't dare to do," Yasmin said deliberately. "Eugene, please go talk to him. I'm really scared."

"Take me there." Eugene didn't hesitate. "I need to set Jesse straight."

Yasmin immediately took Eugene there.

When the conference room door opened again, Elara and Jesse were about to leave. Seeing Eugene storming in, Elara instinctively protected Jesse, thinking at first that this man might be Jesse's father.

"Jesse, Yasmin said you're gonna let people bully her. Is that true?" Eugene confronted Jesse.

Jesse's gaze fell on Yasmin.

Yasmin, scared of him, quickly looked away.

"Jesse didn't let people bully her; she made false accusations online, exposing Jesse to public criticism," Elara defended Jesse.

Eugene looked at Jesse, frowning. After a moment, he said, "Step aside, I don't want to argue with you."

"Jesse is my boyfriend," Elara replied firmly, her eyes full of unwavering support for Jesse. "You have a misunderstanding about him, and I want to clear it up."

"I have no misunderstanding with him!" Eugene glanced at Jesse, speaking bluntly, "Just tell me if he let people bully Yasmin."

"No, he didn't," Elara blurted out.

Eugene frowned.

Elara glanced at Yasmin and explained the key point, "The girl beside you falsely accused him online, saying he sexually harassed her."

"What?" Eugene was instantly furious.

"Eugene..." Yasmin panicked.

"Is what she said true?" Eugene asked Yasmin, very concerned about reputation. "Did you really say that online?"

Eugene didn't understand many things, nor did he grasp the details. However, he knew that a man sexually harassing a woman was something he couldn't tolerate. He couldn't do it, and neither could his child, Jesse.

"I saw his hand reaching towards me and thought he was trying to harass me," Yasmin didn't realize she had crossed Eugene's line and continued. "I misunderstood him."

Eugene immediately got angry, scolding Yasmin, "How can you say this online carelessly?"

"Eugene..." Yasmin tried to say something nice.

"Don't play the victim," Eugene was extremely angry, Yasmin's actions hit his sore spot. "I thought you were like your dad, but it turns out you're just as good at lying as your mom!"
