Chapter 711 As Expected of Louis

"I don't know." Diana didn't care about these things and wasn't sure what exactly Louis wanted to do here. "I'm going out for a bit, won't be back tonight."

"Okay," Charles replied.

It was past ten in the evening.

Diana went to the hotel where Louis was staying. The first thing she asked when she saw him was if he had met Caspian.

Louis didn't hide anything. "Yes."

"Didn't we agree not to meet him?" Diana asked.

"We agreed not to interfere with your relationship," Louis corrected her. "Not that I wouldn't meet him."

Diana wanted to argue but realized he was right.

She walked a few steps inside and sat down on the sofa in the living room. "So, why did you go see him?"

"To make him face himself and seek treatment," Louis handed Diana a glass of juice, his voice as steady as ever. "And to emphasize your feelings for him."

"What did he say?" Diana asked curiously.

Louis sat across from her, meeting her gaze for a few seconds before answering, "You don't want to know."

"Just tell me."

"He wants you to give up."

After Louis said those words, Caspian remained silent.

But based on Caspian's reaction and previous answers, it was clear that what Louis said didn't have much impact. Deep down, Caspian still wanted to push Diana away.

"That does sound like Caspian," Diana commented fairly.

Louis looked at her several times before asking, "Aren't you sad at all?"

"I'm too worried about him to be sad." Diana's perspective on things was different from most people, which was why she was so optimistic. "Did he tell you why he suddenly stopped contacting me?"

"I didn't ask," Louis admitted honestly.

"Why not?" Diana asked.

Louis gave her a look, as if to say, "Why should I know so much about someone I don't even like?"

He only needed to convey his own message.

"Can you find out for me?" Diana leaned in, speaking softly to Louis, her face gentle. "If you help me figure out why he stopped contacting me, you'll be my favorite brother."

Louis stood up, looking at her with slight disdain, clearly indicating he wouldn't help.

"Will you?" Diana pressed.

"I'm going to sleep," Louis said, effectively ending the conversation. "You should leave."

"I told Charles I wouldn't be back tonight." Diana walked further inside, stopping at the door of one of the bedrooms. "This room is mine, you go sleep in that one across."

Louis didn't argue and let her have her way.

Watching him walk into the bedroom, Diana felt a bit frustrated.

Why was it so easy for Louis to handle her, but so hard for her to threaten him?

Growing up, she never had any leverage over him, which seemed so unfair.

"I'll find out the reason for you if you tell Mom and Dad about you and Caspian." Louis came out to make a deal, worried Diana wouldn't sleep thinking about it. "How about that?"

Diana agreed quickly, "No problem!"

"Go to sleep," Louis said, closing the door.

Diana smiled. "Alright."

With Louis's promise, Diana felt at ease.

She knew Louis's capabilities well. If he promised her something, he would definitely do it, no exceptions.

And indeed, Diana's thoughts were correct. By Friday afternoon, Louis had already found out the reason.

Honestly, Louis never expected Caspian to disappear on Diana for this reason.

In the hotel suite.

Diana looked at Louis, who had called her over but said nothing, her face full of confusion. "Didn't you find out? What's the reason?"

"Guess," Louis said, raising his eyes slightly.

Diana was puzzled. "You want me to guess? Now?"

"There are three reasons." Louis didn't want to waste time and listed them one by one. "When he came to Gedser to find you, you were playing games with Lon and Eddy, and he saw it."

Diana thought for a moment but gave up. They had played together too many times for her to remember.

"Wait!" Diana suddenly had a guess. "Could it be the role-playing game with Lon?"

That time, because of the game roles, Diana and Lon played a couple.

Louis nodded. "Yes."

"He thought I was with Lon?" Diana continued guessing.

Louis denied it. "No."

Diana was even more confused.

"He thought a lot of people liked you, and you had many friends," Louis explained the detailed reason, unsure how to describe it. "He felt he didn't belong in your world."

Just as Diana was about to ask for more details, she suddenly thought of Caspian's illness. "Could his illness have started back then?"

"It started even earlier. He knew you couldn't give up your friends, so he disappeared from your world," Louis explained the whole reason, somewhat understanding Caspian's actions. "To avoid losing control over his feelings for you."

Diana hugged a pillow and sighed, thinking Caspian's actions were a bit foolish.

"Now you should know the price of being with him." Louis brought the conversation back to the main point. "Do you still want to be with him?"

"How do you know all this?" Diana began to doubt the authenticity of the investigation, looking at Louis with a probing gaze. "Did you make this up?"

Finding out was understandable, but some of it was clearly Caspian's inner thoughts.

"I made some guesses," Louis, always reliable, said. "Then I talked to him, and he admitted it."

As expected of Louis, his ability was impressive.

"If you still want to be with him, given his current condition, he won't let you contact Eddy and Lon," Louis told Diana the result. "Any bit of attention you give to others will worsen his condition."

Someone like Caspian, who had already reached a paranoid state, needed his emotions to be carefully monitored.

Louis was really worried that if Diana and Caspian were together, it would end badly for both.

"I know." Diana understood.

Louis didn't immediately discuss the next steps with Diana, letting her think it over.

From this result, as long as Diana didn't insist on being with Caspian, Caspian could still force himself to live a normal life.
