Chapter 709 Louis's Unease About Diana
"They will if I don't tell them," Louis said, still holding his phone, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
Diana thought to herself, 'That makes sense.'
She pursed her lips and rephrased, "If Mom and Dad don't agree, you have to speak up for me."
Louis wondered if he hadn't been clear enough earlier.
"I know you don't agree either, but if you don't help me, the chances of them agreeing are very low." Diana understood this well. "You don't want to see me sad, do you?"
With more peers supporting her, Benjamin and Daphne would suspect there was a rift between them, making the problem easier to solve.
"You tell them yourself," Louis said before making a call.
Since it concerned Diana's future, he couldn't be careless.
"Wait!" Diana suddenly spoke up.
Louis hung up before the call connected, still doting on her.
Diana walked over to negotiate, "Can you give me a month to see how things go with Caspian?"
"The situation is already clear," Louis replied.
"These are just guesses and possibilities, they might not actually happen," Diana argued, hoping to resolve things without alarming Benjamin and Daphne. "What if Caspian doesn't do what we predict?"
"Diana!" Louis was angry.
He could indulge her in anything, but he couldn't let her take risks with herself.
Diana knew Louis was worried. "Listen to me first. After I finish, you can decide whether to agree, okay?"
Louis didn't speak, his opinion of Caspian worsening.
Louis couldn't understand why Diana liked Caspian.
"Tomorrow, I'll go to Ivrea City and talk to Caspian directly, see what he says," Diana said seriously. "Before that talk, I'll tell Charles to pick me up in the evening."
Louis didn't respond.
"Caspian respects Charles, he won't act recklessly," Diana continued. "Okay?"
"No," Louis refused outright.
"It's settled then. I'll send you a voice message every night at eleven," Diana tried to reassure Louis. "So you won't worry."
Louis still didn't understand love. "Is he the only one for you?"
"It's not that he's the only one; it's that I like him now," Diana followed her heart in everything. "I want to be with him, want him to be well."
"I won't tell Mom and Dad," Louis relented. "But you can't refuse the people I arrange for you."
Diana paused and agreed, "Okay."
"Report the situation daily."
"No problem."
"If he shows any dangerous behavior or thoughts towards you, you must tell me immediately and come back," Louis instructed in detail.
Diana agreed readily, "Okay."
Louis pursed his lips, his eyes filled with worry.
Diana moved closer to him. "Trust my intuition, Caspian is not someone who would act recklessly, he knows his limits."
"Your intuition told you Lon wouldn't like you, and what happened?" Louis said.
Diana coughed lightly. "That was an accident."
"I'll come to Ivrea City to see you in a week," Louis decided, still worried.
Diana understood Louis's concern and didn't stop him. "Okay."
After their conversation, the study fell silent.
Louis's mind was filled with worries about Diana getting hurt by Caspian, but if he disagreed, she would be upset for a long time.
"Come with me to the yard," Louis suddenly said, standing up.
Diana stood up and followed him, asking, "What for?"
Louis didn't answer, walking downstairs.
A while later, they were in the yard.
It was already dark, but the lights made it bright.
"Fight me," Louis said, his stern face showing his mood clearly. "If you can fight me for ten minutes without losing, I'll be temporarily okay with you staying with him for a week."
Diana refused without hesitation, "No."
She couldn't last five minutes, let alone ten.
Diana found an excuse, "Fighting would ruin my image."
"Are you sure?" Louis asked.
Diana nodded. "Sure."
Without warning, Louis attacked her.
Diana reflexively dodged and, after gaining some distance, said, "You attacked me by surprise. Aren't you afraid I'll tell Mom on you?"
"Go ahead." Louis stood three steps away.
Diana took out her phone. "Don't think I won't."
"How will you explain why you're home if Mom asks?" Louis reminded her kindly before she called. "Say you missed me or that you failed to win him over and came back dejected?"
Diana thought, she should have never said she'd only come back after winning Caspian over.
"Tomorrow, I'll go to Ivrea City with you." Louis changed his mind again, still worried about Diana.
Diana was puzzled. "Didn't you say you'd go in a week?"
Louis didn't respond.
He only knew Diana was his one and only sister.
Before Diana officially got together with Caspian, he needed to see what Caspian was like now.
After all, apart from brief contact in their youth, Louis hadn't seen or interacted with Caspian in years.
Diana tried to persuade him, but Louis was too stubborn to be swayed.
The only person who could persuade him, Diana didn't dare to approach.
"Fine, you can come, but you can't interfere with my relationship with him," Diana warned. "If you mess things up, I'll ruin it for you when you find someone you like."
Louis gave her a look as if to say, "How childish."
Diana emphasized again, "Did you hear me?"
"Got it," Louis replied.
After agreeing, Louis booked their tickets.
Daphne and Benjamin were surprised to hear Louis was going to Ivrea City, as the company had no projects there.
Louis didn't sell out Diana, explaining he was going to inspect a project.
Daphne didn't ask further, just told him to check on Diana after the inspection and see how she was doing.
Louis agreed to everything.
