Chapter 262 Can I take Daphne with me?

Daphne tuned her out. After a quick glance at Nina still working on the virus, she went to dry her clothes.

The clothes Nina gave her were like pajamas. They were comfy but not great for fighting.

Luckily, her clothes dried fast. While Nina was still busy, Daphne changed back and put everything in order.

When Nina finished, she noticed Daphne had changed. "Daphne, don't you like the clothes I gave you?"

"They're not good for going out," Daphne replied.

"You can sleep here. I'll talk to Michael," Nina offered.

"He won't agree," Daphne said.

"Then pick something else from my wardrobe," Nina suggested.

"No need," Daphne declined. "I'm heading out, thanks."

Nina felt uneasy. She always thought Daphne saw her as a troublemaker, and her distant attitude was even colder now.

With the virus dealt with, Nina followed her out.

Michael frowned when he saw them. "What took so long?"

"My fault," Nina admitted. "My teacher planted a virus in my computer and tracked me. She probably knows where we are now."

"K?" Michael asked.

Nina nodded. "Yeah."

Michael instinctively looked at Daphne.

Nina's computer got hacked right after Daphne left. Could it be...

"My computer was hacked when she was with me," Nina clarified. "It wasn't her."

If she explained more, everyone would think she was a troublemaker. She cared about her image.

Kayla looked over, surprised at how Daphne managed it.

Daphne never said she was K, but given past events, she was.

"Did you find her location?" Michael asked.

"I can't," Nina said confidently. "Didn't I tell you? I always win against others, but against her, I always lose."

The King of Hackers was no joke—top-tier stuff.

Michael's eyes were unreadable. In the end, he said nothing.

No one could beat K in computer skills, but without a computer, she was just a regular person.

Thinking of this, Michael took out his phone and sent a message.

Compared to the slightly relaxed atmosphere here, the others were in a different scene.

After getting Daphne's message about Butterfly Island, Emma and the others flew there immediately. Evan and Kevin also got ready.

Benjamin started contacting people.

Charles got a text from an unknown number. Even though it was a virtual number, he knew it was from Daphne.

Seeing she was safe, he felt relieved.

The sea wind was cold. Charles, wearing just a shirt, was shivering but didn't leave.

After reading Daphne's message, he made a call. When it connected, he asked, "Have you located Daphne?"

"Yes," the person on the other end answered cheerfully. "She's on Michael's ship. Based on their route, there are three possible destinations: Butterfly Island, Cloud Island, and Civilia City. We don't know exactly where Daphne is headed yet."

"No matter the final destination, I just want her to be safe," Charles emphasized.

The person on the other end promised, "No problem."

The call ended.

Charles felt a bit more at ease.

Michael's team was closely monitoring everything, so his call was quickly reported to Michael.

Michael asked Nina to check who Charles was calling.

She couldn't find out.

"Didn't you say that except for K, no one else is a match for you?" Michael felt Nina was messing with him.

"The person Charles was talking to is either my teacher or someone my teacher encrypted," Nina said confidently. "Based on the interception I encountered, it should be someone my teacher helped early on. She designed an extremely secure phone system for them."

Michael was speechless.

Daphne fell into thought. She hadn't helped many people, but she did sell a highly secure phone system. She only sold it to five people. Could Charles be connected to those people?

"Are you sure the person he contacted isn't K?" Michael asked.

"I'm sure," Nina said confidently. "If it were my teacher, she would probably contact him through messages."

"Check who your teacher sold that system to and their backgrounds," Michael quickly responded. "Once you find out, give me the information."

Nina, feeling helpless, stood there without moving.

Michael raised an eyebrow. "Why aren't you checking?"

"I can't check anything related to my teacher," Nina told him honestly. "No one can trace her transactions."

Michael stared at her, swirling his wine glass.

After a while, he seemed to accept it. "If you can't find out, forget it. Once we reach Sparkle Isle, whether she comes or not doesn't matter much."

Once there, he could do his thing with peace of mind.

Even if K came, she couldn't do much.

Michael put down his wine glass. "Nina, come with me."

Nina stood up and followed him to the deck. She placed her hand on the railing, feeling the wind, and asked, "Why did you call me here?"

"When we reach Sparkle Isle, take a yacht and leave." Michael looked at the sea, his emotions unreadable. "I've arranged everything. After that, it's no longer your concern."

Nina asked, "Can I take Daphne with me?"

Michael refused, "No."

"Alright." Nina didn't insist or ask further.

This was one of the main reasons Michael had cooperated with her for so long.

Kayla watched them standing by the ship, biting her lip. Finally, she had a chance to talk to Daphne alone. "Daphne, I'm sorry."

"You did well." Daphne's voice was soft, just enough for Kayla to hear.

In that situation, it was already remarkable that Kayla considered her.

Kayla's eyes reddened instantly. She was really afraid Michael would go after Daphne and recognize her identity.

"If there's danger later, don't worry about me. Just leave," Daphne instructed. She didn't know what awaited her, but Kayla couldn't be harmed.

"What about you?" Kayla asked.

"I have someone to help me," Daphne explained.

Kayla was still worried, but she knew she had to listen to Daphne.

Daphne had thought about capturing Michael on the ship and threatening his people to sail to where Emma and the others were. It would be straightforward.

However, she also considered Michael's personality.

He would probably rather sink the entire ship than let her succeed.
