Chapter 688 Meeting

It was very easy for Charles, the chairman of the company, to get someone hired.

The recruitment director didn't say anything, assuming Diana was a friend of Charles or something. He agreed with a simple "okay."

With Charles accompanying her, Diana went to fill out the employment form.

The recruitment director was nervous the whole time. When he saw the name Diana, he felt desperate. Wasn't she the one Caspian specifically instructed not to let into the company?

What was going on? What was the relationship between Diana, Caspian, and Charles?

"Is there a problem?" Charles noticed his expression and asked slowly.

"No." The recruitment director didn't dare to say there was a problem and forced a smile. "I just think it's a pity for someone with her high education and work experience to apply for a secretary position."

Could it be that she was interested in Caspian? But that didn't make sense. Someone personally brought in by Charles shouldn't have a low status.

"All done." Diana finished filling out the form, smiled slightly, and handed it to him. "To be honest, I feel a bit shameless. I submitted my resume last week and didn't get through, so here I am again."

The recruitment director almost wanted to cry. He thought this matter was over.

"There shouldn't be any problem with her resume. Why didn't it even get through the screening?" Charles asked.

"Mr. Garcia happened to say we weren't hiring that day she submitted her resume," the recruitment director explained, knowing he couldn't offend either side. "So, there was no response. That was my oversight."

"Be more careful next time." Charles knew it was Caspian's instruction and didn't blame him.

To avoid company gossip, Charles told the recruitment director as he was leaving with Diana, "By the way, this is Daphne and Benjamin's daughter. Don't say anything you shouldn't."

After so many years, many people in the company had retired, and most were new hires.

Young people always liked to gossip. Charles didn't want any negative comments about Diana in the company. Of course, it was also to make her pursuit of Caspian smoother.

The recruitment director knew who Daphne and Benjamin were.

"Weren't you supposed to keep my identity a secret?" Diana whispered to him, feeling that Charles wasn't keeping his word.

Charles looked matter-of-fact. "Did I expose it?"

"What do you think?"

"I only mentioned Daphne and Benjamin, without mentioning your name."

"You win." Diana sighed silently, knowing she couldn't win an argument with him.

"You're a newcomer, and the internal competition in the company is quite fierce," Charles told her directly, making it clear. "You're applying for the position of Caspian's personal secretary, so it's inevitable that people in the same department will talk about you."

"I don't care." Diana didn't mind these things.

She was just here to pursue Caspian, and this position didn't require much interaction with other colleagues.

So, resigning after getting hired wouldn't affect the company or the department much. The only people affected would be Caspian and his current assistant.

After all, Diana would be directly dealing with them.

"Then go meet your direct supervisor." Charles saw Diana's eyes wandering and knew what she was thinking. "He should have just finished a meeting and returned to his office."

Diana's lips curled into a smile. "Okay!"

A moment later, Charles brought Diana to Caspian's assistant's office.

Diana looked at the people in the office and then at Charles. "Where's the direct supervisor you mentioned?"

Charles replied calmly, "This is it."

"This is the new personal secretary." Charles brought Diana in and instructed the young assistant, Alvin Jordan, "From now on, all of Mr. Garcia's personal matters will be handled by her."

Alvin appeared calm. "Okay."

In fact, his heart was racing. Wasn't this the girl on Caspian's phone wallpaper?

"You take her to get familiar with Mr. Garcia." Charles didn't want to interfere with the young people's matters, knowing Alvin was reliable. After all, Alvin was personally trained by Mark.

Alvin was very nervous. "Okay."

"I'll wait for you in the lounge," Charles told Diana.

Diana nodded.

Seeing they had finished talking, Alvin naturally led Diana to Caspian's office, occasionally glancing at her.

"What's wrong?" Diana noticed his frequent glances and asked naturally. "Is my outfit inappropriate?"

"No, I just think you look familiar." Alvin didn't avoid her question and answered seriously. "I just remembered I saw one of your speeches when I was in school. It was excellent."

"Thank you." Diana knew it was just a polite remark.

Alvin didn't say anything more. When they reached the door of Caspian's office, he took a deep breath and knocked.

After about two or three seconds, a clear voice came from inside, "Come in."

This was the first time in years Diana had heard Caspian's voice. It had changed from the youthful tone she remembered, becoming colder and more mature.

Alvin opened the office door and led Diana in.

Caspian, sitting in his chair, was wearing a white shirt, with his tie neatly tied at the collar. His face, which had been handsome since childhood, was now even more flawless.

At this moment, Caspian was lying back in his chair with his eyes closed, his long, slender fingers pinching the bridge of his nose.

"This is the new personal secretary." Alvin gave a brief introduction and explained why she was there. "Mr. Lancelot asked me to bring her in to get familiar with the work process."

Caspian's hand paused, as if he had been frozen.

After about two or three seconds, he put down his hand and looked in Diana's direction.

"Hello." Diana smiled at him, her healing smile unchanged from before. "I'm Diana, your new personal secretary."

At that moment, Caspian felt a strong visual impact. If not for his strong self-control, his wildly beating heart would have been evident.

Caspian pressed his lips together, keeping his distance from her. "Why are you here?"

"To work," Diana replied naturally.

Caspian's hand, resting on his leg, tightened slightly, his clear voice carrying a chill, "Your family owns a company. Why work here?"
