Chapter 752 Be Loyal to Each Other

"When do you plan to go back with me to see my father?" Lyra put the agreement aside and looked at Louis. "The things my mom left me are still with them."

Louis glanced at the time on his phone. "Anytime before Diana's engagement, you can pick a time."

"Tomorrow?" Lyra asked tentatively.

Louis agreed. "Okay."

"Alright." Lyra and Louis had very similar personalities; both spoke directly without beating around the bush. "I'll make the arrangements."

Louis responded with a sound.

Since they were partners, he would support her all the way.

"They don't really like me." Lyra straightforwardly told him about her family situation, her voice carrying a hint of coldness. "Living with my dad now are his mistress and her daughter."

"I know, I've looked into it," Louis replied frankly.

Since they were going to get married, he naturally investigated her background thoroughly.

He also knew that the woman his dad married was a mistress who successfully climbed the ranks.

"One more thing," Lyra said hesitantly.

Louis was concise. "Go ahead."

"I've endured a lot from them over the years. The mistress and her daughter often provoke me." Lyra explained the situation clearly, as both of them were used to laying things out openly. "When we go tomorrow, stay behind me and back me up."

Louis's brows furrowed in thought.

Lyra asked directly, "What's wrong?"

If it wasn't possible, she wouldn't force it.

After all, they were just partners, not truly significant to each other.

"Should we get the marriage certificate first?" Louis was a thorough and responsible person. "As a married couple, it would be more impactful to humiliate them."

"Diana hasn't agreed yet." Lyra didn't want her matters to affect the relationship between the siblings and his family. "She hasn't prepared herself for me marrying you."

"She has agreed." Louis understood his sister well. "Just invite her for a meal next time she comes back."

"What about your parents?" Lyra asked again.

Louis thought for a moment and replied, "They don't really interfere with my marriage."

"It might be better to meet them first and then take your time considering getting married and registering for the certificate." Lyra, having something to ask of Louis, naturally considered things more comprehensively. "If any changes occur, it would save us the trouble of divorce."

"Okay." Louis didn't insist.

That afternoon.

He took Lyra to buy a pair of rings.

Their speed of getting together was similar to many people who go home for blind dates and get married at the end of the year.

"Louis." Lyra called out to him after leaving the jewelry shop, still holding the diamond ring he gave her.

Louis stopped and waited for her, his gaze showing concern for a friend. "What's wrong?"

"Although I really want to marry you and have you as my support," Lyra was a particularly rational person and would clarify things at the last moment, "I want to ask you again, do you really intend to marry me?"

"Yes," Louis replied.

He had never been interested in romantic matters.

But Lyra's research in various fields matched his exceptionally well.

They were surprisingly similar and just needed a marriage partner. Since that was the case, there was nothing wrong with it.

"If you ever find someone you like in the future, just tell me." Lyra laid out any potential issues between them. "I'll initiate the divorce and let you pursue the person you like."

"No need." Louis was very rational about these matters. "Even if it's a partnership marriage, I will be loyal to our marriage."

Lyra paused.

She didn't expect his thoughts to align so closely with hers.

Seeing her silence, Louis added, "The prenuptial agreement states that if I betray our marriage for any reason, all my assets will go to you."

A partnership marriage, a companion marriage, was still a marriage.

Marriage wasn't a joke. Once decided, both parties should be loyal to each other.

"Same here." Lyra appreciated him even more and extended her hand. "Happy cooperation."

"Happy cooperation." Louis shook her hand.

That night.

They reviewed the prepared prenuptial agreement, and after confirming there were no omissions, they handed it over to the lawyer.

Their prenuptial agreement was legally binding. Since it was a partnership and didn't involve having children, the main content of the agreement was the division of pre-marital and post-marital assets.

Lyra glanced at the time; it was already past nine in the evening.

Thinking about certain issues after marriage, Lyra took the initiative to say, "If..."

Louis was puzzled.

"If after marriage you find out you're not asexual, you can be honest with me." Lyra considered all possibilities and was very straightforward. "If I remain the same, we'll part ways amicably. If I change too, we'll discuss it further."

"Okay." Louis didn't say much.

Asexuality was a conclusion he reached after being an adult and undergoing examinations.

Life was long.

He wasn't sure if he was 100% asexual.

"You too," Louis added.

Lyra responded with a sound.

After finalizing the matter, Louis took out the property deed from the room and handed it to her, maintaining his usual noble and indifferent demeanor.

Lyra was slightly puzzled. "What is it?"

"A gift to celebrate our partnership." Louis handed it to her, the transfer procedures already completed. "It's only 1100 square feet, three bedrooms and two living rooms."

Lyra paused, not expecting to receive a gift in a partnership.

Most importantly.

Wasn't this gift a bit too valuable?

"We don't need to go through these formalities." Lyra didn't accept it immediately but discussed it with him.

"Even if you're just my nominal partner, I have the responsibility and obligation to treat you well." Due to Benjamin and Daphne's loving relationship, Louis was very responsible in such matters. "Except for love, everything else is the same as a normal couple."

Lyra's usually calm emotions showed a slight fluctuation.

It seemed she accidentally partnered with a warm-hearted man.

"Would you like to reconsider this partnership?" Lyra realized her understanding of Louis had changed. "With your personality, there would be many girls chasing after you."

She used to think Louis was capable, had the same research direction as her, was taciturn, and good-looking.

Naturally, she assumed he was a workaholic.

But now she realized that although he was a workaholic, he never fell short in treating people well.

"Comparing all aspects, you're the most suitable for me." Louis only said this.

Lyra agreed with this statement but still asked him one last question, "No regrets?"

"No regrets." Louis had never truly regretted his decisions.
