Chapter 104 Let Her Have a Few More
Sharon's eyes widened in surprise. "What surprise?"
"If I tell you now, it won't be a surprise, will it?"
"Alright then."
After buying clothes, they were about to leave when they unexpectedly ran into Ava and Clara.
They were loaded with bags, looking like they were shopping, too.
Clara snapped at Sharon, "What are you doing here? It's late. Shouldn't you be home? You can't afford that dress even if you worked a year. Alex works hard to earn money, and you just spend it."
Clara's eyes were practically shooting daggers at Sharon. If Sophie hadn't been there, Clara wouldn't have let Sharon off for seducing Seb.
Sophie didn't expect Clara to be so harsh to Sharon in private. She sneered and was about to speak, but Sharon stopped her.
"Mrs. Clark, it seems like the money you and Ms. Kim spend is also earned by Alex. It's understandable for you as his mother, but the part Ms. Kim spends, I do have the right to reclaim."
Clara and Ava's faces changed.
"Sharon, I am happy to spend money on Ava. If you can get pregnant, I can spend money on you, too!"
Sharon smiled coolly. "Since Ms. Kim loves having children so much, ask her to have a few more. Otherwise, there will be no one to inherit the Smith family's money."
"You..."
Clara was speechless in rage, her face turning red with anger. She didn't expect Sharon to dare disrespect her in public.
"Apologize to me immediately, or I'll call Alex and have him teach you the Smith family rules."
Sharon raised an eyebrow. "The Smith family rules are that the husband has children with his mistress, and the mother-in-law takes the mistress shopping while mocking his legal wife?"
"I didn't expect you to be so sharp-tongued. If I had known, I wouldn't have let Alex marry you!"
"Ms. Clark, talking about the past is pointless. It only shows that you are powerless against me now."
Clara was so angry she almost fainted. Every word from Sharon made her furious, and she wished she could shut Sharon's mouth immediately.
Ignoring Clara, Sharon pulled Sophie away.
Outside the mall, Sophie couldn't help but complain.
"Is Clara crazy? If you hadn't stopped me, I would have cursed her out."
Sharon's expression was calm. "She's always like this. Just ignore it."
"I can't believe it. Doesn't Alex care?"
"He's constantly plotting ways to get a stake in the company, there's no way to deal with something like that."
Sharon no longer had any expectations for Alex, so she didn't feel sad.
Sophie sighed and said nothing more.
After all, it was Sharon's marriage. If she didn't want to leave, she must have her reasons.
Sharon returned home after ten at night.
Alex hadn't been back yet. Sharon went straight to the bedroom to shower and prepared for bed.
Just as she finished drying her hair, there was a knock on the bedroom door.
Sharon opened the door. "What's up?"
"Mom told me about tonight. It won't happen again."
It seemed Clara had complained to Alex.
Sharon nodded. "Okay. If there's nothing else, I'm going to sleep."
Alex noticed Sharon's coldness, his eyes darkening. After a moment of silence, he said softly, "I have a business trip tomorrow. I might not make it back for your birthday. What do you want as a gift? I'll prepare it in advance."
In the past, no matter how busy he was, Alex would cancel all work on Sharon's birthday.
But recently, too much had happened at the Smith group. As the general manager, he had to prioritize the company.
Sharon didn't feel disappointed. She lowered her eyes and said, "I don't want anything. It's okay if you don't get me anything."
Alex frowned. "Then I'll prepare something according to my previous idea."
"Okay."
The two fell silent. Alex looked at Sharon's delicate face, hoping she would tell him to take care as she used to, but Sharon just lowered her eyes, showing no intention to speak.
Finally, Alex stopped expecting.
"I have some work to handle. Good night."
With that, Alex turned and left.
He returned to his study and had just sat down when he received a call from Joseph.
"Mr. Smith, I checked. Ms. Kim's father indeed needs a kidney transplant, but there's no suitable donor yet. So, he's still in the ICU."
"Got it. Send someone to find a donor."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Alex thought for a moment and decided to keep the donor for Robert.
After all, Sharon was more important to him.
The next morning, as soon as Sharon arrived at the company entrance, Emily stopped her.
"Ms. Wright, can we talk?"
Sharon was a bit surprised. Sophie had just mentioned last night that Emily might come to find her, and here she was, blocking her this morning.
"We don't seem to have much to talk about."
She tried to walk past Emily, but Emily persistently followed.
"Ms. Wright, it was my fault at the party. I'm apologizing again. Can you ask Mr. Smith to let BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group off?"
Previously, BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group had terminated their contracts with the Smith group. The Smith group didn't react or make Sharon apologize, so they also terminated their contract with Silvercrest Group, only to be tricked by Silvercrest Group.
Now, BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group had lost several major deals, their market value had dropped by billions, and it was still falling.
Emily had no choice but to beg Sharon.
Sharon looked at Emily coldly. "If I remember correctly, it was BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group who wanted to terminate the contract with Silvercrest Group. I have no shares or position at Silvercrest Group, just an ordinary employee. Do you think I have enough influence to make Mr. Smith let BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group off?"
Emily gritted her teeth. Sharon clearly didn't want to help.
Yet before coming, Stanley Young had warned Emily that no matter how difficult Sharon was, she had to ask for Sharon's help.
Emily forced a smile. "Ms. Wright, Mr. Smith is your Uncle Sab, and he stood up for you at the party. If you persuade him, he will agree."
Sharon found it amusing. Emily had schemed against her before, and now she wanted her help.
Was she taking Sharon for a fool?
"Our relationship isn't good enough for me to speak on your behalf to Mr. Smith. Isn't Miss Walker your good friend? Instead of wasting time with me, you should ask Miss Walker. She can definitely help you."
With that, Sharon ignored Emily and walked away.
Emily stared at Sharon's back, filled with humiliation and anger.
She had lowered herself to beg Sharon, but Sharon treated her like this.
'That bitch Sharon!' she cursed inwardly.
Once BioTech Innovations Group and the Young group got through this crisis, Emily would make Sharon pay the price!
In a parked Maybach nearby, Seb's expression was cold. "Warn the Young family not to harass Sharon again, or they'll face the consequences."
