Chapter 608: I Will Never Forget This Day

Electra reached for the phone on the table, but just before her fingers touched it, Delbert snatched it away.

Electra glared at Delbert, tears welling up in her eyes, her expression defiant.

"Give me back my phone!"

Delbert took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "Electra, it's not too late to turn back now. If you sent Saul to get close to Sophie, tell him to stop."

Electra nodded, "Fine, you won't believe me no matter what I say. Let's just say I did send Saul to get close to her. What are you going to do? Tell Randy?"

Delbert remained silent, unsure of what to do. He hadn't considered what he would do if it turned out Electra had indeed sent Saul to get close to Sophie. Should he tell Randy or pretend he didn't know anything?

"Whether or not you sent him, you need to contact him and tell him to stop seeing Sophie. If Randy finds out about your connection, he won't believe any explanation you give."

Electra looked at him with disappointment. "So, you don't believe me either, do you?"

"I want to believe you, but..."

"Enough! Just leave. I don't want to see you anymore."

"Electra."

"Go! Just go! If you don't believe me, we shouldn't see each other again."

Electra's eyes reddened, tears streaming down her face. She wiped them away and turned her head, refusing to look at Delbert.

The room fell silent, neither of them speaking. After a long while, Delbert placed Electra's phone back on the table and left.

As the door closed, Electra couldn't hold back any longer. She swept everything off the cabinet onto the floor.

Delbert stood outside the door for a moment before walking away.

Meanwhile, after dinner, Sophie drove Saul back to Serenity University. Saul seemed hesitant to speak the entire ride. When they arrived at the university entrance, he finally turned to Sophie.

"Sophie, you mentioned you had something for me at the restaurant. What is it?"

Seeing the curiosity in his eyes, Sophie smiled, "Get out of the car first."

Saul pursed his lips, "You're not going to drive off as soon as I get out, are you?"

Sophie couldn't help but laugh, "No, I won't."

"Alright, I trust you."

After Saul got out, Sophie followed and opened the trunk. Saul's eyes widened when he saw it filled with the clothes he had helped Sophie pick out at the mall.

"Sophie, these clothes..."

"They're all for you."

"Why? You said they were birthday gifts for a friend."

Sophie pulled out a small cake from behind her and handed it to Saul.

"Yes, you are that friend. Did you forget your own birthday?"

Saul was momentarily stunned, realizing Sophie must have seen his ID. His ID showed his birthday as today, but his real birthday was over two months away, and he never celebrated it.

Seeing Saul's silence, Sophie raised an eyebrow, "What's wrong? Did I get it wrong?"

Pulled back to reality by her voice, Saul shook his head, "No, you got it right. It's today."

"Then make a wish."

Sophie lit the candle and handed the cake to him. Saul's eyes showed a mix of emotions as he clasped his hands together and closed his eyes to make a wish. Afterward, he blew out the candle.

"Sophie, thank you."

"No need to thank me. I'm curious, though. What did you wish for?"

Saul smiled slightly, "If I tell you, it won't come true."

"Alright, here's your birthday gift."

Seeing the black box Sophie handed him, Saul was surprised, "I thought the clothes were the gift."

"Those are just extras. This is the real gift."

Saul carefully untied the ribbon and opened the box, his eyes widening in shock.

"What's this?"

Inside the box lay a key.

"I bought you a house near the university. Now you won't have to live on campus."

Saul quickly closed the box and handed it back to Sophie, "Sophie, this is too much. I can't accept it."

The clothes were already a generous gift, but a house worth millions was too much for Saul to accept.

"Our company has a partnership with the developer. The house was a gift from them, so it didn't cost anything. You don't need to feel burdened."

Saul shook his head, "Sophie, I really can't accept it. The clothes are more than enough. Please take it back."

Despite the house being a gift, Saul couldn't accept it, especially given his ulterior motives for getting close to Sophie.

Seeing Saul's insistence, Sophie reluctantly took the box back.

"Alright."

With Sophie taking back the key, Saul finally felt relieved.

"Sophie, thanks for celebrating my birthday. I'll never forget today."

"It's no big deal. It's getting late. You should head back."

Sophie packed up the cake and handed Saul the clothes from the trunk.

"Can you carry all this?"

"Yeah, I got it. Thanks."

"Stop thanking me. Go on."

Sophie watched Saul walk into the university before driving away.

Back in his dorm, Saul received a call from Electra.

"How are things progressing with Sophie?"

Saul looked at the clothes on the floor and the cake on the table, then walked to the balcony.

"Pretty good."

Electra sneered, "Saul, I don't want to hear that. When are you going to sleep with Sophie and get me some real evidence?"

"She still won't let me get close to her. It'll take more time to build the relationship."

"You have ten days until your cheating mother's next medical bill is due. If I don't get what I want in ten days, you'll have to figure out the payment yourself."

With that, Electra hung up.

Saul put away his phone and stood on the balcony for a long time before returning to his room.

As soon as he sat down, his roommate approached him, "Saul, is it your birthday today? Why did you get a cake?"

Saul glanced at the cake, "No, I just felt like eating it."

He picked up the cake and handed it to his roommate, "I don't feel like eating it anymore. You guys can have it."

"You're the best! I won't say no!"

His roommate took the cake but noticed Saul still holding the ribbon.

"I've got it. You can let go. I promise it won't fall."

Saul's grip tightened slightly before he slowly let go.

"Okay."

His roommate took the cake and invited the others to join in. They even saved a piece for Saul, but he didn't touch it all night.

Over the next few days, Randy visited Sophie at the Lee Group daily, sometimes bringing food, sometimes flowers. Sophie was annoyed and repeatedly told him to stop bothering her, but Randy persisted, so she eventually gave up.

On Friday evening, Sophie left the office and saw Randy's car parked nearby. She had grown accustomed to seeing him every day and ignored him as she walked to her car.

Just as she reached her car, Randy called out, "Sophie."

Sophie turned to him, "What do you want?"

"Are you free tonight?"

"No, I have plans."

Randy's expression changed, "With Saul?"

Sophie frowned, "Does it matter? I don't need to report to you."

Before he could respond, his phone rang. Seeing it was his secretary, Randy hesitated but answered.

"What is it?"

Whatever was said made Randy's expression change, and he quickly replied, "Got it. I'll be right there."

Ending the call, Randy looked at Sophie, "Sophie, I have to go. When will you be free?"

"Go handle your business. I'll let you know when I'm free."

Randy frowned, sensing Sophie was brushing him off, but the urgent matter at the company couldn't wait.

"Sophie, I'll leave now. Drive safely."

After Randy left, Sophie drove to see Sharon.

"Sharon, how can I get Randy to stop bothering me?"

Thinking about Randy waiting for her every day, Sophie felt frustrated. She hadn't decided whether to reject him or give him another chance, but his persistence was annoying.

Sharon raised an eyebrow, "Didn't you say you'd consider it if he went a month without seeing Electra?"

"But I don't want to be bothered by him for a month."

"Then just ignore him or work from home for a while. He won't come to your house, right?"

Sophie nodded, "Why didn't I think of that? I'll start working from home tomorrow!"

After a while, Sophie noticed Sharon seemed tired and decided to leave.

After Sophie left, Sharon returned to the couch, feeling sleepy. She soon fell asleep.

Seb came out of the study and saw Sharon asleep on the couch. He quietly walked over and picked her up, carrying her upstairs.

Since becoming pregnant, Sharon often felt tired, sometimes even yawning during meals.

Seb carried Sharon to the bedroom, tucked her in, and left the room.

Downstairs, Demetrius proudly showed Seb his latest drawing.

"Dad, look at my drawing! The teacher asked us to draw our family."
