Chapter 403 How to Guess Your Thoughts?

"I'm not kidding!" Seb said.

"Whatever. Aubrey, just look ahead and see if there's a pharmacy, then pull over," Sharon replied.

Aubrey nodded and soon stopped at an intersection. "Ms. Roach, there's a pharmacy right here."

"Alright," Sharon said.

She turned to Seb and said, "I'll go grab the medicine. You stay here."

Seb wanted to protest, but seeing the worry in her eyes, he held back and nodded, "Okay."

Sharon got out of the car and headed towards the pharmacy. Just as she reached the entrance, she accidentally bumped into a delivery person rushing out, causing the medicine in his hand to scatter on the ground.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to," Sharon apologized.

The delivery person bent down to pick up the medicine when a surprised voice came from beside her.

"Ariana?"

Ariana looked up and saw Sharon, a flash of panic crossing her face. "Sharon."

"You left right after work today just to deliver food?"

Ariana picked up the medicine from the ground, avoiding Sharon's gaze, "Sharon, this order is about to be late. I'll explain tomorrow."

Sharon frowned, but before she could say anything, Ariana hurried away.

She quickly walked to the motorcycle parked by the roadside, put the medicine in the delivery box at the back, and rode off.

It wasn't until Ariana's frail figure disappeared from view that Sharon turned and walked into the pharmacy.

After buying the anti-inflammatory ointment, Sharon returned to the car, deep in thought.

As soon as the car door closed, Sharon met Seb's curious gaze. "What were you talking about with that delivery person?"

Because of the distance, Seb hadn't seen what the other person looked like and didn't know it was a woman.

Sharon was momentarily stunned, then shook her head, "Nothing. Let me put the medicine on you first."

She opened the ointment, pulled Seb's right hand in front of her, and gently massaged the ointment onto his arm.

Seeing her distracted look, Seb frowned and pulled his hand back, "No need to rub it in, it's almost done."

"Okay," Sharon said.

The car fell silent. Sharon put away the ointment, her head lowered, lost in thought.

Seb's face darkened, and he coldly ordered Aubrey to drive.

Seeing Seb's gloomy face in the rearview mirror, Aubrey felt his hands tremble, and he quickly started the car.

All the way to the villa, Seb and Sharon didn't speak, and the temperature in the car seemed to drop.

Sharon kept wondering why Ariana was delivering food. Was she short of money recently? Had Ariana already spent the money she borrowed from her?

As Sharon pondered whether to transfer some money to Ariana tomorrow, Seb interrupted in a deep voice, "How long do you plan to sit in the car?"

Sharon snapped back to reality and realized the car had stopped at the villa entrance, and Aubrey had already left the driver's seat.

"Sorry, I got lost in my thoughts."

"What were you thinking about so seriously?"

"Nothing important. Let's get out."

With that, she opened the car door and got out first.

Seb followed her, his face looking a bit unpleasant.

As soon as they walked into the living room, Dana came up to them. Seeing Seb's cold face, Dana quickly asked, "Mr. Smith, did something happen? Why do you look so upset?"

Hearing this, Sharon, who was walking ahead of Seb, also turned to look at him, her eyes filled with confusion.

Seb's face stiffened, and he looked away awkwardly, "Nothing."

"Is your arm still hurting?"

Sharon tried to check Seb's arm, but he pulled away. "It's fine. Let's just get ready for dinner."

He didn't look at Sharon and walked straight to the dining room.

Sharon frowned. Seb seemed to be acting a bit off towards her.

She thought back carefully and realized his attitude had changed after she returned to the car from the pharmacy.

Sharon thought, 'Could it be because I didn't tell him about Ariana, and he was sulking?'

During dinner, Seb only talked to Demetrius. Unless Sharon spoke to him first, he didn't even glance at her.

After dinner, seeing Seb heading to the study, Sharon quickly caught up with him. "Seb, wait, I need to talk to you."

His tone was a bit cold, "What is it?"

Sharon looked up at him, "Are you mad at me?"

Seb avoided her eyes, "No."

"Then why did you only talk to Demetrius during dinner and not to me?"

"You're overthinking it."

Seeing his indifferent expression, Sharon felt a surge of frustration, "If something's bothering you, just say it. Bottling it up will only make you feel worse and strain our relationship."

"Really, it's nothing."

Sharon's anger flared at his indifferent attitude.

"You always do this, keeping everything to yourself. How am I supposed to guess what you're thinking?" Her voice rose slightly, tinged with grievance.

Seb frowned slightly, seemingly realizing his attitude was problematic.

He sighed softly and pulled Sharon into his arms, "Don't be mad. I was just jealous because I saw you talking to another man, and you wouldn't tell me what you said."

Sharon's eyes widened, "Just because of that? You're too narrow-minded."

Seb smiled wryly, "I know I was wrong. It won't happen again."

Seeing his sincere expression, Sharon felt her anger dissipate.

"Who told you the delivery person was a man?"

Seb frowned, "If it wasn't a man, then..."

Realizing something, Seb frowned deeply, "The delivery person was a woman?"

Sharon nodded, "Yes, and I know her."

Seb fell silent. Because he hadn't expected to be jealous of a woman all this time.

Sharon couldn't help but laugh at him, "Your possessiveness is too strong. I was just talking to someone, and you got jealous."

Seb looked a bit sheepish and rubbed his nose, "It's just that when I asked you, you were vague, and then you seemed distracted, making me think you were hiding something from me, so I got upset."

"Is it appropriate to discuss girl stuff with you?"

Seb looked embarrassed and didn't say anything.

As the atmosphere between them grew subtle, Sharon's phone suddenly rang.

As soon as she answered, Sophie's somewhat dejected voice came through, "Sharon, can you come and keep me company?"

Sharon's eyes flashed with surprise, "Sophie, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

Sophie was silent for a few seconds, then mentioned a bar name and said she'd be waiting for Sharon there before hanging up.

Sharon put away her phone and looked at Seb, "Something's up with Sophie. She's at a bar, and I need to go."

Seb grabbed the car keys, "I'll drive you."

Worried about Sophie being alone at the bar, Sharon nodded, "Okay."

Seb and Sharon arrived at the bar about an hour later.

When Sharon found Sophie, she was already dazed and being hit on by a drunk guy. Sharon stepped forward and slapped the man's hand away from Sophie.

"Back off!" Sharon shouted.

The drunk guy, his face flushed, turned angrily, but his eyes lit up when he saw that the woman in front of him was even more beautiful than the one he had been hitting on.

"Hey, gorgeous, can I get your—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a chilling voice came from behind him. "Try touching her and see what happens!"

The drunk guy turned around and met a pair of icy eyes, shivering and sobering up considerably.

Seeing that Seb was dressed impeccably, the drunk guy awkwardly smiled, "Sorry, my mistake."

With that, he quickly turned and left, afraid Seb would call him back.

Sharon supported the dazed and barely standing Sophie, "Sophie, what's going on? Why did you drink so much?"

Sophie looked up with bleary eyes, recognizing Sharon, and smiled, "Sharon, you're here."

"I'll take you home."

"No, I don't want to go home. I'm not drunk. I can still drink. Let's keep drinking." She struggled to get up and reach for the empty glass on the bar, but her vision was blurry, and she missed it several times.

"Why is this glass moving?"

"You're drunk. Let's go home."

"I'm not drunk!" Sophie said stubbornly.

Sharon didn't want to argue with a drunk person, so she nodded and said, "Okay, you're not drunk. It's too noisy here. Let's go home and drink. I'll drink with you until you're satisfied!"

"You said it!"

"Yes, we won't stop until we're drunk, drinking till dawn."

Hearing this, Sophie finally stopped resisting and let Sharon lead her out of the bar.

As soon as they stepped out of the bar, a cold wind blew, and Sophie shivered.

Sharon took off her coat and draped it over Sophie. The next second, she felt another coat on her shoulders.

The familiar scent of Seb's cologne filled her senses, warming her heart as she supported Sophie to the parking lot.

After getting in the car, Sharon buckled Sophie's seatbelt. Just as she was about to close the door, Sophie started struggling and shouting, "Help, I'm being strangled! Let me go! Who's trying to kill me?"

Seeing Sophie struggling and contorting her body to escape the seatbelt, Sharon stood by the car, speechless.

Sharon held Sophie down, "Sophie, this is a seatbelt, not a rope."

"I don't care. It's a rope. Sharon, are you trying to hurt me?"

Sharon remained silent.

She turned to Seb, "I'll sit in the back to take care of her."

"Okay."

Sharon got in from the other side and calmed Sophie down. Finally, Sophie quieted down.

"Should we take her back to The Lee Villa?" Seb's deep voice came from the front.

Sharon pursed her lips and looked at him, "If we go back now, Mr. and Mrs. Lee will definitely worry. Let's have her stay with us for the night. We'll take her back when she sobers up tomorrow."

"Alright."

By the time they got back to the villa, Sophie was already asleep. Sharon and Dana helped her to a guest room on the first floor.

"Ms. Roach, I'll make some hangover food."

"Okay, Dana, thank you."

Dana shook her head and smiled, "It's my duty."

With that, Dana went to the kitchen.

Sharon had just come out of the bathroom with a basin of water when she heard Sophie sobbing.

She quickly walked to the bedside, put down the basin, and gently pushed Sophie, "Sophie, are you okay?"

Sophie opened her eyes, saw Sharon, and started crying even harder. "Sharon, is my life a failure?"

Seeing her red eyes, Sharon quickly knelt down and softly said, "Why would you think that?"

"The Lee Group is in trouble, and I can't help at all. I have feelings for Randy but don't dare to pursue it because of our age difference. I decided to get engaged to Dwayne for the sake of The Lee Group, but I still feel resentful. And Dwayne has a mistress."

Sophie tried to convince herself not to care, but she couldn't help feeling hurt, especially since Dwayne's mistress had given him a son. Dwayne would never truly cut ties with them.

The thought of spending her life pretending to be happy with someone she didn't love made her feel hopeless.

Moreover, she knew that Dwayne's engagement to her was a ploy to take over The Lee Group.

Being with him was like inviting a wolf into the house, but she had no other choice.

Seeing Sophie so heartbroken, Sharon felt a pang of sorrow and quickly wiped her tears.

"Sophie, don't worry. Seb plans to help The Lee Group. The Lee Group will get through this, and you don't have to be with Dwayne."

Sophie was stunned, not quite understanding what she meant. "What did you say? Seb is willing to help The Lee Group?"

Leonard had approached Seb many times before, but Seb had always refused.

Sophie wasn't naive. She knew Seb wouldn't help The Lee Group without a reason. Sharon must have said something to him. "Sharon, you've already helped The Lee Group so much."

Sharon held her hand and softly said, "Sophie, it's Seb who plans to help The Lee Group, and it's not without conditions, so you don't have to feel too stressed."

Even though Sharon said this, Sophie knew that without Sharon, Seb wouldn't care about The Lee Group's fate.

Thinking of this, Sophie felt even more grateful. "Sharon, becoming friends with you is the luckiest thing in my life!"

Sharon was taken aback. Being loved by Seb was also the luckiest thing in her life.

Thinking of all Seb had done for her without expecting anything in return, Sharon felt a mix of emotions.

While she was lost in thought, Dana came in with the hangover food, "Ms. Roach, the hangover food is ready."

Sharon collected herself, stood up, and took the food from Dana, "Dana, you can rest now. I'll take care of things here."

Seeing that Sophie was awake and didn't seem to need her help, Dana nodded, "Alright, Ms. Roach. If you need anything, just call me."

"Okay."

After Dana left, Sharon fed Sophie the hangover food, wiped her face, and then left the room.

Instead of going back to her room, Sharon turned and headed to the study.
