Chapter 616 A Pastime for Bored Moments

Randy didn't say a word. He stepped out of the elevator, grabbed Sophie's wrist, and pulled her along.

Sophie stumbled, almost falling. As she regained her balance, she heard Randy's warning voice.

"Saul, stay away from Sophie from now on, or you'll regret it."

Saul looked at Randy with a blank expression. "Mr. Smith, Sophie almost fell. Let go of her."

Randy sneered. "She's my girlfriend. It's none of your business."

Hearing this, Sophie shook off Randy's hand.

"Randy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?"

Randy turned to her. "What about you? What are you doing here at this hour? Don't tell me you've fallen for this guy who's younger than me."

At first, Randy didn't take Saul seriously, thinking he was just a tool Sophie used to annoy him. But as Sophie treated Saul better and better, Randy started to panic.

He was terrified that Sophie might like Saul and leave him.

Sophie rubbed her sore wrist, clearly annoyed. "What does it matter to you?"

"Sophie, I gave you time, thinking you'd come to your senses. But now, aren't you going too far?"

Sophie took a deep breath and looked at Saul. "Saul, go back to the room. Your mom still needs someone with her."

"Sophie, I'm not leaving. I'll stay here in case he tries to bully you. I can protect you."

Randy sneered. "You're just a distraction for Sophie when she's bored. What makes you think you can protect her?"

"Randy!" Sophie's tone was stern, and her eyes were filled with anger. "If you keep talking nonsense, I won't forgive you!"

Randy looked at her, disbelief in his eyes. "Sophie, you're saying such harsh things to me for him?"

"This is a hospital. I don't want to argue with you here. If you want to stay, go ahead."

With that, Sophie turned and walked towards the stairwell.

Randy was about to follow her when Saul blocked his way.

"Mr. Smith, it seems Sophie doesn't want to see you."

Randy sneered. "Saul, you're just a penniless college student. Do you think Sophie likes you? She's just playing with you. If you know what's good for you, leave on your own, or I'll make your life miserable."

"Oh really? I'm curious, Mr. Smith, how will you make my life miserable?"

"You don't want to find out. Besides, you must have ulterior motives for getting close to Sophie. I've already found out that you and Electra are half-siblings. If Sophie knew, she wouldn't forgive you."

Saul's body stiffened, and his grip on Randy tightened.

Randy's eyes flashed with coldness as he pushed past Saul and quickly walked towards the stairwell.

Downstairs in the hospital, Randy finally caught up with Sophie.

"Sophie, we need to talk."

"I have nothing to say to you, Randy. You weren't like this before."

The Randy she knew would never say such things.

Randy looked at her, his eyes pleading. "Sophie, I know I went too far tonight, but I'm just scared of losing you. You can be mad at me, but please don't fall for someone else."

Sophie felt a pang of sadness. After a long pause, she looked away. "Randy, I don't know if I still want to be with you or if I still love you."

A cold wind blew, and Randy's heart sank.

From the moment he saw Sophie, he knew he wanted to be with her and marry her. He had chased her for five years, and they had finally gotten together, only to break up shortly after.

He tried to win her back, but she only drifted further away.

Were they not meant to be?

"Sophie, you asked me not to see Electra for a month, and I did it. Today, Delbert called to tell me Electra attempted suicide and was in the hospital. I didn't go see her. I've made a lot of mistakes, but I'm trying to change. Please give me another chance."

Sophie was silent for a long time.

She knew she still had feelings for Randy. Especially when she saw his pleading eyes, she couldn't help but soften.

Finally, Sophie looked at Randy and nodded. "Okay, but this is your last chance. If you lie to me again, I won't come back."

Her serious expression made Randy panic, and he quickly promised, "I won't lie to you again!"

"Okay."

Randy pulled her into his arms, his voice filled with excitement. "Sophie, thank you for giving me another chance!"

Sophie pressed her lips together, about to respond, when she suddenly felt Randy's grip loosen.

The next second, she saw Delbert grab Randy's shirt and punch him in the face.

Randy quickly fought back, and the two started brawling.

Sophie instinctively stepped back, ready to call security, when Valentin and Geraldo arrived.

They immediately pulled Randy and Delbert apart. Delbert struggled, shouting, "Geraldo, let me go! I won't let him off today!"

Electra had been in the emergency room for hours, and when Delbert called Randy to come to the hospital, he refused. Now, seeing him with Sophie, Delbert was furious and wanted to beat Randy to a pulp.

Geraldo held him tightly, whispering, "Delbert, calm down. Do you want to end up at the police station?"

Delbert sneered. "I don't care. I need to teach him a lesson!"

Meanwhile, Valentin let go of Randy, seeing he had no intention of continuing the fight.

"Randy, Delbert is upset about Electra. Try to understand."

Randy wiped the blood from his mouth, his gaze icy. "Delbert, if you want to go crazy, do it somewhere else. I'm not interested in fighting you."

"Randy, do you know how long Electra was in the emergency room? Even as a friend, you should have come to see her. Just for this woman, you ignored your friend's life. What did she do to you?"

Seeing him point at Sophie, Randy's expression turned cold.

"Don't point fingers at her. If it weren't for you and Electra's attitude towards her, things wouldn't have gotten this bad. Don't try to guilt-trip me. Electra's suicide is her own doing. No one forced her. I'm not obligated to come see her."

"Fine. I was blind to be friends with you!"

Randy looked at him expressionlessly. "I should be the one saying that. You knew what Electra was doing behind my back, but you chose to hide it. You helped her. You have a part in my breakup with Sophie. From now on, we're no longer friends."

As Randy finished speaking, the room fell silent.

Geraldo and Valentin's expressions changed.

Delbert was stunned for a moment, then his face filled with disappointment. "Fine! From now on, we're done!"

With that, Delbert pushed Geraldo away and walked quickly towards the hospital entrance.

Geraldo frowned at Randy. "Randy, Delbert is just angry. If you say such harsh words now, how will you make up later?"

"I don't plan to. Because of him and Electra, Sophie and I have had so many fights. Should I break up with my girlfriend for two friends?"

Seeing Randy's indifferent expression, showing no regret, Geraldo suddenly felt a pang of regret. If he hadn't sent Randy that message, things wouldn't have escalated.

"I'm heading back."

Randy turned to Sophie, took her hand, and walked towards the hospital entrance.

Watching them leave, Geraldo felt a wave of frustration.

He turned to Valentin, about to speak, but saw Valentin looking at him suspiciously.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Did you tell Randy that Sophie was with another guy, which is why he came to the hospital?"

Geraldo was silent.

"I knew it! I don't even know what to say to you!"

"I didn't know they'd run into each other. And it's not Randy's fault. It was Electra who got obsessed and tried to kill herself. If she weren't my friend, I wouldn't have come."

"The world is so beautiful, and she tried to kill herself over a relationship. It's ridiculous."

"With your sharp tongue, why didn't you talk to Electra and Delbert? Now, Delbert and Randy have broken up. Are you happy?"

"Is it my fault? What would you have done?"

Valentin rubbed his temples. "Forget it. It's too late now. Let's go."

Every day, the company's issues were already enough. Now, dealing with their drama was even more exhausting.

Randy followed Sophie home, driving behind her car.

After parking, Sophie walked to Randy's car.

"How's your face? Do you want to come in so I can put some ointment on it?"

Randy shook his head. "It's fine, just a small injury. How about you kiss me? That should make it better."

Sophie was silent.

Seeing her helpless expression, Randy chuckled. "I'm kidding. Go on in. Do you have time tomorrow night? Let's have dinner."

Sophie nodded. "Okay, pick me up tomorrow night."

"Alright."

"I'm going in. Drive safe."

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Sophie turned and walked into the house, disappearing behind the door.

Back in her bedroom, after a shower and changing into her robe, Sophie sat at her vanity, applying skincare products and thinking about work for the next day.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Seeing it was Saul, Sophie pressed her lips together, thinking she needed to find a chance to talk to him.

Saul was handsome, but she never felt romantic feelings for him.

She picked up the phone. "What's up?"

"Sophie, did you get home safely?"
