Chapter 74 Do you want me to teach her a lesson?

Seb looked at her with a bone-chilling look. "Ms. Walker, I hope you know what you're saying."

Rebecca smiled fearlessly at him. "Of course I do. However, I wonder if you know what you're doing, coveting your own niece-in-law. If this gets out, you should be well aware of what Ms. Wright will face."

His eyes narrowed. "Are you threatening me?"

"Of course not, I’m just planning to help you, Mr. Smith."

"And how do you plan to do that, Ms. Walker?"

Sensing his cold aura, Rebecca took two steps forward. "Mr. Smith, you should know that even if Ms. Wright divorces Mr. Smith, you two are still impossible. You might as well be with me. I'll help you keep this secret."

Seb laughed coldly, each word wrapped in ice. "Ms. Walker, I don't like you and I will never be with you. If this matter gets leaked, Silvercrest Group will immediately terminate its contract with BrightWave Technologies and never cooperate again. You better weigh whether BrightWave can bear this consequence."

Seeing the seriousness in hiseyes, Rebecca knew he meant what he said. He was willing to fall out with BrightWave Technologies just for Sharon!

The office fell into a suffocating silence.

After a long while, Rebecca finally spoke, "Mr. Smith, rejecting me will be the biggest mistake you ever make."

Marrying her would be equivalent to obtaining BrightWave.

There were countless men outside who wanted to be with her, but Seb was so ungrateful.

What she couldn't stand the most was losing to Sharon, a woman who was inferior to her in every way.

Seb's expression didn't change at all. "Ms. Walker, I have to work now. You may leave."

Rebecca bit her lower lip and turned to leave.

The office fell silent again, but Seb's aura became even colder.

Then, Paul knocked and entered. "Mr. Smith, you need to check on Ms. Wright's experiment progress at the lab around ten, so..."

Before he could finish, Seb interrupted coldly, "I don't have time, so let Wayne Perez go. From now on, let him follow up on her experiment."

Surprise flashed in Paul's eyes. He thought, 'Then why did you bring her here to do the experiment in the first place? She could've done it at MedicaCare International Pharmaceuticals.'

He nodded. "Got it."

After Paul left, Seb took a deep breath to suppress his irritation and continued to read the documents.

However, after reading for a while, he couldn't focus on anything. He tossed the documents onto the table and irritably lit a cigarette.

At ten in the morning, Sharon was separating solutions when Paul came in with a few men in suits. "Ms. Wright, this is Mr. Perez from Silvercrest Group. From now on, he will be responsible for liaising with you on this experiment. If you have any needs or updates, just communicate directly with him."

Surprise flashed in Sharon's eyes, and she subconsciously asked, "Is Mr. Smith no longer in charge of this experiment?"

She remembered that when Medica Care International Pharmaceuticals sent her here, they said it was mainly so Seb could keep track of the experiment's progress.

Paul nodded. "Yes, Mr. Smith has a lot on his plate and probably doesn't have time to follow up on this experiment."

Sharon pursed her lips, knowing Seb wasn't busy; he just didn't want to see her. However, it was also good to draw a clear line, so they wouldn't have to face the awkwardness of meeting each other.

She nodded. "Alright, I understand."

After briefly explaining her experiment's progress to Wayne, the group left.

She added the solution to a flask to start the reaction, sitting down to write the experiment records.

As she wrote, she got a bit distracted.

It wasn't until her phone rang that she snapped back to reality.

Seeing it was Alex, she swiped to answer.

"What's up?"

"Sharon, there's a charity gala tonight. Come with me."

Sharon lowered her eyes, a thoughtful look flashing in them. After a few seconds, she replied, "Alright, what should I wear?"

"Don't worry about it, I'll have my secretary prepare something for you."

Since he was willing to take care of it, Sharon didn't bother. After confirming the time with him, she hung up.

Time flew by, and soon it was evening.

Sharon filled out the experiment records, washed the equipment, returned them to their places, locked the lab, and left.

She arrived at the gala venue close to seven o'clock.

After leaving the car, Alex had her take his arm and whispered, "You know most people here. I'll be talking business later, so just chat with others as you please."

She nodded. "Got it."

He turned to look at her. She was wearing a white strapless gown with a few lifelike white roses adorning the chest, revealing her slender and beautiful collarbone. She wore a delicate diamond necklace around her neck, sparkling under the lights.

Her long hair was straightened, falling naturally behind her. She only had light makeup, but she was stunning, making it hard for anyone to look away.

If he could, he would've hid Sharon at home; away from everyone's eyes.

After all, Seb had developed inappropriate thoughts just from a few encounters with her.

Thinking of this, Alex's face darkened.

Noticing his change in mood, Sharon frowned slightly and lowered her eyes. "Let's go in."

The two walked into the ballroom, and Alex quickly let go of Sharon to chat with the Smith group's business partners.

Seeing his face injury, everyone, though aware, pretended not to know and asked him what had happened.

Alex simply said he had fallen and quickly changed the topic to business matters.

On the other hand, Sophie had something to do tonight and didn't come.

Sharon took a glass of juice and found a corner to sit down.

The person she needed to meet tonight hadn't arrived yet, and she didn't feel like socializing. After all, once she divorced Alex, these people wouldn't contact her anymore.

However, what she didn't know was that someone noticed her the moment she walked in.

Rebecca had been in a foul mood since Seb rejected her this morning. Seeing Sharon, the reason for her rejection, she couldn't help but feel hatred.

The person next to her followed her gaze, seeing Sharon quietly sitting in the corner. Raising an eyebrow, they asked, "Rebecca, I heard you had dinner with the Smith family recently. How did it go? Did you win Seb over?"

Rebecca's face turned a bit sour. "Don't mention it. Metropolis isn't short of men, and BrightWave Technologies has a partnership with Silvercrest Group. Having a meal with them is normal."

Just thinking about how she had humbled herself so much this morning yet Seb remained unmoved, her anger was even harder to suppress.

She downed her drink in one gulp and looked at Sharon with a scrutinizing and cold gaze.

Emily asked, "What, did Sharon anger you? Do you want me to teach her a lesson?"
