Chapter 62 Always Thinking About Other People's Wives
"Vicious?" Sharon's lips curled into a cold smile.
She added, "Your daughter plotted with her colleagues to ruin me, almost left me disfigured - isn't that cruel? She staged a humiliation, filmed it, then spread it online to cyberbully me - isn't that cruel? She abducted me, almost took my life - isn't that cruel?"
Catherine wanted to retort, but when she met Sharon's icy gaze, she froze and forgot what she was going to say.
Seeing Sharon's sharp tongue, Ted said coldly, "Sharon, your dad's not in good health. If he finds out you were kidnapped, he'd be worried, wouldn't he?"
Sharon abruptly looked up, meeting Ted's threatening gaze. Her hands clenched unconsciously under the blanket.
She gritted her teeth, about to speak, when the ward door suddenly opened.
Seb said, "Mr. Robinson, you seem quite bold outside, daring to threaten people."
Ted's face stiffened. He turned to see Seb looking at him with cold eyes, and suddenly felt guilty. "Mr. Smith, what brings you here?"
Ted was a department manager at Silvercrest Group's branch office and had met Seb a few times when reporting to the headquarters.
A hint of displeasure flashed in Seb's eyes as he coldly replied, "Do I need to report to you wherever I go?"
Sensing Seb's anger, Ted's face showed panic, and he quickly lowered his head. "No need."
Seb walked over and sat by the bed. Seeing that Sharon was alright, he turned his gaze back to Ted. "Mr. Robinson, do you know that Sharon is the Smiths' member?"
Under Seb's piercing gaze, Ted broke into a cold sweat. "Mr. Smith."
He gritted his teeth and turned to Sharon. "Sharon, no, Ms. Wright, I misspoke earlier. I hope you can forgive me. As for Irene, she indeed did wrong. Whatever the court decides, we have no objections!"
Catherine's eyes flashed with disbelief, and she angrily said, "Ted, what are you saying?"
"Shut up!" Ted shot her a cold glance, and Catherine was immediately scared into silence.
Seeing Ted's submissive behavior, Sharon realized the power of influence. Just a moment ago, Ted was threatening her, and now he was apologizing.
She said, "Mr. Robinson, I hope you're sincere. Also, I hope you won't appear in front of my father again."
Ted nodded. "Of course. Mr. Smith, we'll be leaving now."
Seb didn't even look at him and turned to Sharon. "How's your recovery today?"
"Much better." Sharon nodded.
Seeing her rosy complexion, no longer pale, Seb nodded.
Ted, being astute, knew that Seb ignoring him meant the matter was settled. He quickly dragged Catherine away.
Once they were alone, Sharon looked at Seb. "Uncle Seb, thank you for helping me again today."
Sharon said, "Uncle Seb, you're busy with work. You don't need to waste your time visiting me."
Seb raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing her. "Is this how you treat your savior?"
Sharon looked up at him and slowly said, "Precisely because you're my savior, I should be grateful and not waste your time."
Hearing her repeatedly call him uncle, constantly reminding them of their relationship, Seb suddenly leaned in closer.
Seeing his face magnified before her, Sharon was momentarily stunned, then quickly retreated.
He was about to speak when the door suddenly opened.
"Sharon." Alex's voice halted as he saw Seb.
Seb's posture made it look like he was about to kiss Sharon.
Alex's expression turned cold as he quickly walked to the bedside, glaring at Seb. "Uncle Seb, I told you before to stay away from Sharon!"
Seb looked at him indifferently, his gaze icy enough to freeze.
Alex's face was tense, but he fearlessly met Seb's gaze.
Sharon was his wife. No matter what, Seb's interest in her was inappropriate.
Noticing the temperature dropping, Sharon frowned. "If you want to argue, do it outside. I need to rest."
The moment she spoke, both Seb and Alex looked at her, and the cold atmosphere inside instantly dissipated as if nothing had happened.
Seb said, "Rest well. I'll visit you tomorrow."
Alex sneered, "I'll take good care of Sharon. No need for you to trouble yourself, Uncle Seb."
Seb glanced at him. "You have a pregnant mistress outside. Can you handle both?"
Alex said, "That's my concerns. Uncle Seb, mind your own affairs and stop coveting someone else's wife."
"Alex, shut up!" Sharon looked at Alex coldly, her eyes full of anger.
Sharon had intended to subtly distance herself from Seb, but now that Alex had said it out loud, how could she face Seb in the future!
Ignoring Alex's gaze, Sharon looked at Seb. "Uncle Seb, take care on your way back."
Her tone was respectful, like a junior to a senior, but Seb's eyes grew colder.
He said nothing more and left.
Once Seb's figure disappeared from the doorway, Sharon turned to Alex. "You should leave too. I don't want to see you."
"Sharon, could it be that you've fallen for Uncle Seb?" Alex asked.
Seeing the suspicion in his eyes, Sharon no longer felt the sadness or anger she once did, only calm. "It's up to you."
She only wanted to recover, then tell the Smith family about Alex's affair after being discharged, and divorce him, staying far away.
After last night's disappointment, Sharon no longer wanted to look at Alex.
Her indifference made Alex furious. He stepped forward and grabbed her chin. "Not explaining means you admit it!"
He gripped her chin so tightly that Sharon felt it might break.
Looking into his pained eyes, a hint of mockery flashed across her face.
Pushing his hand away, Sharon shouted expressionlessly, "Get out."
