Chapter 57 I'll Give You a Week to Move Back

In an instant, a slap mark appeared on Alex's face, and his gaze at Sharon turned icy cold. "You actually dared to hit me!"

Sharon met his angry eyes and said slowly, "Why shouldn't I hit you? You cheated and lied about me to my dad. You're asking for it!?"

As soon as she finished speaking, he grabbed her chin and pinned her against the wall, a fierce look in his eyes. "Sharon, you were the one who didn't listen to me first. If you had obeyed, I wouldn't have gone to see your father."

Sharon let out a cold laugh. "If you dare to go to my dad again, I'll expose your affair."

"If you don't care about stressing Dad out and making him sicker, go ahead, spill the beans." Alex's indifferent tone filled Sharon with anger, and her hands clenched involuntarily.

"Alex, how did you become so shameless?" Sharon said.

Alex looked down at her, seeing the disgust and anger in her eyes, his pupils contracted, and he tightened his grip on her chin. "Sharon, I just want you to come back to me and stay away from Uncle Seb. You're the one provoking me."

Sharon took a deep breath. "I won't be threatened by you, and I won't resign."

"Fine, you don't have to resign. I'll give you a week to move back to the villa. Sharon, this is my final concession. If you don't appreciate it, I'll have to take drastic measures."

Hearing the threat in Alex's voice, Sharon's body stiffened, and it felt like all the blood in her veins was flowing backward.

She couldn't understand how she ever loved such a shameless man like Alex.

Unfortunately, it was too late for regret now.

She said, "And if I don't move back? What drastic measures are you planning to take?"

Alex said, "You wouldn't want your father's kidney transplant spot to be taken by someone else, would you?"

Sharon looked at him in disbelief. "Alex, you're not even human!"

Knowing that Robert was the person she cared about most, Alex actually used this to threaten her!

He smiled slightly and whispered in her ear, "I'll be waiting for you to come back."

After saying that, he didn't continue to pester Sharon and turned to leave.

When Sharon got home, it was already past 8:00 p.m..

She didn't turn on the lights, took off her shoes, and walked barefoot to the sofa in the living room.

At this moment, her mind was a mess, and she didn't know who to confide in.

Originally, Sharon had planned to play along with Alex for a while, gather evidence, and then formally sue him. But his shamelessness exceeded her expectations.

While she was feeling frustrated, she suddenly heard a faint sound coming from the bedroom.

She frowned, a look of confusion flashing in her eyes.

She carefully stood up, walked slowly to the door, and pressed the switch, but the living room light didn't turn on.

She glanced outside and saw that the lights in the house across the way were on, and a sense of panic welled up inside her.

She reached for the door handle and rushed outside.

However, as soon as the motion sensor light outside turned on, Sharon was pushed back into the living room by Anthony.

Anthony, who was waiting outside, came in and closed the door, cutting off the outside light.

Her face twisted in pain, but her mind was racing.

There were people lying in wait both in the bedroom and by the door, which meant this was premeditated.

She got up and ran toward the kitchen, but after only a few steps, Eugene grabbed her arm and shoved her against the wall.

"Who are you, and why are you..." Before Sharon could finish, Eugene pressed a hand over her mouth and a towel against her nose.

A strong, pungent smell hit her, and Sharon's vision began to blur.

Soon, Eugene and Anthony, both wearing masks, dragged a suitcase out of Sharon's house.

Since it was past 8:00 p.m., most people had already returned home from work, and there weren't many people around the neighborhood, so they didn't attract much attention.

They quickly reached the back gate of the neighborhood, where a car without a license plate was parked under the shadow of a tree.

They put the suitcase in the trunk and drove out of the city.

At the CEO's office of Silvercrest Group.

Paul walked in hurriedly with a document. "Mr. Smith, this document was just returned by the partner. They said there might be an issue with the experimental data, but I'm not a specialist, so I can't tell what's wrong."

Seb took the document, glanced at it, and said in a deep voice, "Call Sharon."

Paul nodded, quickly took out his phone, and dialed Sharon's number.

The phone vibrated in the pitch-dark living room, ringing for a long time before it stopped.

Paul tried several times, but Sharon didn't answer.

He said, "Mr. Smith, should I take the document directly to Ms. Wright?"

Seb nodded. "Alright."

When Sharon woke up, she found herself stuffed into a confined space that felt like a suitcase. Panic and fear gripped her heart.

Although she was usually calm, this was her first experience with kidnapping, and she was in constant danger. The kidnappers could kill her at any moment.

She took a deep breath to force herself to calm down. Realizing she was moving, she guessed she was in a car.

After thinking for a while, she remembered that she lived in an old neighborhood and hadn't offended anyone recently.

Considering the planned kidnapping, she thought about everyone she'd met and figured Irene was the prime suspect.

Suddenly, the car stopped.

Hearing the trunk open, Sharon quickly closed her eyes.

Soon, she felt the suitcase being lifted and then roughly thrown to the ground.

Her entire body ached as if her bones were shattered, but Sharon bit her lip hard, not daring to make a sound.

If the kidnappers realized she was awake, who knew what they would do to her. It was safer to pretend to be unconscious for now.

Outside, she heard voices. "I've brought the person here for you. Now, can you give me the money you promised?"

There was a moment of silence before Eugene's voice replied. "Wait, I haven't received the money yet. Once I get it, I'll give it to you immediately."

As soon as he finished speaking, Anthony's angry voice erupted. "Eugene, are you screwing with me? I only agreed to help you kidnap her, not to get involved in extortion. Give me the money now, or I won't be able to keep my mouth shut. Don't blame me if I spill the beans about what you had me do!"
