Chapter 505 Not Having Many More Chances

As Sharon walked into the office, Seb was buried in his paperwork.

Hearing the familiar footsteps, Seb looked up and smiled as soon as he saw Sharon.

"Sharon, you're here."

Sharon unpacked the breakfast she had brought and set it on the table. "Grab a bite. No matter how busy you are, your health comes first."

Seb wasn't really hungry, but he didn't want to worry her. He put down his documents and sat across from her.

Sharon handed him a fork, noticing the dark circles under his eyes and the stubble on his chin. Her eyes showed a hint of concern.

"Eat first, and then I'll give you a shave."

Seb nodded. "Alright."

Seeing him take a bite of a ravioli, Sharon got up and headed to the break room.

As she turned away, her eyes reddened instantly.

On her way over, she had received a call from Sophie, who said that Silvercrest Group was likely to go bankrupt.

She wasn't afraid of tough times with Seb; she was just worried he wouldn't be able to handle it.

For someone as proud as him, the bankruptcy of Silvercrest Group would be like falling from heaven to hell.

In the break room, Sharon splashed her face with cold water and, after making sure her eyes weren't red, began looking for Seb's razor.

Ten minutes later, she came out with a hot towel and the razor.

The breakfast that had been laid out was now gone. She paused for a moment, then walked over to Seb.

"Lie down. I'll start with a hot towel."

"Okay." Seb lay down on the couch, and Sharon placed the hot towel on the lower half of his face, gently massaging his temples.

Soon, Seb's breathing became steady.

She stopped, carefully removed the towel, and began to shave him slowly to avoid waking him.

After about ten minutes, she finished shaving his chin.

She gently wiped his face with the towel again, then went back to the break room to clean the razor and towel. After tidying up the breakfast remains, she quietly left.

Not long after she left, Seb, who had been lying on the couch, opened his eyes.

His eyes were bloodshot, but they were clear, indicating he hadn't slept at all.

He slowly sat up, touched his smooth chin, and gave a bitter smile.

Soon, Paul rushed in.

"Mr. Smith, we got news from Falcon... Mr. Carter's relative holds 20% of Vertex Innovations Group, and Mr. Carter's ex-wife is the actual owner of one of Vertex Innovations Group's subsidiaries, holding 100%."

Before receiving Falcon's report, Paul had held onto a sliver of hope, but reality had dealt him a harsh blow.

Raymond was still a shareholder of Silvercrest Group on paper, but in reality, he had turned his coat and was now a spy for the rival company.

"Moreover, the investigation shows that Mr. Carter's ex-wife has been the owner for over a year."

If Paul remembered correctly, Raymond and his ex-wife divorced just over a year ago.

So, even before their divorce, Raymond must have started leaking Silvercrest Group's core data to Vertex Innovations Group.

"Did you find out what data he gave them?"

"Yes, it's all on this USB flash drive."

Seb took the USB flash drive, plugged it into his computer, and opened the files.

Despite being prepared, seeing that almost all core data had been leaked made Seb's face tighten.

It seemed Leo had come well-prepared this time.

"Mr. Smith..."

Seb waved his hand, his voice hoarse and low. "You can go now."

Paul hesitated but then said, "Mr. Smith, the most important thing now is to detain Mr. Carter. Otherwise, Silvercrest Group is really at risk of collapsing."

"Notify the shareholders. We'll have a meeting at ten."

"Okay."

After Paul left, Seb walked to the window, staring at the distant ocean without any expression.

Whenever he had something on his mind, he liked to stand here and watch the sea. Over time, he would always figure things out.

But now, it seemed he might not have many more chances to stand here and enjoy the view.

At ten o'clock, the Silvercrest Group shareholders' meeting started on time.

All the shareholders were present except for Raymond.

Seb glanced at the uneasy shareholders and said, "Silvercrest Group is likely to go bankrupt. Be prepared."

His words were like a bolt from the blue, throwing the room into chaos.

"What? Mr. Smith, you can't be serious... This isn't funny at all."

"The issue with the machines at Rainbow Group, wasn't that their problem? Even if it affects the company, it shouldn't lead to bankruptcy, right?"

"Is it because of Vertex Innovations Group's new Galaxy Chip? Even though their features and data are similar to Nebula 6, their prices are much higher than what we planned for Nebula 6. Nebula 6 might still compete well against Vertex Innovations Group."

"Yeah, how could we go bankrupt just like that?"

The shareholders were in disbelief and anger.

Seb didn't explain further. He projected his computer screen onto the big screen and said, "One shareholder isn't here today. You all know who it is. All these data were leaked to Vertex Innovations Group by him. Now, Vertex Innovations Group has all of Silvercrest Group's core data."

The shareholders were stunned, some turning pale and nearly fainting.

Having their data leaked was like being stripped naked in public.

"Mr. Smith... is this true?" one shareholder asked, his voice trembling.

They were all wealthy, but now... they were suddenly facing poverty without any warning. It was a hard blow for anyone to take.

Seb looked at the speaker coldly. "If you don't believe me, you can check for yourself. The reason Vertex Innovations Group's Galaxy is so similar to Nebula 6 is that Raymond gave them all the data. Now, Vertex Innovations Group has all of Silvercrest Group's core data. They can easily crush us."

As his last word fell, the room plunged into a deathly silence.

Some shareholders, unable to cope, turned as white as paper, nearly passing out.

"Where's Raymond? That bastard! He ruined me! I won't let him get away with this!"

"Yeah! Where is he? I want him to pay for my losses!"

"Let's call the police and have him arrested!"

The shareholders were furious, ready to tear Raymond apart.

"I've already had Paul call the police. He's been arrested, but don't get your hopes up. All his money is with his ex-wife, and legally, he has no connection to her anymore," Seb said.
