Chapter 377 Who would love someone like her?

Seb raised an eyebrow, "You actually like the cafeteria food?"

Sharon nodded, "Yeah, it's pretty good."

"Cool, let's eat together next time."

"Sure."

After agreeing so quickly, Sharon realized what she had just done.

He wanted to eat with her in the cafeteria?

Didn't he think she was famous enough?

But since they went to and from work together every day, and she often went to the CEO's office at noon, it didn't seem like a big deal to eat in the cafeteria together. After all, with Seb's statement sent to everyone at Silvercrest Group, no one would dare gossip in front of them.

Thinking about it, Sharon suddenly realized she had gotten used to being with Seb.

She had no idea when he had quietly slipped into her life.

Thinking of this, she pursed her lips and said nothing more.

Noticing Sharon's silence, Seb frowned and was about to speak when the elevator arrived.

After they walked in, a few Silvercrest Group employees followed.

Over the past few days, they had stopped being afraid of sharing an elevator with Seb and Sharon.

After all, quite a few people had missed clocking in on time because they were too scared to share an elevator with Seb and Sharon, losing out on a month's perfect attendance bonus.

It was known that Silvercrest Group's perfect attendance bonus was $400 a month, and losing that money was painful for everyone.

Seb didn't find a chance to talk to Sharon. Soon, the elevator reached Sharon's floor, and she walked out with her head down.

It wasn't until the elevator doors closed behind her that Sharon felt the burning gaze on her disappear. She let out a sigh of relief and quickly walked toward the lab.

As soon as Sharon walked into the lab, Ariana greeted her.

Seeing Ariana's swollen eyes, Sharon didn't ask and pretended not to notice as she started her experiment.

The morning experiment was busy, and Sharon didn't even have time to drink water until it ended at 12:30.

Seeing Ariana about to go for lunch, Sharon called out to her, "I'll go with you."

Ariana looked surprised, "Sharon, aren't you eating with Mr. Smith today?"

Sharon nodded, "He has a meeting at noon."

"Okay."

Ariana didn't ask further, and the two walked silently toward the elevator.

Just as they reached the elevator, Kirk's voice came from behind, "Ms. Roach, Ariana, what a coincidence, are you going for lunch too?"

Sharon turned around and responded, her tone a bit cold, "Yes."

"I'm heading there too, let's go together."

Sharon frowned, it seemed Kirk hadn't taken her warning to heart at all.

It looked like she needed to find a good opportunity to talk to Ariana about Kirk.

"Mr. Marshall, it's not appropriate for you to join us, we're just two girls."

Kirk smiled, "Ms. Roach, I didn't know you were so traditional. It's normal for male and female colleagues to have lunch together, right? Besides, I have some data to discuss with you over lunch."

"It's lunch break now, Mr. Marshall. If you want to discuss data, please come to me during work hours."

Sharon and Kirk's conversation seemed like an argument, and Ariana unconsciously clenched her hands, her head down, lost in thought.

"Since Ms. Roach doesn't want to discuss work, we can talk about something else over lunch."

Sharon's face darkened, and just as she was about to speak, Ariana suddenly said, "Sharon, I just remembered there's an experiment instrument I haven't cleaned. I won't go down for lunch. If it's convenient, could you bring me some food?"

Sharon, who was overseeing the experiment, knew all the instruments were already cleaned and checked.

But since Ariana didn't want to be around Kirk either, Sharon was happy to see that. "Okay, next time be more careful."

"Sure thing."

With that, Ariana turned and left. Kirk watched Ariana's back, his eyes narrowing. He hadn't expected Ariana to be so hard to approach.

Soon, the elevator arrived.

Sharon walked in and saw Kirk still standing outside. She arched an eyebrow, "Mr. Marshall, aren't you coming? Didn't you say you had some data to discuss with me?"

Kirk's eyes darkened, "Ms. Roach, didn't you say to find you during work hours? Besides, if I have lunch alone with you, Mr. Smith won't let me off. I'll just order takeout."

Sharon raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Alright, see you."

After eating downstairs, Sharon packed some food for Ariana. When she returned to the office, she saw Ariana sitting at her desk, lost in thought.

It wasn't until Sharon's footsteps sounded behind her that Ariana snapped back to reality and turned to look.

Sharon put the food on Ariana's desk, "Here you go."

"Thanks, Sharon. I'll transfer the money to you later."

"Okay. By the way, what do you think of Kirk?"

Ariana paused while picking up her utensils and replied with a blank face, "He's just okay. I haven't had much contact with him, nor do I want to."

Sharon hesitated for a moment but decided to be direct, "I think he's interested in you."

"Sharon, you must be mistaken. We've only met a few times. Why would he like me? Besides, he's not my type."

Although Kirk had saved her once, Ariana still felt that Kirk wasn't a good person.

Ariana was grateful to him but didn't want to have too much interaction with him.

"Ariana, I've watched you grow in the lab. I know how much effort you've put in to get where you are today. You deserve someone better."

Ariana looked up at her and nodded, "Sharon, I know. Besides, I don't have any plans to date right now."

Because of her family background, Ariana was uncomfortable with all intimate relationships and found it hard to start a normal romantic relationship. She was always wary of others, thinking no one would love her and fearing falling in love because she was afraid of getting hurt.

Someone as burdened as Ariana probably wouldn't be loved by anyone.

Whether Kirk was approaching her on a whim or for other reasons, she wouldn't give him any chance.

"If you meet someone good, you should still consider dating. I hope you find someone sincere and gentle to love you."

Sharon's voice was gentle as she reached out to pat her head.

Ariana was a few years younger than Sharon, and over the years, Sharon had come to see Ariana as a sister.

So, Sharon hoped Ariana would be with someone of good character, not someone scheming and calculating.

"Okay."

Ariana lowered her head and took small bites of her food, finding it tasteless.

For someone like Ariana, who would love her?

Love, to Ariana, was less real than the food in front of her.

Love was just an illusory thing. Even her parents didn't love her, how could she rely on someone else's love?

Seeing that Ariana seemed to have taken her words to heart, Sharon turned and went back to her desk.

After finishing her food, Ariana thought for a long time and finally sent Kirk a message, planning to invite him to dinner tonight.
