Chapter 178 Since He Wants to Play, I'll Play Along with Him!

Sharon's eyes flashed with impatience. "I have nothing to say to you. You're just a stranger to me."

Alex looked a bit helpless. "Why are you being so stubborn? We were in love once. Even though we're apart now, I still hope you have a good life. But Uncle Seb is really not right for you."

Sharon frowned and said coldly, "I don't want to hear your nonsense. Move aside!"

She had met Donna today and was in a good mood, but running into Alex ruined it all.

Ava, standing nearby, sneered. "Alex, stop talking. If she wants to be a mistress, let her. You won't be the one left embarrassed in the end."

Sharon didn't want to engage with them, but she couldn't help but look at Ava after hearing that.

"Speaking of being a mistress, Ms. Kim should be quite experienced. After all, you were one before you became legitimate, weren't you?"

Ava's face turned ugly with anger. "Sharon, what nonsense are you spouting? Alex and I are legally married now. I'm Mrs. Smith, unlike you, who just had a fling with Seb. Now that his ex-girlfriend is back, he couldn't wait to kick you out. It's laughable!"

Sharon's expression remained indifferent. "Just because you have a marriage certificate doesn't mean you're not a mistress. Should I post those disgusting videos of you and Alex online so everyone can see what kind of people you are?"

"You!"

Ava was so angry she was about to curse Sharon, but Donna, standing nearby, couldn't take it anymore.

"Alex, I remember seeing you and Sharon dating back in college. You treated her so well back then. I can't believe you've become like this now."

Alex hadn't noticed Donna until now. Hearing her, he looked over and recognized her as Sharon's senior from their college lab. They had even had a few meals together.

In an instant, the beautiful memories Alex had deliberately forgotten came flooding back.

Yes, he had treated Sharon very well in college.

Back then, he was entirely devoted to Sharon. He couldn't stand to see her shed a single tear. Every time her eyes reddened, he felt like the world was ending and scrambled to comfort her in a fluster.

Eight years was a long time, and Alex had forgotten when he started to care less about Sharon.

Maybe he thought Sharon would never leave him, so he began to hurt her recklessly.

Seeing Alex lost in thought, Ava quickly clutched her stomach. "Oh, Alex, my stomach hurts."

Ava's voice snapped Alex out of his memories. He turned to her. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know. It just suddenly hurts a lot..."

Ava's brows were furrowed, and her face was pale, looking in pain.

Alex didn't bother with Sharon and Donna anymore and quickly helped Ava leave.

Once Alex and Ava were out of sight, Donna finally turned to the indifferent Sharon.

"Sharon, are you okay?"

Sharon smiled. "I'm fine. It's over. Let me take you back."

On the way back to the hotel, Donna seemed hesitant to speak.

It wasn't until the car stopped at the hotel entrance that Donna finally made up her mind. "Sharon, I really hope you'll think about what I said earlier. It's just four years. You've got so much time ahead of you."

Sharon nodded, her eyes soft. "I know, Donna."

Donna didn't say anything more, just reminded Sharon to stay safe before getting out of the car and heading into the hotel.

Back home, Sharon sat on the couch, ready to rest. She noticed an invitation peeking out of her bag and reached for it.

Reading the seminar details, Sharon's grip tightened.

Maybe Donna was right. She should rethink her future plans.

She couldn't have children, and even without Grace, she and Seb wouldn't have lasted.

Besides, she had already been hurt by Alex once and shouldn't make the same mistake again.

Thinking of this, a determined look slowly appeared in Sharon's eyes.

The next morning, as soon as Sharon arrived at the Silvercrest Group building, she ran into Grace.

To be precise, Grace was waiting for her on purpose.

"Good morning, Ms. Wright. I brought breakfast for Seb. He has stomach issues and doesn't like food made by others, so I had to make it myself."

Sharon frowned. "Miss Hall, if you like performing so much, bring a couple of photographers next time. Have them capture you delivering breakfast and send it to some tabloids so everyone can see how great you are."

Grace smirked. "That's not necessary. As long as Seb understands my sincerity, that's enough."

"Then stop flaunting it in front of me. I'm not interested."

With that, Sharon walked past her.

Watching her leave, Grace's smile deepened.

Sharon better truly give up on Seb, or she would make sure Sharon couldn't stay in Metropolis.

Taking the elevator to the top floor, Grace walked straight into the office.

"Seb, I heard from Nanny that you came to work without breakfast. I brought you some. I made it myself. Please have a taste before you continue working."

Seb's expression was cold, his eyes not leaving the document. "Just leave it on the table. You're not well; you don't need to cook or bring me food."

Grace bit her lip, disappointment flashing in her eyes.

"But in college, you had stomach problems because you skipped breakfast. You should eat something..."

Before she could finish, the office door suddenly opened, and Paul hurried in. Seeing Grace, he paused.

"Mr. Smith, I have something important to report."

Seb finally looked up at Grace. "You should go. I need to work."

"But the breakfast..."

Seb didn't respond, but his eyes showed clear impatience.

Grace didn't dare to anger him, so she placed the lunchbox down. "Remember to eat when you have time."

With that, she reluctantly left, looking back several times.

"What is it?"

"Mr. Alex Smith has taken another one of our company's deals."

Seb tossed the document onto the table, his expression icy.

"It seems he's determined to go against Silvercrest Group."

Paul kept his head down, not daring to speak, knowing Alex was Seb's nephew and part of the Smith family.

"Investigate which companies he's been dealing with recently. If he wants to play, I'll play along."

"Yes, sir!"

After Paul left, Seb picked up the document again, not even glancing at the breakfast on the table.
