Chapter 554 Can You Plead for Us

Bernice's eyes widened in disbelief, filled with fear and guilt, her face turning ghostly pale.

"Uncle Seb..."

"Don't call me that. I don't have a niece who betrays her family. Since you've chosen to side with Jesse, you're now against me and Silvercrest Group. From now on, we're business rivals, and I won't show you any mercy."

Seb's gaze was as cold as a winter wind. "But since we were once family, I'll give you a piece of advice: stay away from Jesse, or you won't even know what hit you."

With that, Seb walked past her and left.

Bernice stood there, pale and unable to follow him.

Back in the office, Paul knocked and entered. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Simmons from SkyRise Corporation wants to see you."

"Not interested. Tell him SkyRise Corporation's issues are none of my concern."

"Got it."

That evening, as Seb arrived at the underground parking lot, a figure suddenly blocked his path.

Seeing it was Jerry Simmons from SkyRise Corporation, Seb's expression darkened.

"Mr. Simmons, what brings you here?"

Jerry looked troubled. "Mr. Smith, SkyRise Corporation is in real trouble this time. We need your help. If you help me out this once, I promise to follow your lead from now on, no more wavering."

If he had any other options, he wouldn't have come to Seb.

Seb's gaze remained cold. "If I recall correctly, not long ago, my secretary approached you to buy some products at a high price, but you refused. Now, Silvercrest Group's production line is still halted, losing millions daily. Even if I wanted to help, I can't. You should find someone else."

With that, Seb walked past him.

Jerry hurried to catch up, forcing a smile. "Mr. Smith, please don't go. We can still talk. Silvercrest Group needs products, and SkyRise Corporation can provide them at market price, no need to pay extra."

Seb raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Market price? Mr. Simmons, you really don't know how to do business."

Previously, Silvercrest Group was willing to pay above market price because they needed SkyRise Corporation's products. Now that SkyRise Corporation needed Silvercrest Group's help, they still wanted to sell at market price? Did they think he was a fool?

Seeing Seb unwilling to continue the conversation, Jerry panicked. "Mr. Smith... Mr. Smith, we're negotiating, right? If you're not satisfied, you can propose something. We can still discuss it, can't we?"

Seb stopped and looked at him expressionlessly. "Mr. Simmons, I don't have time to waste. Just give me your lowest acceptable price. If I can accept it, we'll cooperate. If not, there's no point in continuing."

Silence fell between them.

Jerry nervously rubbed his hands, his mind racing with numbers. If he quoted too high, Seb might walk away. Too low, and he'd lose money. But only Silvercrest Group could save SkyRise Corporation now.

"Mr. Smith, I'll be straightforward. I'll give you the factory price. That's my bottom line. Any lower, and I'd be losing money."

Seb knew this was the best Jerry could offer. After a moment of thought, he said, "Fine. Come see me Monday morning, and we'll sign the contract."

Jerry immediately panicked. "Mr. Smith, time is of the essence. Let's sign today. It won't take more than half an hour."

Seb raised an eyebrow. "Mr. Simmons, don't worry. If I say we'll sign on Monday, SkyRise Corporation won't be in trouble. You can relax."

Hearing this, Jerry reluctantly agreed. "Alright, Mr. Smith, I'll wait for your call."

"Good."

After parting ways with Jerry, Seb got in his car and drove off.

Jerry watched Seb's car disappear before calling his driver.

As soon as he got in the car, his secretary in the passenger seat couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Simmons, you know Seb is behind this. Why still cooperate with him?"

Jerry sneered. "Do I have another choice? If I hadn't listened to your nonsense, I wouldn't have offended Seb. Now I have to negotiate at factory price. I warn you, don't mention Jesse again, or you're fired!"

The secretary had previously advised him to avoid offending Jesse, fearing a crisis. Now, Jesse was unscathed, but Seb was offended.

If he had to offend someone, he'd rather it be Jesse. He'd worked with Seb for years and knew Seb wasn't ruthless. Jesse, on the other hand, was known for being merciless.

Jerry's gaze turned to the window, a shadow crossing his eyes.

He felt Metropolis was on the brink of change.

In the following days, the heads of companies that had previously refused to cooperate with Silvercrest Group called Paul daily, hoping to arrange a meeting with Seb.

But no matter how they contacted Paul, the answer was always the same: Seb refused to see them.

On Monday morning, as soon as Seb arrived at the office, Jerry came with the contract.

Seeing Jerry, Seb was slightly surprised. "Mr. Simmons, you're here early."

Jerry smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, Mr. Smith. I brought the contract. If everything's in order, let's sign it."

Seb nodded. "Alright."

He took the contract and began reading.

After about ten minutes, he closed the contract and looked at Jerry. "Mr. Simmons, everything looks good."

"Great. I've already signed. You just need to sign."

Seb signed where needed and handed a copy to Jerry. "Mr. Simmons, looking forward to our cooperation."

"Likewise. If there's nothing else, I'll head back."

"Good. Our procurement manager will coordinate with SkyRise Corporation this afternoon."

"Alright."

Jerry left with the contract, only to be stopped by several familiar faces downstairs.

These were all heads of companies that had previously worked with Silvercrest Group but had fallen out due to Jesse.

"Mr. Simmons, can you help us get a meeting with Mr. Smith?"

"Yeah, Mr. Simmons, please put in a good word for us. Our companies are on the brink."

"Mr. Smith is being too harsh. We just didn't cooperate with Silvercrest Group, and now he's blocking all our paths."

Jerry sighed. "It's not that I don't want to help, but I can't. I have my own problems to solve. You're on your own."

With that, Jerry got in his car and left.

Watching his former partners, once so confident, now desperate in the cold, Jerry sighed. He was lucky to have come early and gotten another chance from Seb. If he had been late, he might be standing there with them.

As Jerry left, the group began to discuss.

"If even Mr. Simmons won't help, what do we do?"

"Are we really going to let our companies go bankrupt?"

"Seb is too ruthless. We just didn't cooperate, and now he's buying out our partners, forcing us to beg him."

They had refused to sell to Seb, and now he had bought out their key partners, leaving their products unsold and piling up in warehouses. Production had to stop, costing millions daily. No one could sustain such losses.

The group fell silent, their faces grim.

Suddenly, someone whispered, "Maybe we should go to Mr. Scott?"
