Chapter 600 Why Did We Break Up?

Sharon nodded, "Yeah, I just found out a few days ago."

Alton chuckled, "Well, that's double the joy then."

He turned to Seb, "You better take good care of her when you get back, or I won't let you off the hook."

He planned to visit once the baby was a month old.

"Of course, I will," Seb assured him.

The next morning, Sharon and her group boarded a flight back home. After a long flight, the plane landed smoothly at Metropolis Airport.

As soon as they disembarked, Sharon's priority was to see Demetrius.

They headed to the villa together, and as soon as they reached the front door, Sharon's eyes welled up with tears.

Seb held her gently, "Sharon, you're pregnant now. You need to stay calm."

Sharon wiped her tears. "I know, but I miss Demetrius so much."

"Let's go inside."

They walked into the villa, and as soon as they entered the living room, they saw Demetrius sitting on the couch, watching TV with a blank expression.

Sharon stared at him, afraid it was all a dream. She feared waking up back in Carolyn's estate, unable to escape.

"Demetrius." Finally, Sharon called out the name she had longed to say.

Demetrius turned his head sharply, and upon seeing Sharon and Seb, he was momentarily stunned before jumping off the couch and running towards them.

"Mom! Dad!"

Sharon knelt and embraced Demetrius, holding him close.

Only when she felt his small, soft body did she truly feel she was back with Demetrius.

Sharon hugged him tightly, her voice choked with emotion, "Demetrius, I'm so sorry. You must have been so scared while I was away."

Demetrius cried too, rubbing his eyes and shaking his head, "I wasn't scared. Dad told me you left because of me. I need to grow up quickly so I can protect you instead of you protecting me."

Sharon's heart broke hearing this. She felt both sorrow for Demetrius and anger towards Seb. She shot Seb a reproachful look, questioning why he had told Demetrius such things.

Seb rubbed his nose, feeling guilty, "Kids need to learn to handle pressure from a young age."

"I'll deal with you later."

After finally calming Demetrius down, Sharon went straight to Seb's study to confront him.

Seeing Sharon's serious expression, Seb quickly put down his papers and tried to soothe her.

"Sharon, don't be mad. I know I was wrong. I promise I won't tell him things like that again. Please forgive me this time, okay?"

Sharon pushed his hand away, annoyed, "Stay away from me! I'm not falling for your tricks!"

"Then what will you fall for?"

"Stop joking around. I told you before I left to take good care of Demetrius and not to tell him these things. What good did it do to tell him, other than making him worry and scared?"

Under Sharon's stern gaze, Seb felt like a child who had done something wrong, unable to meet her eyes.

"Sharon, I'm sorry. I wanted to go abroad to find you, but I was worried that if both of us were away, Demetrius would feel abandoned. So I told him everything. I promise I won't do it again. Please don't be mad. Seeing you angry makes me anxious."

Seeing Seb's cautious expression, Sharon's remaining anger dissipated.

"Alright, I'll forgive you this time. We need to spend more time with Demetrius to ensure he doesn't develop any psychological issues that could affect his future."

"Got it, mission accepted!"

Sharon couldn't help but smile, "Alright, I need to take my dad home later. You can get back to work."

"Why don't you let Dad stay here tonight?"

"I suggested that, but he insisted on going home. He's used to living there."

Seb nodded, "Okay, you're pregnant now. I'll take Dad home later."

"Let's take him together. You can drive."

"Sure."

Leaving Seb's study, Sharon went to the living room.

Robert was sitting on the couch, playing with Demetrius.

Sharon sat down next to them, "Dad, Seb and I will take you home later."

"No need, just call me a cab. I've already arranged for the housekeeper to meet me downstairs."

"I can't let you go alone. We'll take you ourselves. By the way, have you felt unwell while staying in Stellaria? If you have, I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow."

Robert shook his head, "No, Carolyn may have taken me there, but she made sure I got the best medical care. My health's actually gotten better."

Sharon couldn't help but laugh, "Maybe I should've let you stay there longer. You might've turned into Superman."

"Let's not joke about that. When I was stuck in that place, knowing Carolyn was using me to threaten you, I felt worse than death. If I hadn't been tied to the bed, I might've jumped out the window."

"Dad!" Sharon frowned, "Don't say stuff like that. You're gonna live a long life!"

Robert looked at her calmly, "Sharon, at my age, with my health, I've already made peace with the end. If my condition suddenly worsens, don't be too sad. Birth, aging, illness, and death are just part of life. "No one could be with someone forever."

"Dad, I can't accept that."

Seeing Sharon's red eyes, Robert patted her head, smiling, "Alright, you're a mom now. Don't cry so easily. I'm still here, aren't I?"

Robert just wanted to say goodbye properly while he was still in good health. His illness could take him at any time.

"Okay, but you can't say stuff like that anymore."

"Alright."

As they talked, Seb came out of the study.

Seeing Sharon's red eyes, he knelt beside her, "What's wrong? Why are your eyes so red?"

"Nothing, let's take Dad home."

They took Robert downstairs, where the housekeeper was already waiting.

After seeing him off, Sharon and Seb stayed for a while before leaving.

Back home, Sharon felt a pang of sadness seeing Demetrius struggling to stay awake in the living room. He was probably afraid they would leave again.

Seeing Sharon, Demetrius jumped off the couch and ran to her, "Mom, you're finally back. Can I sleep with you tonight?"

Sharon knelt down and gently said, "Of course."

"Thank you, Mom!"

For the next week, Demetrius slept with Sharon and Seb until he was sure they were back for good. Then he returned to his own room.

Sophie, knowing Sharon and Seb were back, drove straight to the villa.

Seeing Sharon, Sophie's eyes reddened, and she hugged her tightly.

"I thought you'd never come back. You didn't even tell me, just left secretly. Do you even consider me a friend?"

Sharon gently patted Sophie's back, "I didn't want to make you sad."

"Not wanting to make me sad means not telling me anything? You're a bad friend!"

"Alright, alright, I'm a bad friend. I apologize. Don't be mad, okay?"

After scolding Sharon, Sophie finally sat down on the couch.

"You're not going back to Stellaria, right?"

Sharon nodded, "No, I have no ties there anymore."

"Good. After you left, I learned about the Stoll family. Their internal conflicts are intense. With your personality, you might have been ambushed without knowing who did it."

"Let's not talk about that. How are things with Randy?"

Sophie snorted, "Don't mention him. We broke up. I recently met a new guy. Let me show you his picture."

Sophie pulled out her phone and showed Sharon a photo of her and the man.

Sharon glanced at it, feeling a strange familiarity, "Sophie, I don't know why the guy in the photo looks familiar. I don't think I've met him."

"You must be mistaken. I just met him recently."

"Maybe. I can't remember right now. Forget it, what happened with Randy? Why did you break up?"

Sophie's smile turned cold, "He kept meeting up with a female friend. Though there were other guys, I couldn't stand her. He refused to cut ties, so we broke up."

Thinking about seeing Randy with Electra several times, Sophie still felt annoyed. But now that she had dumped him, she didn't plan to dwell on it. There were plenty of men out there; losing one meant another was waiting nearby.

Sharon frowned, "Randy didn't seem like someone who couldn't prioritize."

Sophie rolled her eyes, "Who cares? We're done. He's not my problem anymore."

"True, I support you."

"Alright, enough about him. I like this new guy and want to win him over. Teach me how."

Sharon laughed, "I don't know how."

"If you don't, how did you make Seb so devoted to you? We're friends; don't keep secrets. Share your tricks. I'm having dinner with him tonight."
