Chapter 381 Miss, did you catch your husband cheating with someone else?

Sharon stopped in her tracks, her brow furrowing. What was it that she wasn't supposed to know about yet?

She was about to lean in closer when she heard footsteps coming from the office. Quickly, she stepped back a few paces.

The office door swung open, and Paul walked out. His eyes widened momentarily as he saw Sharon, a flicker of guilt flashing in his eyes. "Ms. Roach, when did you get here?"

"I just arrived. What's going on?"

Sharon's face was calm, but her hand clenched unconsciously. What was Seb hiding from her?

"Mr. Smith is waiting for you inside. I'll get back to work."

Paul hurried off, his pace noticeably quickening as he passed her.

Suppressing her suspicions, Sharon walked into the office.

"You're here. I had them make your favorite food today. I'll wash my hands, and then we can eat," Seb said.

"Okay." Sharon had already set out the food while Seb washed his hands.

Once he sat down across from her, Sharon casually asked, "Mr. Harris left in a hurry just now. Is there something urgent?"

Seb's hand paused as he held the fork, then he smiled. "Nothing much, just a contract issue."

Sharon lowered her gaze and said nothing more, but her mind was buzzing with doubts.

After lunch, instead of staying in Seb's office for her usual nap, she returned directly to her own office

All afternoon, Sharon kept thinking about what Seb could be hiding from her, but she had no clues. As the end of the workday approached, she received a message from Seb saying he had a social engagement that evening and would send a driver to pick her up.

Sharon frowned. Ever since she and Demetrius moved to the villa, Seb hadn't gone out for social engagements in the evening.

Could Seb's sudden engagement tonight be related to what happened at noon?

After thinking for a moment, Sharon replied to Seb, telling him not to send the driver because she didn't know how late she would get off work, and she would just take a cab home.

Putting away her phone, Sharon let out a sigh, feeling a heavy weight in her heart.

As soon as it was time to leave, Sharon quickly gathered her things and left.

Fortunately, today's experiment went smoothly and wrapped up half an hour before the end of the workday. Otherwise, Sharon might not have had time to follow Seb.

After hailing a cab downstairs, Sharon sat in the back seat, waiting for Seb to come out.

About ten minutes later, Seb's car emerged from the underground garage.

Sharon pointed to his car and said to the driver, "Can you follow that car?"

The driver glanced at her in the rearview mirror and asked, "Miss, are you going to catch your husband cheating?"

Sharon paused for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, so please don't lose him. Who knows when I'll get another chance."

"Got it! I've been driving a cab for over thirty years. I won't lose him!"

The cab followed the black Maybach through the city.

An hour later, the car in front finally stopped in front of a villa.

A woman in a light green dress with wavy hair pinned up walked out of the villa, revealing a slender, beautiful neck, as if she had stepped out of a painting.

She looked up at Seb, her eyes full of smiles, saying something to him. Seb looked down at her, his usually cold side profile softened, his lips slightly curved, seemingly in a good mood.

Sharon recognized the woman as Bernice, whom she had seen outside the restaurant the night before. Sharon's face immediately darkened.

Why would Seb say he had a social engagement when he was meeting his niece Bernice?

While Sharon was pondering, Seb and Bernice walked into the villa.

"Miss, is that woman the homewrecker?" the driver asked.

Sharon shook her head. "No, she's his niece."

The cab driver's gaze turned sympathetic, and he clearly saw Sharon as a foolish woman making excuses for her husband.

After calming herself, Sharon asked the driver to take her back home.

Confirming she wasn't going to catch her husband in the act, the driver started the car and left.

Meanwhile, inside the villa.

Seb followed Bernice to a bedroom on the first floor. Bernice opened the door. "Uncle Seb, Mr. Wright is inside."

"Okay."

Bernice intended to go in with him, but as soon as Seb entered, he closed the door.

The room had been converted into a small medical room, with various medical equipment and monitors by the bed. A man wearing a respirator lay on the bed.

The man looked old and frail, with graying hair, appearing at least sixty, though he was actually just over fifty.

As the man saw Seb, his hand moved slightly, causing the heart rate monitor clipped to his finger to tremble.

"Did you take me out of the nursing home?"

Seb nodded. "Yes."

The man lying in the bed was none other than Sharon's father, Robert.

However, in just five years, Robert looked like a man at death's door, with no vitality left.

Seb had only discovered that Leo had sent Robert to a nursing home a year ago while investigating Leo.

The nursing home had poor conditions. If Robert hadn't had a kidney transplant, he wouldn't have survived this long.

"Why did you do this? I don't need your help. Send me back." Robert stared intently at Seb, his eyes sunken and bulging.

Because he was so agitated, a strange red flush appeared on Robert's pale face.

If Seb hadn't gotten involved with Sharon, she wouldn't have fallen into the sea. Just thinking about it made Robert's heart ache with regret.

If Robert had believed Sharon and not told her to endure, maybe she wouldn't have died.

Robert hated Seb and the Smith family, but most of all, he hated himself.

"If you stay in the nursing home, you won't survive another six months." Seb explained.

"That's none of your business!" Robert tried to get out of bed, but his body was securely restrained, unable to move an inch.

Since his kidney transplant, Robert's body had been very weak, with less than half his former strength.

Seeing Robert so agitated, Seb darkened his gaze. "Don't you want to see Sharon again?"

"What?"

Robert's struggle ceased abruptly, as he stared at Seb in disbelief. "What do you mean by that? Is Sharon still alive?"

Though Robert knew it was impossible, he couldn't help but hold onto a sliver of hope. What if Sharon had miraculously survived?

"Yes, but she probably doesn't want to see you right now. And you wouldn't want to see her in this condition, would you?"
