Chapter 625 I Will Definitely Be Good to You for a Lifetime
Sharon was quiet for a moment before nodding. "Alright, if you ever need Seb to help figure out what Randy's thinking, just let me know."
"Will do. You've just had a baby, so the most important thing is to rest. Don't worry about our stuff."
"Okay."
Sophie stayed in the bedroom for a bit, but seeing that Sharon looked a little tired, she got up and left.
When she got downstairs, only Randy was in the living room.
She walked over to him and asked, "Where's Seb?"
"He's handling some work in the study. How's Sharon?"
"She's doing great, and the baby is adorable. Oh, I forgot to ask what the baby's name is. I only know the nickname, Bubbles."
Thinking of Bubbles' cute face, Sophie couldn't help but smile. She was already looking forward to the day Bubbles would call her.
Randy's eyes flickered. "Do you like kids a lot?"
"Of course. I said before that once Sharon had her baby, I would be the godmother."
Randy frowned slightly. "If you're the godmother, then what about me?"
Sophie looked puzzled. "What do you mean? You can be..."
Suddenly, Sophie realized something was off.
Seb was Randy's uncle, so Bubbles was technically Randy's cousin. If she became Bubbles' godmother and later married Randy, wouldn't that mess up the family hierarchy?
Would she have to call Sharon "Aunt" alongside Randy?
Just thinking about that scenario made Sophie shake her head quickly, feeling a shiver down her spine.
But no matter what, she couldn't be Bubbles' godmother now.
"Forget it, let's not think about it. It's giving me a headache. We came here in such a rush that I didn't get a proper gift for Bubbles. If you're free later, can you come with me to the mall to pick out some gifts?"
"Sure, I'm free this afternoon. I can go with you."
An hour later, Randy's car pulled up in front of the mall.
They got out and headed straight to the baby section. While Sophie was picking out clothes and bottles, Randy quietly watched from the side.
Watching Sophie compare several items and read the labels carefully, Randy could already imagine her picking out things for their child someday.
The thought made him smile unconsciously.
Just the idea of that future made him feel happy.
"Randy, Randy?"
Hearing Sophie's voice, Randy snapped back to reality and saw her standing next to him, looking puzzled.
"What's up? Did you pick something?"
Sophie looked helpless. "What were you daydreaming about? I was asking you which of these two outfits looks better."
She held up two baby onesies, one in light pink and the other in beige.
"I think the pink one looks nicer."
"Right? I thought so too. Let's get the pink one. I'll look at some other clothes."
Putting the pink one in the shopping basket, Sophie continued to browse the baby clothes.
Randy watched her, a smile playing on his lips.
It seemed like it was time for him and Sophie to start planning their wedding.
Their relationship had been stable for the past few months, with weekly dinners at each other's homes.
Every time they visited the Lee family, Maria would subtly hint that they should get married.
Randy thought Sophie didn't want to marry him since she never responded to Maria's hints, so he hadn't planned a proposal.
But seeing Sophie so excited about buying things for Bubbles made him start to look forward to married life and having a family with her.
After shopping for over three hours, Sophie and Randy left the mall with bags full of items.
After putting everything in the car, Sophie turned to Randy. "I'm starving. Let's find a place to eat."
Randy nodded. "Sure, what do you feel like eating?"
"Anything's fine. Is there a restaurant nearby? I don't want to go too far."
Randy thought for a moment. "I remember a restaurant nearby that I went to for a business meeting. It's pretty authentic. Want to try it?"
"Sounds good."
"It's about a ten-minute walk. Let's go."
As they walked to the restaurant, they passed a bridal shop. Sophie's gaze lingered on the wedding dresses in the window.
She wondered when she would get the chance to wear a wedding dress and marry the person she loved.
She glanced at Randy, who was walking ahead, focused on identifying the buildings to remember where the restaurant was.
After about ten minutes, they finally found the restaurant.
Once they were seated and had ordered, Randy noticed Sophie seemed a bit quiet.
"Sophie, are you okay? Are you tired from shopping?"
Sophie looked up at him slowly. "Randy, on our way here, we passed a bridal shop. I saw a beautiful wedding dress in the window."
"Do you want to go back and try it on after we eat?"
Seeing Randy's calm expression, with no hint of proposing, Sophie shook her head. "Nah, it's fine. Just looking at it is enough. It might not even fit."
"How do you know it won't fit if you don't try it on? Let's go back and try it after we eat. If you like it, we'll buy it."
After a moment of silence, Sophie couldn't hold back anymore. "Randy, do you know what wearing a wedding dress means?"
If he didn't understand what Sophie was hinting at, he would be a fool.
Randy frowned, stood up, and said, "Sophie, I need to take care of something. Wait here for me."
With that, he quickly walked towards the door.
Sophie watched him leave, feeling confused.
What did he mean by that? Was he running away because he didn't want to respond to her?
If that was the case, she wouldn't let him off easily!
After waiting for nearly an hour, with all the dishes served, Randy still hadn't returned. Sophie's patience was wearing thin.
She took a deep breath, feeling that Randy probably wasn't coming back.
Looking at the delicious food on the table, she felt no appetite despite being hungry.
She couldn't believe Randy was such a coward. Even if he didn't want to marry her, he didn't have to run away like that.
He even told her to wait for him. What a liar!
Sophie grabbed her bag and stood up to leave.
Suddenly, the restaurant lights went out, plunging the place into darkness.
Sophie lowered her head, searching for her phone in her bag.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a light approaching.
She looked up and saw Randy walking towards her with a light.
When he reached her, she frowned. "Where did you go? I've been waiting for you for so long. And what are you hiding behind your back?"
Randy placed his phone face down on the table and brought out a bouquet from behind his back, then knelt on one knee.
"Sophie, I was planning to create a perfect, romantic proposal for you. But when you asked me what wearing a wedding dress meant, I knew I couldn't wait any longer."
"Before I met you, my life was all about work. I never stopped for anyone, nor did I care about the sunrise and sunset or the phases of the moon. But after meeting you, everything changed."
"I started looking forward to saying good morning to you every day, to sharing every meal with you, to becoming the person who stands by your side for life. Sophie, I want us to wake up to each other every morning and hug each other every night before we sleep."
"Will you marry me?"
Seeing the ring he held out to her, Sophie's eyes filled with tears, and her throat felt choked, unable to speak. She could only nod with tears in her eyes.
Randy's cautious expression turned to joy and excitement. With trembling hands, he took the ring from the box and slowly placed it on Sophie's ring finger.
"Sophie, I promise to treat you well for the rest of my life!"
The next morning, Sophie drove to the villa to deliver the gifts she had bought.
Sharon was in disbelief when she saw the dozens of outfits Sophie had bought.
"Why did you buy so many? She can't possibly wear all of them!"
Babies grew quickly, and what fit this month might not fit next month.
With all the clothes Sophie bought, Bubbles could wear a different outfit every day for a month and still not repeat.
"She'll wear as many as she can. Don't you know? A girl's wardrobe always needs new clothes. Oh, and I have some good news to share."
"What good news?"
Sophie held out her left hand, showing off her ring with a beaming smile.
Seeing the ring on her finger, Sharon's eyes widened in surprise.
"You guys moved fast! Weren't you just saying yesterday that you didn't know when you'd get married?"
"Yeah, but last night, while we were looking for a restaurant, we passed a bridal shop. I mentioned how beautiful the wedding dresses were and asked if he knew what wearing a wedding dress meant. He proposed right then and there. It was a bit sudden, but he was so sincere, so I said yes!"
Seeing the happiness on Sophie's face, Sharon said, "Sophie, congratulations! You've finally found your happiness!"
"Yeah, but there's one downside."
"What's that?" Sharon asked, puzzled.
"I can't be Bubbles' godmother anymore. Otherwise, when I marry Randy, the family hierarchy will be all messed up."
Sharon couldn't help but laugh. "Why don't you call me 'Aunt' now to get used to it?"
Catching the teasing tone in her voice, Sophie retorted, "Calling you 'Aunt' means I get a gift. Have you prepared my gift yet?"
