Chapter 59 She Is Unwilling
Seb's face changed, and he asked coldly, "What's going on?"
Paul said, "Her place is a mess. Her phone is on the couch, but she's not there."
Seb said, "Find out immediately."
In less than half an hour, Paul found out that Sharon had been kidnapped by Eugene and immediately informed Seb.
As the unlicensed van entered the city, it was stopped.
Seeing the dozen or so men in black surrounding the car, Anthony was stunned for a moment. He opened the door and got out, just about to ask what was going on, when someone kicked him hard, forcing him to his knees.
He screamed in pain. The agony in his shattered knee made his face pale and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Paul's expression was icy. "Where did you take her?"
A flicker of panic flashed in Anthony's eyes, and he quickly shook his head. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
Paul sneered, "Don't you understand? Then we'll beat you until you do."
As soon as he finished speaking, the men in black swarmed over, and screams of pain echoed.
In less than five minutes, Anthony cried out, "Stop, I'll talk."
Paul signaled the bodyguards to stop and squatted down in front of Anthony. "Where is she?"
Anthony said, "At that rundown building eight miles east of the city."
Paul frowned.
The dilapidated hotel on the east side, once a businessman's dream, now stood abandoned after funds ran dry. It was a desolate, seldom-visited relic.
Paul asked, "Why did you kidnap her?"
Fearing another beating, Anthony spilled everything.
He thought Paul would let him go after he talked, but Paul had him sent to the police station instead.
After dealing with Anthony, Paul walked over to the car to report to Seb.
He said, "Mr. Smith, He confessed. He took Ms. Wright to that abandoned hotel eight miles out of town."
"He's clueless about Ms. Wright. His long-lost relative, Eugene, surfaced out of nowhere, offering him a cool two hundred grand to kidnap her. Oh, and Eugene? He's the dad of Elizabeth, the same colleague who blew up Ms. Wright's lab.."
As soon as he finished speaking, the black Maybach shot out.
Paul was stunned for a moment and quickly got into the car to follow.
Meanwhile, Sharon grabbed a flashlight and ran downstairs, but Eugene quickly caught up and grabbed her.
He snatched the flashlight from her hand and punched her hard in the stomach.
Sharon felt like her insides had shifted, and she spat out blood. The pain left her weak and unable to resist.
At that moment, she felt utterly hopeless.
She knew no one would come to save her.
She might really die here tonight.
She was unwilling.
She didn't want to die.
She tried to struggle, but a sharp pain in her neck made her black out.
The sound of high heels echoed from the stairs as Irene, holding a knife, walked towards them with a grim expression. "If you had tied her up properly, she wouldn't have had a chance to escape. You're really useless."
Eugene remained silent, lost in thought.
Standing in front of them, Irene looked coldly at the unconscious Sharon. "I hate petty tricksthe most, but this time, your cleverness won't save you."
She raised the knife towards Sharon's neck, but Eugene grabbed her wrist before she could make contact.
"Eugene, what are you doing?" Irene asked.
Eugene said, "She can't die yet."
Irene's eyes flashed with disbelief, and she gritted her teeth. "Didn't you believe her lies earlier, thinking I wanted to stay out of this? Now that I'm ready to kill her, you won't let me!"
"Until I see the money, I won't trust you." Eugene had figured out that her goal was to kill Sharon, not to help him get the money to save Melissa and Elizabeth.
If Sharon kicked the bucket, he wouldn't see a dime. Worse, Irene could pin the murder on him. Powerless and without influence, and with Elizabeth cooped up at the station, he stood no chance against Irene.
So keeping Sharon alive was more beneficial to Eugene.
Irene said, "You're crazy. Alex might already know we kidnapped her. The longer we wait, the worse it will be for us."
Eugene said, "If I see the money, you can do whatever you want with her."
"It's the middle of the night. How am I supposed to transfer money? We have to wait until the bank opens in the morning!" Irene was furious.
Eugene, like Elizabeth, was only causing her trouble.
And even if she transferred the money, she could only use an overseas account; otherwise, it would be discovered.
Eugene said, "I don't care. I want the money."
As they argued, a light approached from a distance.
Irene's expression changed, and she said coldly, "Quick, take her to the top floor!"
Eugene realized the gravity of the situation and stopped arguing, dragging Sharon upstairs.
Before long, they hit the top floor - nothing more than the fifth floor of this rundown hotel.
Standing on the fifth floor, they could clearly see a dozen cars speeding towards them.
Their kidnapping of Sharon had been exposed! But no matter how fast Alex arrived, as long as Sharon was in her hands, Irene wouldn't lose!
"Give her to me!" She looked coldly at Eugene, but he didn't move.
"Irene, you ordered me to kidnap her. Transfer the five million dollars you promised to my account now, or I won't give her to you!"
Irene lowered her gaze, noticing the edge of the rooftop a few steps behind Eugene. She tightened her grip on the knife, her eyes flashing coldly.
Since Eugene wouldn't listen, he was useless to her.
Irene took a deep breath and said slowly, "Fine, I'll transfer the money now."
She took out her phone and pretended to operate it.
A few seconds later, Irene looked at Eugene. "Eugene, it's done. Check your phone."
Hearing the message alert, Eugene released Sharon, who collapsed weakly to the ground.
As he took out his phone and opened the message, Irene suddenly charged at him. "Go to hell!"
By the time Eugene sensed the danger, it was too late. He stumbled back, stepping off the edge and falling from the rooftop.
His body hit the concrete with a dull thud.
Seb had just gotten out of the car when he saw a figure fall from the rooftop, his face darkened instantly.
He quickly walked towards the twitching figure on the ground, his hands clenched at his sides, his face tense, and a wave of panic surged in his heart.
Seeing it wasn't Sharon, Seb sighed in relief, only to realize his palms were sweaty.
Paul caught up with Seb and glanced at the person on the ground, saying in a low voice, "Mr. Smith, that's Eugene. Ms. Wright should be upstairs."
Seb said nothing and quickly walked into the hotel.
At that moment, on the rooftop.
After pushing Eugene down, Irene's expression turned manic.
She knew she had no way out.
Turning to see Sharon waking up and crawling towards the stairs, Irene smiled and slowly walked over, squatting beside her.
She said, "Sharon, you never thought you'd be this pathetic, did you?"
Irene wasn't in a hurry to kill Sharon now. She wanted to torment Sharon, to repay all the humiliation she had suffered.
She added, "Where should I stab first? How about the hand?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Irene raised the knife and stabbed it into the back of Sharon's hand.
