Chapter 198 Just Thinking About It Makes Me Uncomfortable

Seeing the mockery in Sharon's eyes, Ava sneered and followed the sales assistant to swipe her card.

After buying the dress, she walked up to Sharon, chin slightly raised, eyes full of contempt.

"This card's from Alex, no limit. I could buy this whole store if I wanted!"

Sharon nodded. "Sure, but would Alex still back you if you did?"

Ava's face tightened for a moment. "None of your business. Alex and this dress are mine now."

"I don't care. That dress is the smallest size; it probably won't fit you. Plus, anything you've touched made me sick. Even if you hadn't bought it, I wouldn't want it."

The thought of Ava touching Sophie's birthday gift disgusted Sharon.

Anger flashed in Ava's eyes, and she glared at Sharon like she wanted to kill her.

'This bitch Sharon is provoking me on purpose!' Ava thought.

Now, the dress in her hand felt more like a symbol of her humiliation.

Ava's fingers turned white as she clutched her handbag. "Sharon, don't get cocky. Without Seb, you're easy to deal with!"

Sharon raised an eyebrow, about to reply when Alex walked in.

Seeing Sharon, Alex's face looked awkward. He had just told Sharon a few days ago that he would divorce Ava. But now, he couldn't, and his company might depend on her.

Alex walked over to Ava and said quietly, "What are you doing here? Weren't you buying something for the baby?"

Seeing Alex, Ava clung to his arm, regaining her arrogant demeanor.

"Alex, I saw this dress and didn't expect Ms. Wright to try to snatch it from me. I told her I saw it first, but she mocked me, saying I always take things from her."

Ava looked aggrieved, putting on a show. If Sharon didn't know the truth, she might have believed her.

Alex looked at the dress and said softly, "Since you got the dress, let's go. I have a meeting later."

Ava shook off his hand, tears welling up. "Do you still have feelings for Sharon? Is that why you want to smooth things over when she bullies me?"

Ava's loud voice drew attention.

Alex felt embarrassed. He looked down at her, anger in his eyes.

"I just don't want to waste time on this nonsense. Let's go."

"Nonsense? Alex, you never explained why you were hugging her last time. If you still have feelings for her, let's get a divorce. I'll let you go so you can be with her!"

As soon as Ava said this, people started whispering.

"Wow, so pretty. Who knew she was just a mistress?"

"Mistresses these days are so shameless, even confronting the wife."

"Shopping and a drama show, this trip was worth it!"

The comments got nastier, mocking and insulting Sharon.

Ava's lips curled up. As Alex's wife, ruining Sharon's reputation was easy!

Alex frowned and gritted his teeth. "Had enough? Do you need to embarrass yourself in public to be happy?"

"If you had my back, would I be making a scene?"

Alex was speechless, facing Ava's questioning look.

After a moment, he turned to Sharon. "Sharon, why don't you apologize to Ava and end this?"

Sharon sneered. "Apologize to her? She's not worth it."

"Not worth it? I wasn't wrong about you hugging Alex. I have photos. Want to see them?"

Sharon's eyes turned cold. "Ava, stop saying 'hugging.' You were the mistress who wrecked my marriage with Alex. Now you're married to him, have you forgotten what you did?"

"As for that photo, ask Alex what really happened. I'm not interested in trash."

"And you said I tried to snatch the dress from you. Did you forget there are surveillance cameras in the mall? Should I get the footage to see who was snatching from whom? But both the dress and the man, I don't want anything you've touched because I find it disgusting!"

Ava's face turned pale, then red. She instinctively retorted, "You're talking nonsense!"

"I have a video of Alex cheating with you. Want me to play it for everyone?"

Ava gritted her teeth. She didn't want that, but seeing Sharon's confident face, she couldn't suppress her anger.

Especially since the disdainful looks from earlier were now directed at her.

Ava was about to speak when Alex grabbed her and pulled her aside.

"Let go of me!"

Alex ignored her until they reached a corner, then let her go.

"Alex, did you see the stares we were getting? If you drag me away like this, people will think we're guilty!"

Alex looked at her coldly. "Better they think we're guilty than for her to play our sex video in public!"

"But I'm not willing to let this go!"

"What is there to be unwilling about? I'm married to you. She's just a stranger now. Why provoke her?"

Alex's eyes were full of anger, as if he might strangle Ava. His gaze was terrifying.

Ava took a step back, tears welling up. "Why do I provoke her? Don't you know? If you didn't love her, I wouldn't care. But can you guarantee you have no feelings for her anymore?"

"We're over."

"As long as you still like her, it's not over."

Seeing Ava's unreasonable behavior, Alex lost his patience.

"Then go back and argue with her. Argue all you want. I'm going back to my meeting."

With that, Alex turned and left.

Ava gritted her teeth, watching his back, eyes full of anger.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she stomped her foot and chased after him.

On the other side, after Ava and Alex left, Sharon shopped a bit more. Not finding any dresses she liked, she went straight home.

As soon as she got home, she saw Leo standing at her door.

Sharon frowned and walked up. "What's up?"

Seeing the indifference on Sharon's face, Leo's eyes darkened.

"My friend gave me two invitations to a jewelry auction today. Thought you might be interested. Want to go together?"
