Chapter 550 Still Feel Heartache When Thinking About It
After Seb finished speaking, the entire conference room fell silent.
After a moment, one of the shareholders stood up and said, "Mr. Smith, you mentioned that you can't be sure if Silvercrest Group will survive. If Silvercrest Group goes bankrupt, I'll lose everything. I came to this meeting today to hear what you had to say, and now that I've heard it, I've decided to sell my shares."
With that, he turned and left.
Following his departure, several other shareholders also stood up, announcing their intention to sell their shares.
Soon, only seven or eight people remained in the room. Seeing that no one else was leaving, Seb spoke up, "Are the remaining shareholders willing to stay and face the challenges with the company?"
The shareholder sitting next to him nodded, "Yes, I'm willing to stay. The company has weathered many storms over the years. I believe we can overcome this challenge too!"
The other shareholders nodded in agreement, expressing their willingness to stay.
Seb's gaze swept across their faces, and he stood up and bowed to them.
"Thank you all for believing in me and the company at this time. I will do my best to ensure that you are not disappointed."
After the meeting ended, Seb returned to his office and immediately dialed Daniel's number.
"What are you doing right now? If you're free, come to Silvercrest Group immediately."
Half an hour later, Daniel knocked on the office door and walked in, sitting directly across from Seb.
"Mr. Smith, what's the urgent matter?"
"How is the Thomas Group doing right now?"
Hearing Seb mention the Thomas Group, a wary look flashed in Daniel's eyes. "It's doing alright. Why do you ask?"
"I remember the Thomas Group recently invested billions of dollars in developing electric vehicles."
"Yes, that's correct. Why? Are you interested, Mr. Smith?"
"I just want to advise you that once you start investing in electric vehicle development, the subsequent investments will only increase. Given the Thomas Group's capabilities, investing so much effort in car manufacturing is not worth it. I suggest you cut your losses in time."
Daniel chuckled, "Mr. Smith, I appreciate your advice, but I don't plan to change my mind. If you have time, you should focus more on dealing with Jesse. If it's anything related to Jesse, you can always come to me. I'll do whatever I can, since we're on the same side now."
"Alright, I'm currently investigating Jesse. Do you know which companies in Metropolis have connections with him?"
After thinking for a moment, Daniel picked up a pen and paper from Seb's desk, wrote down a few company names, and handed the paper to him.
"These are the ones I know of, but given Jesse's capabilities, there are certainly more."
"Got it. If there's nothing else, you can leave."
Daniel didn't waste any words and left immediately.
As he reached the door, he suddenly turned back and said in a low voice, "By the way, Mr. Smith, I want to remind you to be cautious of your niece. I've heard she's been closely interacting with these companies."
With that, he turned and left.
After the office returned to silence, Seb looked down at the paper Daniel had given him. Seeing that several of the companies listed had previously collaborated with Silvercrest Group, his expression darkened.
He called Paul into the office and said coldly, "Keep an eye on the heads of these companies, as well as Bernice and Garry."
"Understood, Mr. Smith. Should we continue with the plan against the Bridges Group?"
"Yes."
Time flew by, and soon it was evening.
After reviewing the last contract, Seb picked up his phone and dialed Sharon's number. "Sharon, I'll come pick you up later. We're going out for dinner tonight."
Sharon had just picked up Demetrius and raised an eyebrow at his words, "What about Demetrius?"
"Tonight is just for the two of us. We'll bring Demetrius next time."
"Alright, I understand. I'll take Demetrius home first."
"Okay, see you soon."
After hanging up, Seb smiled, grabbed his coat, and left.
Half an hour later, he parked his car in front of the villa and dialed Sharon's number.
"Sharon, I'm at the front door."
"Okay, I'm coming out."
Soon, Sharon appeared in his view.
She was wearing a brown cashmere coat, a camel-colored V-neck sweater, and a matching skirt. Her long curly hair was down, and although she wore light makeup, her delicate and beautiful features were striking, making it hard to look away.
Seb's eyes deepened as he stared at Sharon, watching her slowly approach.
Sharon reached the car and opened the door, meeting Seb's intense gaze and pausing for a moment.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You look beautiful today."
It was clear that Sharon had taken the time to dress up that afternoon.
Sharon smiled as she got into the car, "Thank you for the compliment. You look handsome today too."
Only after she closed the door and fastened her seatbelt did Seb start the car.
"By the way, what are we having for dinner tonight?"
"French cuisine."
"Sounds good."
Half an hour later, Seb's car stopped in front of a high-end French restaurant.
As soon as they got out, a valet approached.
Seb handed the car keys to the valet and led Sharon inside.
Just as they reached the entrance, a voice called out from behind.
"Mr. Smith, what a coincidence. I didn't expect to see you here tonight."
Seb and Sharon turned around simultaneously to see Jesse. Both of their brows furrowed slightly.
"Mr. Scott, I don't think we're familiar enough to greet each other."
Seb looked at him coldly, his eyes devoid of warmth.
Jesse raised an eyebrow and smiled, "A few more greetings and we'll be familiar. By the way, I heard the Bridges Group and Silvercrest Group terminated their contract. Silvercrest Group is currently looking for partners. My company's recent business direction aligns with Silvercrest Group's. If you're interested, Mr. Smith, we could consider a collaboration."
"No thanks. Besides, it's after work hours, and I don't plan to discuss business. We have other plans, so we'll be going now."
With that, Seb led Sharon into the restaurant.
Jesse didn't stop them, but a meaningful smile played on his lips.
After they were seated in a private room, Sharon looked at Seb, "Seb, is the company facing difficulties recently?"
Seb handed her the menu, "It's nothing major. We've been through tougher times. This is nothing. Tonight, we're here to celebrate our marriage, not to discuss other matters. Let's just enjoy our celebration."
Knowing he didn't want her to worry, Sharon lowered her gaze and started looking at the menu.
But she couldn't help feeling anxious, fearing something might happen to Seb's company.
When Silvercrest Group almost went bankrupt before, Seb was in such a bad state that it still made her heart ache to think about it.
