Chapter 613 Will Definitely Give Up on Sophie Completely
Sharon paused for a moment, then reached out to take it.
"Can I open it now?"
Alton nodded, "Sure thing."
Sharon opened the box to reveal a stunning ruby necklace, surrounded by diamonds, sparkling like stars around the moon. It was so beautiful that she couldn't take her eyes off it.
"It's gorgeous, thank you."
"As long as you like it. By the way, where's Demetrius?"
"He should be in the hall."
Alton smiled, "Great, I'll go look for him."
After Alton left, Sophie, still in awe, asked, "Sharon, who was that guy? I saw this necklace in the news recently. It was auctioned off for two billion dollars by some mysterious buyer. I can't believe I saw it in person today!"
Sharon was taken aback. She hadn't realized the necklace was so expensive.
She looked at the necklace again. Aside from being beautiful, it didn't seem particularly special.
"Are you sure this necklace is worth two billion dollars?"
Sophie nodded vigorously, "Yes, this necklace was a token of love between Queen Emberlyn and her husband. He designed it himself, symbolizing a once-in-a-lifetime love. The guy who gave it to you must be wishing you and Seb a long and happy marriage. But what's your relationship with him? He gave you such an expensive necklace!"
Meeting Sophie's curious gaze, Sharon pursed her lips and said slowly, "He's my cousin. But I didn't know the necklace was so valuable until you mentioned it."
If she had known it was so expensive, she wouldn't have accepted it.
Sophie, being Sharon's longtime friend, could tell what she was thinking.
"Sharon, don't overthink it. If your cousin can give you such a necklace, it means he can afford it and genuinely wishes you happiness. But when did you suddenly have a cousin?"
As they walked into the dressing room, Sharon briefly explained how she met Alton.
After hearing the story, Sophie couldn't help but sigh, "Your cousin seems really nice."
Even though they hadn't met or spent time together before, Alton giving her such a valuable wedding gift showed he truly considered Sharon family.
"It's just that his gift is too expensive. When he gets married, I'll have to give him something equally valuable. Just thinking about it gives me a headache."
Sophie chuckled, "You're not making a trade with him. Just give him the best gift you can afford when the time comes."
Sharon thought about it and agreed, nodding, "You're right. I'll think about what to give him later."
After changing clothes, they returned to the hall, where Sharon and Seb went around toasting each table.
The wedding ended around six in the evening.
Sharon was exhausted and fell asleep while removing her makeup.
When she woke up again, she found herself back at the villa, already changed into pajamas. Surprised, she got out of bed.
After freshening up, she went downstairs. Dana immediately approached her, "Ms. Roach... I mean, Mrs. Smith, are you hungry? The kitchen has kept some food warm."
Sharon looked at her, "I'm not hungry, Dana. You can call me the same as before. I'm not used to the new title yet."
Dana smiled, "You'll get used to it in time."
"By the way, where's Seb?"
"Mr. Smith drank quite a bit and didn't want the smell of alcohol to bother you, so he went to sleep in the study."
"And Demetrius?"
"He's already asleep."
Sharon nodded and headed to the study.
At the study door, she gently pushed it open and saw Seb asleep on the couch. She tiptoed in.
The couch in the study was small, perfect for Sharon to nap on while reading, but Seb, being tall, looked cramped lying on it.
Sharon walked over and saw that Seb hadn't even taken off his tie, just lying there asleep. Her heart ached a little.
Seb must have been very busy preparing for the wedding.
Sharon carefully removed Seb's tie, unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt, and covered him with a blanket before leaving the study.
Not feeling sleepy, she decided to sit in the living room for a while.
As soon as she sat down on the couch, Dana brought her a blanket.
"Mrs. Smith, it's chilly at night. You should wear more."
"Dana, you can go rest. I'm not sleepy yet and just want to sit here for a bit."
"Mrs. Smith, I'll stay with you."
Seeing it was already past eleven, Sharon didn't want Dana to stay up with her. She got up and said, "It is a bit cold down here. I'll go back to bed. You should rest early too, Dana."
"Yes, Mrs. Smith."
Back in the bedroom, Sharon picked up her phone and saw that Sophie had sent her many pictures from the wedding.
After looking through them and saving each one, she sent Sophie a message.
[Sophie, thank you. You worked hard today!]
She also transferred $100,000 to Sophie.
Meanwhile, Sophie was at a bar drinking with Saul and hadn't seen Sharon's message.
Holding a bottle, Sophie's cheeks were flushed, her eyes dreamy, looking incredibly alluring under the dim lights.
Saul watched her, his gaze deepening.
"Sophie, you're drunk. Let me take you home."
Sophie shook her head, "No, I'm not drunk. I can still drink. I'm happy today. I'll pay. Let's keep drinking!"
Saul frowned and reached for the bottle in her hand, but Sophie wouldn't let go. In the struggle, she slipped and fell into Saul's arms.
Her face hit his chest hard, and she winced in pain.
"So hard!"
She rubbed her sore face and tried to push Saul away, but her movements were slow and weak from the alcohol.
Instead of pushing, it felt more like she was caressing him.
Feeling Sophie's soft hand moving on his chest, Saul's body tensed.
He grabbed her wandering hand, his voice hoarse, "Sophie, stop. I can't guarantee what will happen next if you don't."
Sophie looked up at him, her eyes confused, "What are you saying?"
The alcohol had slowed her brain, and she couldn't understand what Saul was saying.
Saul sighed and covered her eyes with his hand.
If she kept looking at him like that, he might really lose control.
After all, he was a normal adult man.
Did Sophie think he wouldn't dare do anything to her? Or did she not see him as a man at all, just a plaything?
Suddenly, Saul's phone rang.
Seeing the number, a look of disgust flashed in his eyes.
He didn't want to answer, but for his mother's medical bills, he had no choice.
Placing Sophie on the couch, he stepped out of the room to take the call.
"Saul, tomorrow is the deadline for your mom's medical bills. You haven't made any progress. Do you not want the money anymore? Or have you hooked up with Sophie and don't need it?"
"Too bad Sophie doesn't know your true intentions. Should I tell her?"
Saul's head hung low, his eyes dark, "I'll send the photos soon."
He hung up and put his phone away. Instead of returning to the room immediately, he leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.
The smoke blurred his features, hiding his expression.
His life seemed shrouded in a thick shadow from the moment he was born, no matter how hard he struggled.
His phone beeped with a message from Electra.
[Saul, your mom's in the ICU. Her daily medical and hospital bills are in the thousands. You can't earn that much even if you sell your blood and kidneys. All you need to do is take a few bed photos with Sophie. It's not a big deal. Don't tell me you've fallen for her. Remember your place. She won't like someone like you!]
Saul read the message, deleted it, and stubbed out his cigarette before returning to the room.
In his absence, Sophie had drunk another bottle.
Hearing the door, she looked up and smiled when she saw Saul.
"You're back!"
Saul paused, then quickly walked over to her.
"Sophie, it's late. Let me take you home."
Sophie blinked, seeming to consider his words.
After a while, she nodded and held out her hand, "Okay, help me up."
Looking at her delicate hand, Saul's throat tightened. He slowly reached out and took it.
After helping her up, he realized she couldn't stand and was practically hanging on him. So he picked her up and carried her out.
Through the noisy crowd, they quickly left the bar.
The cold wind made Sophie instinctively snuggle closer to him.
"Cold."
"It'll be warm soon."
Standing at the bar's entrance for a moment, Saul seemed to make a decision and headed to a nearby hotel.
An hour later, Electra looked at the photos Saul sent and smirked.
She made a call, "Pay Saul's mother's hospital bills for next month."
There was a brief silence before a low voice responded.
"Yes, Ms. Ross."
After hanging up, Electra thought for a moment and decided to anonymously send the photos to Randy. Once Randy saw them, he'd surely give up on Sophie!
Meanwhile, in the hotel.
Saul looked at the kiss marks on Sophie's chest and neck, his emotions complex.
When he placed her on the bed, he had a moment of wanting to make it real.
But at the last moment, he restrained himself, quickly took the photos, and dressed her again.
He had approached Sophie with ulterior motives. If he took advantage of her while she was drunk, she'd never forgive him when she found out the truth.
Stopping now might still leave room for her forgiveness.
At nine in the morning.
As Sophie woke up, her head throbbed.
She sat up, rubbing her temples, and memories of the previous night slowly returned.
"Sophie, you're awake?"
