Chapter 170 They Are All So Arrogant

"Leo sees you like a sister, so he wouldn't say it directly. But he told the girl he was on a date with that she was his girlfriend."

"Leo just got back to the States and doesn't know anyone in Metropolis. If he didn't take you on the date, then who?"

Sharon's eyes flickered as she looked at Karen. "Karen, why are you pushing Leo to date when he just got back and hasn't even settled into his job yet?"

Karen sneered, her tone sharp. "Leo isn't like you. You've been married before and can just find any guy later on. I have to worry more about him. If you have nothing better to do, stay away from him so you don't mess up his love life!"

Sharon's gaze turned cold, and just as she was about to speak, the chair next to her was pulled out.

Sharon instinctively turned her head and saw Seb sitting down beside her.

Seb had a smile on his lips, but his eyes were cold, sending a chill down one's spine.

"Mrs. Wright, what did you just say? I didn't catch that. Why don't you repeat it?"

Facing Seb's icy gaze, Karen lost her earlier arrogance and forced a smile.

Now that Leo was working at Silvercrest Group, offending Seb could mean trouble for Leo.

"Mr. Smith, I was just chatting with Sharon."

Seb looked at Karen coldly. "What kind of chat makes you say she can just find any guy later on? Have you forgotten you're also divorced and have a son from that marriage?"

Karen's smile froze, and her face turned ugly.

She hadn't expected Seb to speak so harshly.

The atmosphere turned awkwardly silent for a few seconds before Karen forced a smile. "Mr. Smith, that's not what I meant. It's because I've been divorced that I know how hard it is for a divorced woman, so..."

"So you decided to kick her when she's down?"

Karen was speechless.

She looked at Sharon, who had a cold expression, and felt embarrassed. "Sharon, please explain to Mr. Smith that he misunderstood me."

Sharon smiled slightly, stood up, and looked at Karen, speaking clearly, "Karen, we all know what you meant. If there's nothing important, please don't look for me in the future, so you don't mess up your own life."

After saying that, Sharon turned and left.

"Mr. Smith, I..."

Seb interrupted Karen, "Mrs. Wright, if I see or hear about you doing anything to Sharon again, Leo can forget about making it in Metropolis!"

Seb's cold gaze made Karen shiver involuntarily, her face turning pale, and she couldn't utter a single word.

Seeing her fearful expression, Seb couldn't be bothered to stay any longer and got up to follow Sharon.

He stopped Sharon in front of the elevator and said in a deep voice, "Keep your distance from Leo in the future."

Sharon looked down at the descending floor numbers of the elevator and didn't respond, pretending not to hear.

Seb frowned, his voice growing colder, "Did you hear me?"

His commanding tone made Sharon frown involuntarily, but she still didn't speak.

Seb laughed angrily. "Do you think ignoring me means I can't do anything to you?"

He grabbed Sharon's hand and pulled her into the nearby staircase.

"What are you doing? Let go of me!"

Sharon glared at him, eyes filled with disgust. "I thought you said you'd never speak to me again."

Seb pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

Sharon slapped his hand away. "Mr. Smith, I have nothing to say to you. Besides, what you're doing could be seen as harassment. If you don't want me to call the police, let go..."

Before she could finish, Seb kissed her.

Sharon was stunned for a moment, then bit him hard, tasting blood.

Seb let go, his face dark. "What the hell is wrong with you"

Seeing his bleeding lip, Sharon sneered. "Touch me again, and this is just the beginning."

Seb wiped the blood from his mouth and raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say I was harassing you? I might as well make it true, or else I'd be taking the blame for nothing."

"Can you let go of me now?"

"As long as you promise to keep your distance from Leo, I'll let you go immediately."

Sharon nodded. "Fine, as long as you also stay away from Grace, I'll agree."

Seb's smile froze, and he frowned. "Sharon, I told you, give me three months."

"I also told you, I won't wait. From the moment you lied to me, it was over between us."

"You heard how harsh Karen's words were today. If I hadn't been there, you..."

Sharon interrupted him coldly, "If you hadn't meddled, I could have handled it myself. Next time, please ignore it. I don't want people to think we're still together. I can't bear the title of mistress."

Seb remained silent, his face dark, but his grip on her wrist tightened unconsciously.

Feeling the pain, Sharon frowned and said irritably, "Do you want to break my hand?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to."

Taking advantage of Seb's momentary loosening of his grip, Sharon shook off his hand and turned to leave.

Seb didn't follow her into the elevator, and Sharon finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking down at her reddened wrist, Sharon's mood worsened.

'Flirting with Grace while asking me to wait, do all the Smith men think I can't live without them?' she mused.

After Alex's betrayal, love was no longer that important to Sharon. She could even weigh the pros and cons and give up immediately if Seb hurt her.

Sharon returned to the lab and ran into Leo, who was rushing out.

Seeing Sharon, he breathed a sigh of relief and quickly asked, "Why did Karen suddenly come to see you?"

Thinking of Karen, Sharon remembered the harsh words Karen had said to her.

She wasn't a saint; she couldn't just let Karen's words slide.

Sharon looked up at Leo, her expression indifferent. "She said I'm a divorced woman and should keep my distance from you to avoid messing up your love life. I think she's right. We should cut down on unnecessary contact moving forward."

Leo's face stiffened, and he frowned. "I didn't know she would say something like that. Don't take it to heart. I'll find a chance to explain."

Sharon didn't say anything more and walked into her office with a cold face.
