Chapter 257 Turning the World Upside Down
An hour later, Leo barged into the CEO's office at Silvercrest Group, looking like he was about to explode.
A bunch of security guards trailed behind him, but they were useless.
Leo stormed up to Seb's desk, fists clenched, and slammed them down hard. He grabbed Seb by the collar, eyes blazing.
"Seb, you killed Sharon. How can you sit there all chill like nothing happened? I ain't letting you off the hook!"
Seb brushed Leo's hand away, giving him a cold stare.
"Get out."
Leo sneered, spitting out each word, "This ain't over. Just you wait!"
With that, Leo spun around and stormed out.
Seb watched him leave, face like a stone.
Paul stood shaking by the door, "Mr. Smith, I'm sorry."
"Get out."
From the way Leo grabbed him, Seb knew the guy was tough. No wonder the guards couldn't stop him.
Paul quickly left the office and told the guards to get back to their posts.
Since Sharon fell into the sea, Seb had been like a robot. No emotions, no anger, nothing.
Paul was worried but clueless about what to do.
Leaving Silvercrest Group, Leo headed straight to the hospital.
Karen was in the hallway when she saw him, her face lighting up.
"Leo, didn't you say you'd come in the evening?"
Leo gave her a cold look, "When did you find out about Sharon falling into the sea?"
Karen's smile froze, and her brows furrowed. "You came to the hospital just for that?"
"What else? Sharon's my sister. It's been a month since she fell into the sea, and you didn't even bother to tell me."
Seeing the accusation in Leo's eyes, Karen gritted her teeth. "I didn't want to mess with your work. Besides, you said you wouldn't have your phone while you were abroad, so I didn't tell you."
"Mess with my work? You think Sharon's life is less important than my job? I gave you a number to call in case of emergencies before I left. Why didn't you use it?"
If Karen had called him when Sharon fell into the sea, maybe they could've found her.
But now, a month had passed, and Sharon's chances were slim.
Thinking of this, Leo's eyes turned icy.
If Karen weren't his mom, he wouldn't spare her!
Facing his accusing gaze, Karen's heart sank.
"Leo, you disappear for a month and come back just to grill me about this? Am I a criminal? Did I kill Sharon? Even if I had told you then, could you have gotten to the seaside in time to save her?"
To Karen, Sharon was just her stepdaughter. She couldn't believe the Leo she raised was questioning her for Sharon.
"Sharon's not an outsider; she's my sister!"
Karen sneered, "Sister? Has Sharon ever treated you like a brother?"
"All these years, she showed me respect on the surface, but she never truly considered me an elder or treated us as family. You want to be her brother, but she..."
Leo snapped, "Enough!"
Leo cut Karen off coldly, eyes blazing with anger, "You keep saying she never treated you as an elder. Have you ever treated her as your daughter?"
"What do you want me to do? Give my life for her?" Karen shot back angrily.
"Forget it. I don't want to argue about this anymore. I'm going to see Robert."
"Wait!"
Karen grabbed Leo's arm. "Robert's a mess since Sharon's accident. He's tried to off himself a few times. I told him Sharon's body hasn't been found and she might still be alive. That's the only thing keeping him going. If he asks you to look for Sharon, just nod. The main thing is to help him get through this."
Leo shook off Karen's hand, his voice icy. "Got it."
Walking into the ward, Leo paused, seeing how much weight Robert had lost.
Robert managed a weak smile when he saw Leo.
"Leo, you're back. You must've heard about Sharon. Can you..."
Leo took Robert's hand, his voice serious. "Robert, I get it. You don't need to say it. I'll look for Sharon. I'll find her, or I'm gonna die trying."
Robert's eyes filled with tears, and he gripped Leo's hand tightly.
"Thank you!"
"Robert, it's what I should do."
After a while, Leo got up and left.
As soon as he stepped out, his face turned cold. He dialed his assistant.
"Find out where Sharon is. Dead or alive, I need to know."
Hanging up, Leo's eyes flashed with cold fury, his grip on the phone tightening.
Leo thought, 'If it weren't for Seb and Alex, Sharon wouldn't be missing. I won't spare the Smiths!'
Inside the Smith Mansion.
David and Tyler sat in the living room, both looking grim.
"Dad, are you really not gonna do anything about Seb? Are you just gonna let him keep doing whatever he wants? This time, he almost bankrupted the Edwards Group, pissing off a lot of people. If this keeps up, the Smith Group will get dragged down too."
When Seb went after the Edwards Group, he hurt a lot of their partners. Those people haven't retaliated yet because they're scared of ending up like the Edwards Group and also fear offending the Smiths.
But everyone has a limit. If Seb keeps acting recklessly and hurting their interests, one day they'll turn against him.
Tyler gave him a cold look. "You want me to intervene? How? Will he listen to me?"
The last time he confined Seb in the hospital, it only made things worse. If he tried to control Seb now, it would backfire.
"If you don't step in, then no one can control him. And if he were doing this for his own company, I wouldn't say anything. But he's offending people for Sharon, and it's not worth it!"
Tyler was silent for a long time before speaking in a deep voice, "Sharon just fell into the sea not long ago. Letting him vent his anger might be good."
"You're just biased towards him. If Alex or I did something like this, we'd have been grounded by you long ago!" David was agitated, looking at Tyler with anger.
"If you and Alex could establish your own companies without relying on the family, I wouldn't interfere with you either!"
David was left speechless, his face turning beet red, then white as a sheet.
After a long time, David gritted his teeth and said, "What if he keeps doing this? Are we just gonna stand by and watch?"
Seeing David's hesitant expression, Tyler's face darkened.
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
"I heard there's a kind of hypnosis abroad that can make people lose part of their memory without side effects. Maybe we could..."
