Chapter 24 Go Ask Your Mom

Clara and Sharon met up at a nearby restaurant. As soon as they sat down, Clara cut straight to the point, her tone cool and direct. "I heard you moved out because Alex has a mistress."

Sharon paused while flipping through the menu and looked at Clara.

Seeing the dissatisfaction on her face, Sharon closed the menu and said calmly, "It seems like this is just a trivial matter to you."

"Of course! If Alex didn't like you, do you think you could have married into the Smith family with your status? As the future wife of the president of the Smith Group, if you can't even tolerate this little thing, you'll just be a burden on Alex in the long run," Clara spoke righteously, which made Sharon laugh, feeling extremely angry.

Once upon a time, Sharon and Alex had a great relationship. Faced with Clara's unpleasant words, Sharon never argued back. But now, Sharon had no intention of continuing to endure.

Sharon mocked, "Ms. Clark, it seems like you've had plenty of experience dealing with 'the other woman' in your youth!"

It was said that Alex's father, David, had many mistresses when he was young, and his notorious reputation spread throughout Metropolis's elite circles. Because of these affairs, Tyler had kicked him out of the list of potential heirs to the Smith Group and focused his efforts on Alex instead.

Clara's face instantly turned grim, a flash of disgust in her eyes. "Is this how you talk to your elders? Your upbringing is truly eye-opening!"

Sharon stood up, her expression cold. "Ms. Clark, my upbringing is none of your concern. I suggest you focus more on Alex. I mean, what kind of family produces someone like Alex, who can't stay faithful even after tying the knot?"

Upon hearing this, Clara became very angry and immediately threw a glass of water at Sharon.

As the water splashed her face, soaking her hair and clothes, Sharon grimaced. She was about to say something when someone handed her a few tissues from the side.

"Here, wipe it off," a man's voice came from behind.

Sharon turned around and was momentarily stunned upon seeing Seb. She took the tissues and softly said, "Thank you."

Clara didn't expect to run into Seb here and for him to witness her throwing water at Sharon, making her feel a bit embarrassed.

She asked, "Seb, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to have dinner with a client and didn't expect to catch such a good show." Seb smiled, but his eyes were devoid of warmth.

"I was just teaching her a lesson." Clara forced a smile.

Seb's lips curled slightly, but his gaze was icy.

He mocked, "I heard earlier that you wanted to keep the baby of Alex's mistress, Ava. I assumed it was a misunderstanding. I didn't expect you to be so unwise. Clara, it seems I overestimated you. After all, Alex cheated first, but then you have the audacity to throw water at Sharon. It's a rare and bizarre thing indeed."

Every word Seb said pierced Clara's heart, making her face increasingly embarrassed and eventually turning cold.

Clara warned, "Seb, this is my family matter. It's best if you, an outsider, don't get involved."

Seb raised an eyebrow slightly. "Clara, I didn't want to get involved, but don't you think it's too much to bully Sharon like this?"

Clara only dared to be so brazen because the Wright family had gone bankrupt. No matter how excessive she was towards Sharon, the Wright family couldn't hold her accountable.

Clara gritted her teeth in anger. "Too much? Just because Alex has a mistress, Sharon demands to move out and even wants a divorce. Who's really being excessive here?"

Seb retorted, "Isn't it Alex's fault for cheating in the first place? The Smith family owes Sharon, not the other way around. If you can't understand that, then I don't think Alex needs to stay in the Smith Group any longer."

Clara's face turned even paler, and she began to tremble uncontrollably. "Seb, whose side are you on?"

Seb replied, "Clara, I'm not taking sides. I'm just telling you that if you want Alex to inherit the Smith Group, you need to be a decent person."

Facing Seb's cold gaze, Clara took a deep breath, grabbed her bag, and hurriedly left.

Sharon said, "Seb, thank you for what you did today."

Seb turned to look at Sharon, his gaze lingering on her wet white shirt for a moment before he calmly looked away.

He said, "Since we are family, this is what I should do. I'll take you home; it's not convenient for you to get a cab in your current state."

With that, he led the way to the door.

Sharon looked down where his gaze had just been and saw that her wet clothes were almost see-through.

She bit her lip, instinctively covered her chest with her hands, and slightly flushed.

Once in the car, Sharon leaned against the door, trying to remain unnoticed.

Fortunately, Seb was busy looking at documents and didn't even glance at her, allowing her to relax a bit.

The car stopped at the entrance of Fortune Garden. Just as Sharon was about to get out, Seb suddenly said, "If you want to divorce Alex, I can help you find a divorce lawyer."

Although Alex was Seb's nephew, cheating was unforgivable to Seb.

Moreover, Clara's public mistreatment of Sharon today clearly showed a lack of respect for her.

Sharon's hand paused on the door handle, her fingers trembling slightly.

After a few seconds of silence in the car, Sharon softly said, "Thank you, Seb. If I need help, I'll reach out to you."

Seb frowned slightly but didn't press further. "Alright."

After Sharon watched Seb's car drive away, she turned to see Alex standing at the entrance of Fortune Garden, his face full of displeasure.

A hint of coldness flashed in her eyes, and she pretended not to see him as she walked past.

As Sharon walked by, Alex suddenly grabbed her wrist and asked, "Sharon, was it Seb who just brought you back?"

Alex's questioning tone was unpleasant.

Sharon forcefully pulled her hand away and coldly said, "It's none of your business."

Alex wanted to ask more but noticed her half-dry shirt, his face darkening.

Alex asked, "What happened to your shirt?"

The thought of her being in the same car with Seb in her current state made Alex inexplicably angry. Sharon was his wife, and he wouldn't allow any other man to get close to her.

Sharon sneered, "If you want to know, go ask your mom."

Alex was taken aback, his brows furrowing. "What do you mean?"

"Why don't you go ask and find out?" With that, Sharon walked around him and left.
