Chapter 385 His hand rested on her waist

Randy shook his head, "Nah, the Lee Group's already hit rock bottom. Instead of selling off the Smith Group's shares and losing everything, I'd rather bust my butt to become the CEO of the Smith Group and help her build a new company."

Seb looked at him, "As long as you're sure about it."

"Uncle Seb, I came here today to ask you for a favor."

"What's up?"

"I remember that Silvercrest Group has some big deals with the Carr Group recently. I hope you won't work with the Carr Group."

He looked at Seb with pleading eyes, but Seb didn't budge.

"You want me to mix personal stuff with business?"

Seb's intense vibe was overwhelming, and Randy quickly looked down, not daring to meet his gaze.

"Uncle Seb, it's not just personal."

"What do you mean?"

Seb's lips curled slightly, but his eyes were cold, "Then tell me, what else is on your mind besides wanting to settle personal scores?"

Randy took a deep breath and forced himself to look at Seb.

"After Dwayne takes over the Lee Group, his next target will be either the Smith Group or Silvercrest Group. If we don't stop Dwayne, it's possible that soon, the Carr Group will threaten both the Smith Group and Silvercrest Group."

"Dwayne doesn't have that kind of power."

Seeing Seb's confidence, Randy quickly said, "Uncle Seb, you don't get Dwayne. He's good at hiding his true intentions. I used to be friends with him, but it wasn't until he went on a blind date with Sophie that I realized his motives. He might already be planning to replace the Smith Group and Silvercrest Group."

Seb didn't respond because he didn't take Dwayne seriously at all. Even if Dwayne wanted to take on the Silvercrest Group, he still needed to have what it took.

Despite Randy's lengthy explanation, Seb remained unmoved, and Randy grew increasingly anxious.

"Uncle Seb, even if you're not worried about Dwayne targeting the Silvercrest Group, you should at least think about Ms. Roach. She has given all her savings from the past few years to Sophie to help the Lee Group. Can you really stand by and watch her money go to waste?"

Seb's eyes narrowed, his voice cold, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, recently the Lee Group got a sudden investment of several million dollars. I had someone check, and it was confirmed that the money came from Ms. Roach to Sophie."

The room fell silent, and Seb's hand tapped lightly on the desk as he lowered his gaze, lost in thought.

Randy didn't dare make a sound, knowing this was his last shot. If Seb didn't care, he could only watch as the Lee Group was taken over by the Carr Group.

After a long silence, Seb finally spoke, "I get it. You can go now."

Seeing that Seb had no intention of dealing with the Carr Group, Randy knew he had lost his gamble.

However, Randy could understand. For Seb, refusing to cooperate with the Carr Group would result in a loss of tens of millions of dollars, but he could always find a way to repay Sharon's few million dollars.

But Randy wasn't ready to give up just yet. "Uncle Seb, aren't you trying to win over Ms. Roach lately? Sophie is her best friend. If you help the Lee Group out of this mess, Ms. Roach will definitely be grateful. She might even get back together with you out of excitement!"

Seb raised an eyebrow, his face calm, "Even if I don't save the Lee Group, I can still win her back."

"But if you save the Lee Group, it'll definitely help your case."

Seb didn't respond, "It's almost seven. Are you staying for dinner?"

Realizing Seb's words were a polite way of saying no, Randy looked disappointed, shook his head, and left.

Not long after Randy left, Seb came out of the study too.

As Seb reached the living room, he saw Dana carrying a bowl of nutritious food upstairs.

"Dana, is that for Sharon?"

Dana nodded, "Yes, I've noticed Ms. Roach has been very tired after work lately, so I made some nutritious food for her."

Seb wanted to ask Sharon if she had really given all her savings to Sophie, so he said, "Give it to me. I'll take it up."

Dana smiled knowingly and handed the food to Seb.

"I still have a few dishes to prepare, so I'll leave it to you, Mr. Smith."

Seb took the tray and headed upstairs.

Standing at Sharon's bedroom door, Seb knocked. There was no response, so he knocked again, but still no response.

He frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then turned the doorknob.

The door wasn't locked.

Sharon wasn't in the bedroom, but the sound of running water came from the bathroom. She must be taking a shower.

Seb's eyes darkened, and after standing at the door for a few seconds, he walked in.

Seb placed the tray on the bedside table and was about to leave when Sharon's voice came from the bathroom.

"Dana, is that you? Could you please get my light green camisole from the first wardrobe?"

Seb's hand tightened involuntarily. He hesitated for a moment, about to speak, but Sharon's voice came again, "Dana, could you hurry? I have a meeting at seven."

Her tone revealed a hint of urgency. Seb frowned and walked towards the wardrobe.

In the bathroom, steam filled the air, and Sharon's slender figure was faintly visible.

Soon, a shadow appeared in front of the glass door of the bathroom. Sharon walked over barefoot and opened the door.

"Dana, could you..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she saw who was standing at the door and her eyes widened in shock. She instinctively stepped back.

"Why are you here!"

In her panic, combined with the water on the floor, Sharon slipped.

She screamed in fright, reaching out to grab the sink.

However, having just showered, her hands were still wet and she couldn't get a grip.

"Careful!"

A large hand grabbed her waist, pulling her into his arms.

Sharon felt her heart pound, unsure if it was from fear or something else.

She clung tightly to Seb's suit, her face pale.

Seb's rough hand rested on her waist, and the warmth from his touch spread through her skin.

The places where he touched felt like they were on fire, sending waves of heat through her.
