Chapter 592 Jeremy Wakes Up

Mary was about to speak when the hospital room door suddenly swung open, and Ewan hurried in.

Seeing that Jeremy was indeed awake, Ewan's face lit up with joy as he quickly approached the bedside.

"Dad, you're finally awake!"

Seeing Ewan's excitement, Jeremy reached out and patted his shoulder. "Yeah, you and your mom have been through a lot."

Ewan shook his head. "It wasn't hard. You waking up is the best thing that could happen to us."

Jeremy had just woken up and hadn't fully recovered yet. After chatting with them for a while, he grew tired.

Noticing his fatigue, Mary suggested he take a nap and headed to the kitchen to make him some food.

She had barely entered the kitchen when Ewan followed her in.

"Mom, I need to talk to you about something."

Mary continued washing vegetables. "What's up?"

"I might need to leave for a while."

Mary's hands froze, and she turned to look at Ewan. "Why? Your father is awake now. No one will bully us anymore. Why do you want to leave now?"

Meeting Mary's puzzled eyes, Ewan hesitated for a moment before confessing that he had orchestrated Gareth's car accident.

Mary's eyes widened in disbelief, and she angrily exclaimed, "What did you do? Are you out of your mind? If Carolyn finds out, she'll kill you!"

"Mom, keep your voice down. Don't let Dad hear."

Mary took a deep breath, struggling to suppress her anger. "Why didn't you discuss this with me first?"

If she had known Ewan was planning to harm Gareth, she would have stopped him and prevented this disaster.

Ewan's face fell. "I discussed it with Darcy. He supported me, but didn't let me do it myself. It was his people who caused the accident. Now I'm worried that if Carolyn finds out it was Darcy, she'll go after him, and he might betray me."

Hearing that it was Darcy's people, Mary felt a bit relieved. "Since it was Darcy's people, you're safe for now. Don't worry, Darcy won't betray you."

Mary knew how much Darcy cared for her and how he treated Ewan like his own son. He would never betray Ewan, even if it cost him his life.

Ewan shook his head. "Mom, I believe Darcy won't betray me, but I can't take that risk. I need to leave and come back once this blows over."

Mary's expression changed, and she lowered her voice. "Where will you go?"

"I'm going to the United States of Atlantis."

Mary's face turned pale. "Are you crazy? Carolyn can find you there anytime!"

"She has plenty of other problems to deal with right now. Don't worry, I'll find a safe place. Once Dad is back in control of the Stoll family, I'll return."

Seeing Ewan's determination, Mary knew she couldn't change his mind.

"Alright, but you must contact me every day and tell me where you're staying. If I can't reach you, I'll send someone to find you."

"Okay. Don't tell Dad about this. His health is fragile, and this news would only upset him."

"I understand."

Ewan stayed with Jeremy until he woke up again, then left after spending some time with him.

After Ewan left, Jeremy looked at Mary.

"Mary, is something bothering you? You look pale."

Mary forced a smile. "It's nothing. I'm just thinking about when you'll fully recover."

"The doctor said I could be discharged in two weeks. Don't worry, I'll get better and won't let Carolyn bully you anymore."

Thinking about what he had overheard Carolyn say while he was in a coma, Jeremy's face turned cold.

He would never let Carolyn continue to manage the Stoll family or let Gareth or Daisy inherit it. Moreover, his worsening illness had been due to Carolyn poisoning him. He wouldn't let her get away with it!

"Alright."

At the estate, Carolyn quickly received news that Jeremy had woken up.

After the butler reported, he noticed Carolyn's grim expression and lowered his eyes. "Mrs. Stoll, are you going to the hospital?"

Although Jeremy and Carolyn's marriage was in name only, they hadn't divorced. If people found out she didn't visit him after he woke up, they would gossip.

Carolyn was silent for a moment before speaking. "I won't go now. Maybe in a few days."

"Understood, Mrs. Stoll."

Carolyn didn't go to the hospital but had someone keep an eye on it to see who rushed over upon hearing Jeremy was awake.

After giving her orders, she picked up a document to continue reading, but found the words blurry.

Carolyn frowned, blinking hard to clear her vision, but the words only grew more indistinct.

As the room spun, her vision went black, and she fainted.

When she woke up, Carolyn found herself in her bedroom. She slowly sat up and called out.

A servant immediately entered. "Mrs. Stoll, you're finally awake."

"What happened? Did I faint?"

"Yes, the family doctor came and said you fainted from exhaustion. He advised you to rest well."

Carolyn rubbed her aching temples and threw off the covers. "Alright, you can go now."

Seeing Carolyn about to get up, the servant was surprised and quickly said, "Mrs. Stoll, the doctor said you need to rest for at least half a day. It's only been a few hours."

"No need. I know my body. I'm almost recovered, and I'll take care of myself. You can go."

In the estate, Carolyn's word was law. Though the servant was worried, she didn't dare argue.

After getting dressed and freshening up, Carolyn went straight to her study to continue working.

The butler, who had been with Carolyn the longest, brought a bowl of soup to the study. Seeing her working tirelessly, he placed the soup on the desk.

"Mrs. Stoll, you need to rest. There will always be more work."

As long as Carolyn managed the Stoll family, there would always be endless work.

Without looking up, Carolyn said, "I'm fine. You can go back to work. I know my body."

The butler stood there for a moment, sighed, and left.

Shortly after he left, Carolyn's phone rang.

Seeing it was Gage, Carolyn quickly answered.

"Gage, do you have news about the car accident?"

"Yes, Mrs. Stoll. From what I found, Gareth's accident is linked to Darcy. Also, I discovered that Ewan booked a flight to the United States of Atlantis for tomorrow morning."

Carolyn's face fell. "Do you know why?"

If there was no reason, Ewan wouldn't be going to the United States.

"Not yet, but it seems he's going alone."

Carolyn frowned, sensing something was off. "Stop, Ewan. Don't let him leave the country."

"Understood, Mrs. Stoll."

"What about Sharon? Any leads?"

"None yet."

"Keep looking."

After hanging up, Carolyn placed her phone on the desk, her expression grim.

Where were Sharon and Seb hiding? Even Gage couldn't find them. It seemed she needed to talk to Ross.

The next morning, Carolyn went straight to Ross's estate.

Seeing her, Ross smiled, looking in good spirits.

"Carolyn, what brings you here today?"

Carolyn didn't waste time. "Ross, where are you hiding my daughter?"

Ross looked surprised. "Carolyn, if I remember correctly, your people already rescued Daisy from Darcy."

Carolyn sneered. "You know who I'm talking about!"

Ross raised an eyebrow, thinking for a moment. "You mean Sharon? But she doesn't acknowledge you as her mother."

"I don't want to argue. Sharon is the future heir of the Stoll family. Hiding her means opposing the Stoll family."

Ross was silent for a moment, then smiled.

"Carolyn, if I'm not mistaken, Jeremy woke up yesterday. Once he recovers, you'll have to return the Stoll family to him. He won't let your daughter inherit it, will he?"

Hearing the undisguised glee in Ross's voice, Carolyn's face darkened. "That's none of your business. Just tell me where she is!"

"Sorry, I can't tell you."

Carolyn sneered. "So, you're choosing to oppose me?"

"We were never friends."

"Fine, Ross. You tricked Gareth, used him to make me give the southern land to the Bermad family, leading to Gareth's accident and the loss of a leg. Now you won't tell me where Sharon is. I'll make sure to settle these scores! From now on, the Stoll family will have no dealings with the Bermad family!"

Carolyn's eyes were filled with cold fury as she glared at Ross.

In the past, Ross might have been afraid of such words. But now that Jeremy was awake, and Carolyn's control over the Stoll family was uncertain, he saw no need to appease her.

"Carolyn, our previous dealings were mutual. How can you say I tricked you? And Gareth's accident was unfortunate, but it wasn't my fault."

Carolyn's face was livid. "I'm done talking. We'll see what happens!"

With that, Carolyn turned and left.

Once she was out of sight, Ross picked up his phone and called Seb. "Seb, Carolyn is looking for you. Be careful and don't let her find you."

"Thank you, Mr. Bermad."

After hanging up, Seb looked at Alton, who was sitting across from him. "What should we do next? Sharon's father is still in Carolyn's hands."
