Chapter 562 Join You Sooner
Demetrius nodded eagerly. "Alright, let's go."
The group headed back to the changing area, took a quick shower, and got dressed to catch the shuttle to the restaurant.
As soon as they sat down, a waiter approached them. "Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, we've prepared a variety of international dishes for you. What would you like for lunch?"
Seb looked at Sharon. "Sharon, you pick."
Sharon glanced at Demetrius, noticing his eyes were glued to the roasted chicken legs. She couldn't help but smile. "I want steak, but I think Demetrius has his heart set on the chicken legs."
Following her gaze, Seb saw Demetrius practically drooling over the chicken legs. He chuckled. "Alright, we'll have steak, and Demetrius can have the chicken legs."
"Sure thing. How do you want your steak cooked, and do you have any dietary restrictions?"
Sharon shook her head. "Medium-well for me, no restrictions."
Seb added, "Medium-rare for me."
"Got it. And little sir, anything else besides the chicken legs?"
"Nope, that's it for now."
"Alright. If you need anything else, just press the service button."
The waiter turned and left.
Half an hour later, their meals were brought out together.
Demetrius's chicken legs were golden and crispy, looking perfectly cooked.
The waiter placed the chicken legs in front of Demetrius. "Careful, they're hot."
Then he set down Seb and Sharon's steaks, removing the covers.
"Enjoy your meal."
After the waiter left, they began to eat.
Sharon picked up her knife and fork, ready to cut into her steak, when Seb suddenly reached over and took her plate. "Let me cut it for you."
Even while cutting steak, Seb's movements were graceful.
Sharon propped her chin on her hand, watching him with love in her eyes.
Soon, Seb placed the neatly cut steak back in front of her.
"All done."
Sharon looked down at the steak, each piece cut into nearly perfect squares. She was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but laugh. "Seb, do you have OCD?"
Seb glanced up at her while cutting his own steak. "In some things, yeah."
"Like cutting steak?"
Seb paused, looking at the neatly cubed pieces on his plate.
After lunch, they returned to their family suite. The suite had a dining area right as you entered, with the kitchen to the left. Further in was the living room and balcony, with a hallway on the left leading to two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The room's simple and elegant decor was exactly Sharon's style.
They spent some time in the living room until Demetrius got sleepy. Sharon took him to his room to nap.
Once he was asleep, she quietly left the room.
Closing Demetrius's bedroom door, she saw Seb sitting in the living room, head down, deep in thought.
Sharon bit her lip and walked over to him. "Seb, what's up?"
Hearing her voice, Seb looked up. "Alton called earlier. Your plane ticket has been sent to the villa."
Sharon's hand tightened at her side. She sat next to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head on his shoulder.
"Seb, we agreed to enjoy these few days together."
Seb was quiet for a moment before speaking. "But I can't be happy knowing you'll be leaving me and Demetrius in just a couple of days."
"I know, but it's the only way."
"Yeah." Seb hugged her, holding on for a long time before letting go. "Alright, let's take a nap. We need to be ready to play with Demetrius this afternoon."
Sharon shook her head. "Before we nap, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?"
She pulled out the notebook where Demetrius had written his reward list the night before and handed it to Seb.
"This is what Demetrius wrote last night. It's a list of rewards he wants. I plan to buy the remaining gifts and prepare some extras. For his birthdays or holidays, you can pick something from here for him."
Seb frowned. "Even if you go to Stellaria, you can still send him gifts. Are you planning never to come back?"
"No, listen. I'm just preparing in case. If I can contact you from Stellaria, I won't need you to give him these gifts. I'll choose new ones each year. This is just a precaution."
"There won't be a need for that. I won't agree to this."
If he didn't agree, Sharon would keep worrying and find ways to contact them. If he agreed, she wouldn't have as many concerns.
"Seb, if you don't agree, I'll ask Sophie to do it."
She had made up her mind. Whether Seb agreed or not, this had to be done.
Seb's face darkened, and they sat in silence for a while.
Eventually, Seb relented. "Fine, I agree."
"Then it's settled."
"Yeah." He looked at her profile, his eyes filled with sadness and sorrow.
Because of this, neither of them felt like napping. They stayed in the living room until Demetrius woke up.
In the afternoon, Seb and Demetrius explored the hot spring resort. Besides the hot springs, there were many spots to enjoy the snowy scenery. Demetrius was thrilled and even built a snowman.
As evening approached, they had dinner and were heading back when Seb received a call from Paul.
Whatever Paul said made Seb's face darken.
"I told you not to contact me for a few days. I'm busy."
Seb was about to hang up when Sharon grabbed his hand.
"Seb, we don't have any plans tonight. If you need to handle work, go ahead. Demetrius and I will wait for you."
After a moment of silence, Seb said, "Don't worry. It can be handled without me."
He didn't believe the company couldn't function without him for a few days.
Seb suppressed his anger and told Paul, "Find another executive. If you still can't handle it, call me back."
"Yes, Mr. Smith."
Back at the hotel, Sharon sent Demetrius to find his clothes for a bath while she and Seb sat on the living room couch.
"Seb, are you sure it's okay not to go back to the office?"
Silvercrest Group had just stabilized. She worried that if Seb didn't return, something might go wrong.
Seb nodded. "Yes, don't worry. It's just a few days. Nothing will happen."
"Alright."
Sharon changed the subject to Sophie and Randy. "We left in such a hurry. I wanted to invite Sophie and Randy over for dinner. I guess we won't have the chance. Can you apologize to them for me?"
Seb looked at her. "Even now, you're thinking about others."
"They're not just anyone. Sophie's my best friend, and Randy's your nephew."
Seb nodded. "Got it. You don't need to worry about these things. When you're in Stellaria, if anything dangerous happens, I won't be able to get to you right away. You need to be careful."
"I know."
Seb continued, "Don't trust Alton and Jesse. They don't get along, so you can try to use them against each other.
"As for the internal dynamics of the Stoll family, I don't know much yet. But from what I've found, your stepfather has a son and a daughter with your mom. He also has a mistress with whom he has a son. For the past decade, he's mostly lived with his mistress and has a terrible relationship with your mom.
"Now that he's sick, he wants to pass the Stoll family business to his mistress's son. Your mom doesn't agree, so there's a lot of infighting.
"I haven't found out more. If you can get more information once you're there and can contact me, call me, and I'll help you."
Listening to Seb, Sharon felt a wave of emotion. "Okay, I understand. I'll be careful."
Seb's expression was serious. "I'll expand Silvercrest Group as quickly as possible so I can join you sooner."
"Alright."
Sharon leaned into his embrace, whispering, "Seb, I'll do my best until the day you come to get me."
Seb was about to respond when the bathroom door opened, and Demetrius walked out, wrapped in a towel.
Seeing Seb and Sharon hugging, he quickly covered his eyes. "I didn't see anything!"
Sharon pulled away from Seb, wiped her eyes, and smiled at Demetrius. "Come here after your bath. I'll help dry your hair. Hurry and get dressed so you don't catch a cold."
"The room has heating; I won't."
"Even with heating, you can't be careless."
As she spoke, Sharon grabbed a towel and walked over to Demetrius.
She placed the towel over his head and began drying his hair.
When she was about to help dry his body, Demetrius quickly stepped back.
"Mom, you're a girl, and I'm a boy. I'll do it myself."
Sharon was momentarily stunned, then nodded. "Alright, you do it. I'll get your clothes."
It took Demetrius about ten minutes to get dressed.
Usually, by this time, he would play a bit before bed. But tonight, even by nine o'clock, he showed no signs of being sleepy.
"Demetrius, it's about time for bed. We have to get up early tomorrow to go out. You don't want to be too tired to wake up, do you?"
Demetrius, who had been playing happily, looked up at Sharon. "Mom, where are we going tomorrow?"
"You'll have to ask your dad."
Demetrius turned his expectant gaze to Seb. "Dad, what are we doing tomorrow?"
"You'll find out in the morning. Now, go to bed. Mom and Dad are tired too. We need to bathe and sleep soon."
Knowing he wouldn't get any more information from his dad, Demetrius reluctantly agreed. "Okay."
After Demetrius went to bed, Sharon and Seb took a bath and changed into their pajamas before heading to their bedroom.
As soon as they got into bed, Seb pulled Sharon into his arms.
Seb cherished every moment he could spend with her.
If Sharon would agree, he wouldn't have brought Demetrius on this trip.
Though Demetrius was his son, he didn't want him to take up the time he had with Sharon.
They didn't speak, just held each other, feeling time slowly pass.
Eventually, they both fell asleep.
Early the next morning, there was a knock on the door.
"Mom, Dad, are you awake?"
Sharon woke up but still felt tired, her eyes refusing to open. "Seb, can you get the door for Demetrius?"
"Sure."
Seb got up, yawning as he walked to the door and opened it.
Looking down, he saw Demetrius fully dressed, with a hat and mask on, ready to go.
Seeing Seb still in his pajamas, Demetrius couldn't help but comment, "Dad, it's already past eight, and you and Mom are still sleeping?"
Leaning against the door, Seb looked a bit helpless. "Mom and Dad went to bed late last night. Can you let us sleep for another half hour?"
Demetrius thought seriously for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I'll wait in the living room."
"Thanks."
Closing the door, Seb returned to bed and pulled Sharon back into his arms.
"Let's sleep a bit more."
While Seb had been talking to Demetrius, Sharon had fully woken up. She moved his hand away. "I can't sleep anymore. I'll get up and wash up. I'll wake you up later."
Seb opened his eyes and looked at her. "If you're up, I won't be able to sleep either. I'll get up with you."
"No need. You should rest a bit more. You haven't been sleeping well these past few days."
"A few more minutes won't make a difference." He sat up and followed Sharon to the bathroom.
Sharon squeezed the toothpaste while Seb filled their toothbrush cups with water.
Ten minutes later, they were dressed and ready.
In the living room, they saw Demetrius on the phone with someone.
Seeing Seb and Sharon, Demetrius quickly hung up and hid the phone behind his back.
Seb raised an eyebrow. "Demetrius, who were you talking to?"
"Just a friend from kindergarten. I told him I built a snowman yesterday, and he said he was jealous because his parents don't let him play in the snow."
Seeing Demetrius's tense expression, Seb knew he was lying but didn't press the issue.
"Well, he can't build a snowman, but you can show him the pictures you took."
Sharon glared at Seb. "What kind of idea is that? Are you trying to make him lose friends?"
Seb chuckled. "What do you want for breakfast? I'll have it sent up."
"I'm fine with anything. Let's see what Demetrius wants."
"He'll eat whatever we eat."
Demetrius was speechless.
Seb called to order breakfast, choosing mostly Sharon's favorites.
What Sharon liked, Demetrius liked too, so he had no complaints.
After breakfast, the family headed out.
Since they were full, they walked leisurely to the play area.
After a short walk, Sharon's phone rang.
Seeing it was Robert's nanny, who rarely contacted her, Sharon had a bad feeling and quickly answered.
"Ms. Roach, Mr. Wright has collapsed and is in the hospital. Can you come over?"
