Chapter 117 You Should Ask My Dear Brother

When Alex saw David, his face darkened. "Got it, I'll be right there," he said gruffly.

After Alex left, David turned to Sharon. "How did you escape?"

"Dad, what are you talking about? I don't get it," Sharon replied, genuinely puzzled.

David sneered, eyes cold. "You better really not know what happened."

Once David left, Sharon unclenched her hand, her palm aching, but her face stayed blank.

Seb showed up just as the party was ending. He had changed clothes, his hair was slightly wet, and he looked pale and cold, like unmelting ice.

Noticing his foul mood, people who wanted to approach him stopped. They knew they would be in trouble if they talked to him now.

Sandra looked annoyed. "Seb, where have you been? I've had people looking for you."

Seb, calm, replied, "I was tired, so I found a quiet place to rest."

"The party's almost over. Don't wander off. By the way, this is Kathy Adams. You've met her before."

Seb's indifferent gaze swept over Kathy. She shyly glanced at him, then quickly looked down, blushing.

"No impression," he said flatly.

Kathy's smile froze, and she twisted her hands together.

"Meet a few more times, and you'll remember. Tonight, you will take Miss Adams home."

"Busy," Seb refused without hesitation, his face emotionless.

Sandra's face darkened, but before she could speak, Kathy stood up. "Ma'am, I just remembered I have something to do, so I'll take my leave."

Ignoring Sandra's reaction, she turned and left.

"Look at what you've done. Now you've offended Miss Adams. Are you satisfied?" Sandra snapped.

Seb ignored her. "If you don't want to offend every prominent family in Metropolis, stop introducing me to Miss Walker, Miss Adams, and the like."

"You!" Sandra glared at him. "Do you really want to piss me off?"

"As long as you stop setting me up wht women, you won't be angry."

After being speechless momentarily, Sandra angrily said, "So many girls your age came tonight, and you didn't like any of them?"

"Right."

"Fine, fine. Stay away from me. I'm annoyed just looking at you."

Seb said nothing and turned to leave.

Clara, while comforting Sandra, looked mockingly at Seb's back. It wasn't that he didn't like anyone; it was that the one he liked, Sharon, could never be with him.

Not to mention Sharon was already married to Alex. Even if she weren't, Tyler and Sandra wouldn't agree to Seb marrying her.

Leaving the main hall, Seb called the butler over. "Get me a copy of tonight's surveillance footage from the Smith family," he said coldly.

The butler looked confused but didn't dare ask why. He immediately went to copy the footage.

"Mr. Seb, a few cameras in the Smith mansion were broken tonight, so some areas don't have surveillance."

Seb's lips pressed tightly, and his face was cold and menacing.

Oh, crap.

No way it was just a coincidence.

"Got it, you can go," Seb said, holding the flash drive with a cold smile.

Thinking breaking the cameras would stop him from finding evidence.

Sandra's birthday party finally wrapped up around midnight.

Before leaving, Seb had the servants who followed David's orders tied up and thrown in front of Sandra and Tyler.

"These traitorous servants need to be fired," he said.

Tyler's face darkened. "What's going on?"

"You should ask my dear brother," Seb replied.

Tyler glared at David. "Explain!"

David's face turned sullen; he never expected Seb to expose this publicly.

The room fell silent, all eyes on David, but he stayed quiet, clearly unwilling to speak.

"If you don't talk, I'll investigate myself!" Tyler slammed the table, his gaze filled with anger.

Tyler knew Seb wouldn't make a scene unless it was serious.

Under Tyler's cold stare, David felt tormented. Just as he was about to confess, he met Seb's mocking gaze.

"David, you know the situation," Seb said, his tone threatening.

David gritted his teeth. "For the company's investment, I drugged Seb and planned to send a woman to his bed."

He didn't mention the woman was Sharon. If he did, Seb would come after him, and Alex would despise him even more.

"Ridiculous!" Tyler's face turned livid, and his eyes were filled with disappointment and rage.

Sandra was in disbelief. "David, are you crazy? Seb is your brother, your family. Do you want to drive your father and me to our graves?"

"Dad, Mom, I'm sorry, I had no choice," David said, hanging his head, eyes filled with anger and unwillingness. If Seb had agreed to invest, he wouldn't have resorted to this plan and gotten caught.

"Forced? Now that you drugged Seb, will you harm other family in the future?"

"Go to your room, be grounded, and never come out until Seb forgives you!"

David was taken away by two servants, not saying another word.

"Alright, everyone go back. We need to rest too," Tyler said.

Leaving the Smith mansion, Seb was about to get in the car when Alex spoke up. "Uncle Seb, my dad said he planned to send a woman to your bed. Who was she?"

Seb raised an eyebrow. "Why ask suddenly?"

"I'm just curious who that woman is"

From the moment David and Seb refused to mention the woman, Alex had a bad feeling. Sharon had also disappeared for a while earlier, and it felt too coincidental.

"You don't know her. No need to be curious," Seb said, getting in the car and driving away.

After Seb's car disappeared, Alex turned to Sharon and casually asked, "Sharon, why do you think Dad chose tonight to drug Uncle Seb?"

If David just wanted to find a woman, there would no need to choose Sandra's birthday party. If discovered, the Smith family would be disgraced, and Sandra and Tyler wouldn't let him off. David chose tonight for a reason that required action at this specific time.

Sharon looked up, her expression indifferent. "If you're so curious, Dad is being grounded in the room now. Why don't you ask him yourself?"
