Chapter 43 Forced Entry

Upon hearing this, Eugene's eyes were filled with greed. "Money that would last a lifetime? Wouldn't that be millions of  dollars?"

A hint of mockery flashed in Irene's eyes.

Eugene was really short-sighted, thinking millions of dollars was the limit of his imagination.

She said, " If this pans out, you're not just talking a few million dollars but looking at tens of millions.."

"Really?" Eugene's cheeks flushed with excitement, as if he could already see a king's ransom waving at him.

"Of course, Eugene. Come closer, and I'll explain it in detail." Irene's voice lowered significantly.

Eugene listened and nodded repeatedly, his eyes full of excitement.

Finally, he looked at Irene seriously and said, "Ms. Robinson, I'll follow you. As long as we get the money, I'll do whatever you ask."

After Eugene left, Irene sneered.

Soon, the people she loathed would disappear from this world.

Sharon had just returned home when Alex showed up at the door.

Seeing his angry face on the surveillance camera, Sharon pretended not to notice and went straight to her bedroom.

She thought Alex would leave after waiting outside for a while, but to her surprise, he actually called a locksmith.

Hearing the door open, Sharon thought she must have heard wrong.

Until the footsteps got closer to the bedroom, her face changed, and she quickly got up to lock the bedroom door.

Alex twisted the doorknob but couldn't open it, looking a bit helpless. "Sharon, come out. Let's talk, okay?"

Sharon didn't respond and directly called the police.

Soon, the police arrived.

Sharon only opened the bedroom door when the police knocked and explained their purpose.

Alex was subdued by two police officers, his hands behind his back, looking very disheveled.

Seeing Sharon, he frowned. "Sharon, explain to the police that we're married."

Sharon gave Alex a cold look and then said to the police, "We are indeed married, but we're currently separated. He suddenly called a locksmith to break into my house today. Who knows what he might do tomorrow? Please take him away."

It would be best if they could detain him for three to five days to teach him a lesson.

The police nodded and looked at Alex. "Take him to the station."

"Sharon, I called the locksmith because you wouldn't open the door. I was worried something had happened to you," Alex spoke confidently, but Sharon only found it laughable.

She was sure that if she had opened the door for Alex when he was that angry, not only would they have argued, but her safety might have been at risk.

She said, "Save those words for your statement to the police. If you ever call someone to open my door without my consent again, I'll have to take you to court."

Alex's face was full of anger. He had never been treated like this before.

At the station, he refused to speak until his lawyer arrived and negotiated on his behalf.

With the lawyer's mediation and Alex presenting their marriage certificate, the police released him but gave him a verbal warning. "Even if you're married, you can't break into her house."

The lawyer nodded repeatedly and, after being lectured for a while, took Alex away.

Just outside the station, Alex said coldly, "Take me to Sharon's home."

The lawyer looked at Alex, somewhat helpless. "Mr. Smith, I suggest you calm down before going to Ms. Wright. Otherwise, if she files for a restraining order, it could negatively impact the company's image."Upon hearing this, Alex's face darkened, and the tension around him rose sharply.

After a few minutes of silence, Alex finally spoke, "Take me to the office."

For the next few days, Alex didn't bother her, and Sharon was happy to have some peace.

After finishing her work, Sophie came to find Sharon and asked her to go to the hospital with her.

Sharon asked, "Why are we going to the hospital? It's not time for a follow-up yet."

Seeing her confusion, Sophie couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Have you forgotten who caused you to fall down the stairs?"

"I remember. Why?"

"If you remember, then come with me. We're going to demand compensation for your medical bills and emotional distress."

When they arrived at the hospital, Irene was having lunch, and her parents were also there.

Seeing Sharon, Ted was first stunned, then showed a kind smile. "Sharon, are you here to visit Irene?"

Sophie sneered and sat down on the sofa, raising an eyebrow at Ted. "Mr. Robinson, your daughter fell down the stairs, and Sharon also fell, suffering a mild concussion and occasional dizziness. Shouldn't the Robinson family compensate her for her lost wages, medical bills, and emotional distress?"

Upon hearing this, Irene's face turned extremely ugly, and she glared at Sophie. "Sophie, stop making false accusations. You didn't see me cause her to fall. I was hurt worse than she was, so she should compensate me!"

Since Sophie became friends with Sharon, she had interacted with Irene a few times and knew her well, so she always ignored her.

Only Sharon thought they were best friends because they grew up together.

When the Wright family went bankrupt, Irene immediately showed her true colors and broke off with Sharon.

Thinking of this, Sophie looked at her with disdain. "You were hurt worse because you fell first and tried to drag Sharon down with you but failed."

"You!" Irene's face turned pale with anger and she wanted to retort, but Sophie said coldly, "If you don't want me to expose your act of kneeling in front of Sharon online and ruin your reputation, don't argue with me."

Ted seemed oblivious to the tense atmosphere and smiled. "Ms. Lee, don't be angry. Regardless of whether Irene did it or not, I watched Sharon grow up. I'm willing to cover her medical expenses."

Sophie raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of coldness. "Mr. Robinson, you speak so nicely, but you got one thing wrong. Sharon hasn't fallen so low that she needs your family's charity. What you're giving is compensation, not charity."

Ted's smile froze for a moment, then he turned to Sharon. "Sharon, what kind of compensation do you want?"

Facing his gentle eyes, Sharon only felt his hypocrisy.

When her family went bankrupt, and Robert was hospitalized from the shock, Ted didn't even visit, not even for appearances.

Now he could act as if nothing had happened and speak to her as he used to.

Seeing Sharon remain silent, Sophie feared she would say something like having Irene apologize and be done with it, so she spoke up first, "Of course, it's a million dollars in compensation and an apology from Irene."
