Chapter 319 The Smith Group is All You Care About
Randy sneered, "In your dreams! I'd rather hand my shares to a beggar than to someone like you. Always scheming, thinking you can get something for nothing!"
Alex raised his fist, ready to swing at Randy, but before he could land the punch, a chilling voice stopped him in his tracks.
"If that fist hits his face, I promise you'll never set foot in the Smith Group again," Seb said quietly, his tone deadly serious. Alex could tell he meant every word.
Tyler shouted, "Alex! I didn't call you all here to fight! If you want to brawl, take it outside!"
That seemed to calm things down. Alex lowered his hand, glaring at Randy. "I'll let you off tonight. But if I find out you've done anything shady in the Smith Group, once I get my shares, I won't go easy on you."
Randy smirked. "You haven't even taken over yet, and you're already making big claims. If the Smith Group ends up with you, it'll go bankrupt in no time."
Alex snapped, "Randy, you got a death wish?"
Seeing Alex clench his fist again, Clara quickly stepped in to hold him back. "Alex, there's no point arguing with him now. Wait until you take over the Smith Group to deal with him."
Once Alex was in charge, no matter how well Randy did his job, Alex would find a way to kick him out.
Arguing with Randy now was pointless.
Alex took a deep breath and angrily plopped down on the nearby sofa, his face dark and brooding.
With the room finally quiet, Tyler turned to Seb. "I'm not buying your shares at market price. The best I can offer is half. If you don't agree, you won't see Dr. Mason."
Seb looked at him calmly and said, "Before I came here, I met with Paul."
Tyler's eyes flashed with surprise, then he snorted. "So what? Does Paul know where Dr. Mason is?"
Seb continued, "He told me what happened five years ago. You had me hypnotized to forget Sharon so I'd take over the Smith Group. Now, you brought in Dr. Mason to help me recover my memory so you could take the Smith Group from me. Seems like the Smith Group is all you care about."
Tyler didn't seem fazed, looking at Seb with arrogance. "So what? You wanted your memory back. You can't have it all your way."
Seb smiled slightly. "You're right. So I've decided not to recover my memory. You can send Dr. Mason away." With that, Seb turned and walked out.
Everyone in the room, except Randy, was stunned, staring at his back for several seconds.
It wasn't until Seb was almost out the door that Tyler snapped out of it and shouted, "Seb, stop right there!"
Tyler hadn't expected Seb to decide against recovering his memory.
Even though he knew this was Seb's way of threatening him, Tyler had no counter.
Seb could choose not to recover his memory, but Tyler had to get the Smith Group from Seb.
Seb turned back, still smiling. "Anything else?"
Tyler gritted his teeth. "Fine, I'll buy your shares at market price, but you have to sign now!"
Seb's smile widened. "Market price was the offer earlier. You missed that chance. Now, unless it's double the market price, I won't agree."
Tyler almost lost it. "Seb, don't push it! Double the market price? Are you out of your mind?"
"I'm just stating my terms. You can choose not to agree."
"I won't agree! I won't pay a penny more!"
Seb nodded. "Then I'm not selling."
Before Tyler could say another word, Seb walked out the door.
David wanted to chase after him, but Tyler stopped him. "Come back! Even if you catch up to Seb, he won't sell you the shares. We failed from the start."
He had thought having Dr. Willie Mason would give him leverage over Seb, but he had forgotten that Seb was never someone who could be easily manipulated.
From Seb's current attitude, it was clear that taking the Smith Group back from him was out of the question.
Thinking of that, Tyler sighed deeply and looked at Randy with a calculating gaze. "Randy, I remember you have quite a few shares too."
Randy looked up at Tyler, seeing the undisguised calculation in his eyes, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips. "Grandpa, I only have 6% of the shares. Don't even think about taking them from me. I earned them through hard work at the Smith Group over the years. If you try to take my shares to give to a loser, I'll make sure everyone knows what happened today and what you did to Uncle Seb for your own selfish reasons."
Tyler's face instantly turned cold. "Are you siding with Seb to anger me too?"
Randy stood up, straightened the wrinkles on his suit, and smiled. "Grandpa, you're overthinking it. I'm not stupid, and I won't give my money away. You'd better think of another way." With that, Randy turned and left.
The living room was suddenly left with only David's family and Tyler, eerily quiet.
After a long time, Clara finally couldn't help but speak. "Dad, you should have agreed when Seb offered to sell the shares at market price. Now we got nothing!"
Tyler gave her a cold look. "Our family's matters are not for you to interfere with!"
Clara's face turned pale, and anger flashed in her eyes. "I did this for your own good. From Seb's attitude today, it looks like he's planning to use the Smith Group to control you! What will you do then?"
David rebuked, "Clara, shut up! Is that how you talk to your elders? Apologize to Dad!"
Clara retorted, "For what? What did I say wrong? I'm not apologizing. If you want to apologize, do it yourself!"
David and Clara started arguing in the living room.
Tyler, annoyed by the noise, shouted angrily, "Get out, all of you!"
Tyler stood up in anger, intending to use his cane to drive David and Clara away. However, as he raised his hand, he suddenly blacked out and collapsed back onto the sofa, unconscious.
