Chapter 156 The Smith Family Is Out of Sharon's League!

Clara turned to Alex, trembling. "You said I embarrassed myself?"

"Isn't it embarrassing? Look at what you've done lately. Nothing's worked out. If you can't handle it, don't make it worse!"

Alex's face was full of anger, and he didn't hold back.

Clara's tears fell as she choked out, "If it weren't for you and David being useless, I wouldn't have to do this. Now you think I'm screwing up. Why couldn't you get David out of the police station, Alex? I'm really disappointed in you!"

She pushed open the car door and left.

Alex didn't chase her, his face darkening.

'Why can't she understand me? I can't get David out right now,' Alex thought.

David's actions were undeniable. Alex needed to take over the company from David and then figure out a way to help him. Even if David stayed in prison, Alex could at least make his time there easier.

The more he thought about it, the colder Alex's expression became.

He pulled out his phone and dialed. "Found Grace yet?"

"Don't worry, just a couple more days."

"Find her by tomorrow, and I'll double the money!"

In the dark car, the light from Alex's phone made him look eerie.

"I'll contact you tomorrow."

Hanging up, Alex's lips curled into a cold smile.

He wanted to see if Seb loved Sharon more or his ex!

Sharon went to bed early, unaware that Paul came over with a document for Seb shortly after she fell asleep.

"Mr. Smith, it's confirmed that Leo is Ms. Wright's stepbrother. He's been abroad for six years and only returned once. Ms. Wright was traveling then, so they didn't meet. Their relationship isn't good."

Seb took the document, flipped through it, and said, "You can go back now."

After reading Leo's info, Seb called Paul. "Have HR contact Leo and invite him to Silvercrest Group."

The next morning, Sharon got a call from Mark as soon as she arrived at work.

Knowing Clara wanted to reconcile but didn't want to apologize in person, and that compensation for Clara's mental distress could be negotiated, Sharon wasn't surprised.

Sharon thought, 'Getting Clara to apologize is like trying to squeeze water from a stone. But what does that have to do with me?'

"Tell Clara I only want an apology."

Hanging up, Sharon stepped into the elevator. People glanced at her, but she ignored them and pressed the close button calmly.

The morning flew by, and near noon, Karen suddenly showed up at the office.

Taking Karen to the coffee shop downstairs, Sharon asked, "Karen, you came to see me. What's up?"

Karen rarely visited unless necessary.

Karen's expression was cold. Just thinking about Leo insisting on returning despite her objections made her resent Sharon.

If Sharon hadn't offended the Smith family, she wouldn't be so anxious about Leo's return.

"I talked to Robert last night. He doesn't want to go abroad. After thinking it over, it would be tough for us with the language barrier. It's better for Robert to continue his treatment here. The medical care isn't much worse."

Sharon frowned. "Karen, we agreed on this yesterday. Why are you changing your mind?"

She was sending Robert and Karen abroad for their safety. Once Seb found out she was scheming, he wouldn't protect her anymore. She wouldn't be able to take care of Robert and Karen properly.

Karen looked helpless. "It's not that I don't want to go. Robert is really worried about you and refuses to leave."

After a moment, Sharon said, "I'll go to the hospital tonight to persuade him."

Karen's eyes flickered. "Robert is still mad at you. You should wait a few days. If you go tonight, you'll just argue again."

"Even if we argue, I have to go. Karen, I have work to do now, so I'll head back."

Sharon got up and left.

Knowing Sharon was going to the hospital, Seb offered to go with her.

Her first reaction was to refuse. Robert was already unhappy about her being with Seb. Bringing Seb along would only make things worse.

"Why don't you wait a bit longer?"

Seb looked displeased. "How long is 'a bit'?"

Sharon didn't want to interact with him at work, and now she didn't want him to meet her family. It was clear she had no confidence in a future with him.

"My dad is still mad about us. At least wait until he's less angry, okay?"

"No, since he already knows and is angry, hiding will make him think I'm not sincere."

Sharon was speechless.

Facing Seb's unyielding gaze, Sharon hesitated and finally nodded. "Alright, but be ready to get kicked out."

In the evening, as soon as Sharon and Seb stepped into the ward, Robert's brows furrowed, and his expression turned cold.

"Mr. Smith, you're not welcome here. Please leave!"

Sharon sighed inwardly. Just as she expected.

She turned to Seb, ready to ask him to wait outside, but Seb looked directly at Robert.

"Robert, I know you don't like me and are angry about me being with Sharon, but I am sincere."

Robert sneered. "Sincere? How much is your sincerity worth? A few years ago, Alex said the same thing, but he still cheated. Leave. The Smith family is out of Sharon's league!"

Sharon frowned, worried Robert would anger Seb further. She was about to speak when Robert coldly looked at her.

"You leave with him too. I don't want to see you until you break up!"

"Dad."

Seb looked at Sharon and said softly, "I want to talk to Robert alone. You wait outside."

"No way!"

If she left, who knew what harsh words Robert would say to Seb.

Robert looked at Seb, eyes full of anger and disgust.

"Fine, Karen, take Sharon outside. I want to hear what he has to say."

Karen hesitated, then walked to Sharon's side. "Sharon, wait outside."
