Chapter 520 You Sure Picked a Winner
"Not bad, we're slowly getting back on track. I'm just worried, not sure if this is the right move."
Using the money from Demetrius's bank account could either save the Silvercrest Group or plunge them into deeper trouble.
Sharon looked up at him and said softly, "It's the only option we have right now. We'll just have to take it one step at a time. It can't get worse than it already is."
If the Silvercrest Group went bankrupt, who knows what Leo would do to them.
They had to keep the Silvercrest Group afloat to stay safe.
"I'll do everything I can to protect you and Demetrius. I won't let anyone hurt you."
He had already decided that if things went south, he would find a way to send Sharon and Demetrius away to ensure their safety.
As they talked, the water started boiling.
Sharon lifted the lid and put the ravioli in.
"Don't worry so much. The three of us will be just fine."
Seb walked up behind Sharon and hugged her. "Okay."
At the Thomas Villa
Daniel stood by the window, on the phone with Jesse.
Hearing that Daniel still hadn't managed to bankrupt the Silvercrest Group, Jesse sneered, "Daniel, have you been too busy with your love life to get the job done? Why is there no progress?"
Daniel's face darkened. "Mr. Scott, I've been trying. The Silvercrest Group was on the brink of bankruptcy, but a mysterious investor came in and revived it. I've done my best."
"I don't want to hear excuses. If you can't get it done, everything I've given you will be taken back. You have one more week."
Daniel's expression changed. "Mr. Scott..."
The response was the sound of the call ending.
Daniel's face turned livid as he threw his phone to the ground.
One week?
The Silvercrest Group had just received an investment. How could they go bankrupt in a week?
Jesse was being unreasonable!
During those years abroad, Jesse had helped him a lot, but Daniel had repaid him in kind.
He owed Jesse nothing and wouldn't work for him anymore.
If Jesse tried to go after the Thomas Group, Daniel would team up with the Silvercrest Group to fight back.
He had plenty of dirt on Jesse. If pushed too far, he would go down fighting.
With that thought, Daniel smirked and headed to his bedroom.
In the following days, most of the Silvercrest Group employees returned to work, with their salaries and benefits unchanged.
The Silvercrest Group's legal team also filed a lawsuit against Vertex Innovations Group.
While things were looking up for the Silvercrest Group, bad news came from abroad.
Paul rushed into Seb's office, closing the door behind him. "Mr. Smith, we can't reach Falcon and his team!"
Seb's face changed as he put down his documents and looked at Paul. "What happened? Why can't we contact them?"
"I don't know. Last night at midnight, Falcon messaged me saying they were close to finding out who transferred money to Mr. Roach. This morning, I couldn't reach any of them."
Seb's expression turned grim. "Got it. Keep working."
"What about Falcon's team?"
"Leave it for now. If they're alive, they'll find a way to contact you. If we don't hear from them in a month, assume the worst."
If a month passed with no word, it meant they were likely dead.
"Understood." Paul left the office, sighing as he closed the door.
He could only hope Falcon's team had just run into some trouble and weren't dead.
After the door closed, Seb's eyes darkened.
If he was right, the Stoll family had found Falcon. Whether they were dead or alive was unknown.
Jesse's backers, the Stoll family, were more powerful and mysterious than he had imagined.
As he pondered, his phone rang.
Seeing it was Leo, Seb's expression turned cold.
He answered, and Leo's furious voice came through. "Seb, are you trying to destroy me?"
The Silvercrest Group's legal team had not only sued Vertex Innovations Group for stealing trade secrets but also submitted evidence of other crimes to the court. If the evidence was accepted, Leo would face prison.
Zack had just informed him that the police were on their way to take him in for questioning.
Seb's tone was indifferent. "Didn't you try to destroy the Silvercrest Group? Now that the roles are reversed, you can't handle it?"
"I advise you not to push too hard. Vertex Innovations Group isn't the only one after the Silvercrest Group."
"I know, there's also Daniel and Jesse, right?"
The line went silent for a few seconds before Leo spoke again. "Since you know, you shouldn't waste your energy on Vertex Innovations Group. Your real enemy isn't us."
"You and Daniel are Jesse's right-hand men. I'll deal with you first, then Daniel. I'm not leaving you around to stab me in the back."
"You! Seb, you'll regret this!"
"The one who should regret is you. Enjoy the consequences of your actions." Seb hung up.
Leo was about to call back when his office door was knocked.
Two police officers followed Zack in, looking sternly at Leo. "Mr. Wendy, you're under suspicion of illegally obtaining Silvercrest Group's core data and other crimes. Please come with us."
Leo clenched his phone, then stood and straightened his clothes. "Alright, I'll go."
He turned to Zack. "Have the lawyer meet me at the station."
It was just an investigation; he could still get bail.
Zack nodded nervously. "Yes, Mr. Wendy."
Leo's arrest quickly spread, reaching the Bridges family.
Garry called everyone to the Bridges Mansion, including Ayla, who hadn't left for abroad yet.
Seeing Ayla, Damon sneered. "Ayla, you sure picked a winner. Your husband almost bankrupted the Bridges Group and the Silvercrest Group. Impressive."
Ayla looked at him coldly. "Better than you, who only knows how to party and can't find anyone willing to marry you. Maybe you should worry about yourself."
