Chapter 589 I Advise You to Give Up This Idea
Seb took Sharon by the hand and led her out.
Once they were in the car, Sharon turned to Seb. "So, where to now?"
"First, back to my place. Carolyn's got her hands full, so she won't be bothering us for a bit. We'll figure it out as we go."
Sharon leaned her head on his shoulder and whispered, "I never want to leave you again."
"Me neither."
An hour later, they pulled up in front of Seb's villa.
As they got out, they noticed Alton standing at the door, looking like he'd been waiting a while.
Seb's expression turned grim. "Mr. Roach, what are you doing here?"
He instinctively positioned Sharon behind him.
Alton's eyes narrowed at Seb's protective stance. "Relax, I'm not here to take Sharon. I want to help."
Seb scoffed. "We don't need your help."
If it hadn't been for Alton, Sharon wouldn't have been dragged to Stellaria by Carolyn, and their family wouldn't have been torn apart.
Alton met Seb's glare. "I knew you didn't trust me, but without my help, getting Sharon out of Stellaria won't be easy."
"That's our problem, not yours."
Alton sighed. "Seb, I genuinely want to help. If I wanted to take Sharon, you couldn't stop me."
Seb was about to snap back when he felt Sharon squeeze his hand.
He turned to her and asked softly, "What's up?"
"Seb, maybe we should hear him out. We're really stuck here in Stellaria."
Ross had helped them before because Seb had saved him. But now that Ross had saved Sharon, they were even. It wouldn't be easy to ask for Ross's help again. Seb and Andrew alone were no match for Carolyn.
After a moment of silence, Seb finally relented. He looked at Alton coldly. "Fine, come in."
They all walked into the villa. Sharon went to the bedroom to take a shower, while Alton and Seb headed to the study.
Once seated, Seb asked in a low voice, "So, how do you plan to help us?"
"I'll find a way to get you and Sharon back to the States. After that, you won't have to deal with the Stoll family anymore. You can live your lives in peace."
Seb's face remained impassive. "You think Carolyn will just let that happen?"
"Darcy's backing Ewan to lead the Stoll family. Gareth's laid up from a car accident, and the loss of the southern land has caused a lot of unrest. Aunt Carolyn needs my support to keep things stable. When she comes to me, I'll demand that Sharon be allowed to return home. She'll agree."
Alton's sincerity didn't move Seb, who sneered. "Why should I trust you? Don't forget, you were the one who convinced Sharon to come to Stellaria. To you and Carolyn, Sharon's just a pawn."
"I know it's hard to trust me now, but I'm Demetrius's teacher. I can't stand by and watch him lose his mom."
Alton's original plan was to bring Demetrius to Stellaria and mentor him. But now, not only did Demetrius not come, but Carolyn was making things difficult for Seb's company, clearly willing to sacrifice Sharon's family for Gareth and Daisy.
As Demetrius's long-time teacher, Alton couldn't stand by and watch his family fall apart.
After a moment of silence, Seb said, "Alright, I'll trust you this once."
When Sharon came out of the shower, Alton had already left.
Hearing sounds from the kitchen, Sharon walked over and saw Seb cooking noodles.
"Seb."
He turned and smiled. "You're done? Sit down, the noodles will be ready soon."
"Okay."
Five minutes later, Seb brought the noodles to Sharon.
"Eat up, then get some rest."
The noodles smelled delicious. Sharon picked up a fork and looked at Seb. "Aren't you eating?"
Seb shook his head. "Not hungry."
"Alright."
After finishing her meal, Sharon finally asked Seb what Alton had discussed with him.
"He said he'd help us get back home and keep us out of the Stoll family's mess."
Sharon nodded. "Do you think we can trust him?"
"For now, it seems so. But we'll see how he acts."
"Okay, we'll deal with it later."
"Don't worry about it. Get some rest tonight."
"Alright."
Meanwhile, Alton returned to the Roach Manor.
Felix's face fell upon seeing him. "I told you we're done. What are you doing here?"
Alton sat across from him, his expression calm. "You know about Gareth's accident and Daisy's kidnapping, right?"
Felix snorted. "What does that have to do with you? You don't care anyway."
Alton smiled. "True, but I can help."
Felix's expression changed. After a moment, he snorted again. "What do you want?"
Alton nodded. "I have conditions. If Aunt Carolyn agrees to let Sharon return home and promises not to bother her again, I'll help her."
Felix immediately retorted, "No way, Carolyn won't agree!"
"You haven't even asked her. How do you know?"
"She won't agree. Give up on this idea!"
Alton stood up. "Fine, then I won't get involved. Whether she can keep control of the Stoll family will be up to her."
He turned to leave, but Felix's angry voice stopped him. "Wait! Are you really abandoning Aunt Carolyn? Don't forget how good she was to you!"
Alton turned back. "Aunt Carolyn was good to me, but I've done a lot for her, too. I owe her nothing. If you want to help her, that's your choice."
Felix's face turned red with anger. "You're trying to kill me! If you don't help Carolyn, our family will be ruined!"
"I don't care about the Roach or Stoll families."
Seeing Alton's indifference, Felix was furious. "Ungrateful child! How did I raise someone like you?"
No matter how angry Felix was, Alton didn't look back.
He believed Carolyn would contact him soon and agree to his terms. She had no one else to rely on, and his conditions weren't too difficult.
After Alton left, Felix fumed for a while before calming down and calling Carolyn to relay Alton's message.
Carolyn was silent for a moment before coldly replying, "Ignore Alton. If he wants to oppose me for Sharon, let's see how long he lasts!"
Felix quickly tried to calm her. "Don't be too angry. Alton is still young and impulsive. He'll come around."
Carolyn sneered. "He seems very clear-headed to me. I won't be threatened by him. From now on, I have no nephew!"
"Alright, don't be too angry. I'll talk to him. How's Gareth?"
Carolyn glanced at the hospital bed. "He's still unconscious. We'll return tomorrow."
"Okay, stay safe."
After hanging up, Carolyn looked at Gareth, her face grim. She couldn't believe Alton would abandon her and demand Sharon's return.
No matter what, Carolyn wouldn't agree to Alton's terms.
Meanwhile, at Darcy's villa.
Mary and Ewan sat across from Darcy, looking worried. "Darcy, are you sure this will work?"
If they failed, they were all doomed.
Darcy nodded. "Yes, don't worry. Once Carolyn returns, I'll find a way to control her. Once Ewan is in charge of the Stoll family, Carolyn won't be a threat to you."
"Thank you, Darcy. Without you, Ewan and I wouldn't have survived."
Since learning she had a child with Jeremy, Carolyn had seen them as threats, trying to kill them multiple times. If not for Darcy's warnings, they would be dead.
Mary was grateful to Darcy.
Looking into Mary's beautiful eyes, Darcy's breath quickened. "Mary, protecting you and Ewan is my choice. As long as I'm alive, no one will harm you."
"Thank you."
Darcy checked the time. "It's late. You and Ewan should rest. I'll update you if there's news."
"Alright."
After they went upstairs, Darcy returned to his study. He had a lot to do and couldn't sleep yet.
He spent the night compiling a list of people who wouldn't support him and called his assistant. "Detain everyone on this list."
