Chapter 548 You Deserve Everything Others Have
"I've known Demetrius since he was three, but back then, I had no idea about our connection, or that Demetrius was your kid."
Alton's face was serious, and his eyes were sincere as he spoke.
Sharon nodded, "Hmm, is Demetrius really good with computers? He never showed that side to me."
"Yeah, he's the most talented I've ever seen. That's why I took him on as my student. Later, when I found out about our connection and that Demetrius was your son, I liked him even more."
Sharon's gaze flickered when she saw the warmth and smile in Alton's eyes, "Seems like you know Demetrius better than I do."
"Honestly, I probably do. He told me you were always busy with work and rarely had time for him. We used to chat almost every night."
Sharon listened quietly as Alton recounted his experiences with Demetrius, her hands slowly clenching on her lap.
So much had happened between Demetrius and Alton without her knowing. No wonder Demetrius never mentioned Alton no matter how much she asked.
Their bond was deeper than she had imagined.
She needed to rethink how to gradually distance Demetrius from Alton.
Half an hour later, Alton finally stopped and looked at Sharon, "Sharon, I can assure you, if you agree to take Demetrius to Stellaria, he will have a better future. I will personally mentor him."
Sharon frowned slightly, her expression displeased, "Mr. Roach, we are just starting to get to know each other. I haven't considered that yet."
Alton smiled, "Yes, I was too hasty. I apologize."
"Since we've talked so much about Demetrius, tell me about her. I want to know how she's been living in Stellaria all these years."
Alton took a sip of his coffee and looked at her, "Are you sure you want to hear?"
"Of course. And you've been trying to convince me to go to Stellaria with you. If I don't know about her life there, I can't decide whether to agree."
After a moment of silence, Alton nodded, "Alright, I'll give you a brief overview.
"After she divorced your father and moved abroad, she married Jeremy, the current head of the Stoll family. They had two children, your half-siblings. When she married Jeremy, the Stoll family wasn't as prosperous. Over the years, she built it up to what it is today.
"She focused on her career, often neglecting Jeremy. When your sister was five, Jeremy had an affair and even had a child with the other woman. Now, Jeremy is seriously ill and wants to pass the Stoll family to his illegitimate son.
"Your mother disagrees because she built the Stoll family to its current status. But there are many within the family who support Jeremy's illegitimate son."
Sharon smiled slightly, looking at him, "So that's why she wants me to go back?"
Seeing the faint mockery on Sharon's face, Alton's brow furrowed slightly, "Yes, your mother hopes you can take over the Stoll family because your siblings are too naive to handle it."
"So she can just ignore my feelings, send you to mess up my peaceful life, and separate me from Seb?"
"Seb isn't right for you. You'll find someone better."
"That's not for you to decide." Sharon stood up, "Let's end it here for today. I have things to do. Goodbye."
Seeing that Sharon was angry at his words, Alton smiled, "Alright."
Back in her car, Sharon took a deep breath and started the engine.
Meanwhile, Seb had just arrived at the office and called Paul into his office.
"Don't arrange for Sharon and Demetrius to go abroad for now. Focus on finding business partners."
Paul was surprised but nodded, "Got it."
As he was about to leave, he noticed the ring on Seb's hand and his eyes widened slightly.
Seb had never worn a ring before; he didn't like jewelry. So, there was only one possibility—it was a couple's ring with Sharon.
"Mr. Smith, is that ring from Ms. Roach?"
Seb looked up, seeing Paul's curious face, and smiled, "Yes, we got married."
"What?" Paul was stunned, "When did this happen?"
"This morning."
Paul was speechless for a few seconds before slowly saying, "Mr. Smith, congratulations. After all these years, you finally got what you wanted."
Seb and Sharon had been through so much, and now they were finally together.
Seb smiled, "Thank you. For some reasons, we don't plan to make it public. I hope you can keep it a secret."
"Of course, I will."
After Paul left, Seb got back to work.
By noon, Seb had finished all his paperwork and was ready to go home for lunch with Sharon.
Leaving his office, he stopped by Paul's desk, "Book a restaurant for tonight. I want to take her out for dinner."
"Sure, Mr. Smith. I'll do it right away."
Seb nodded and left.
Half an hour later, Seb walked into the villa and saw Sharon sitting on the couch, lost in thought.
"Sharon."
Hearing Seb's voice, Sharon looked up, surprised, "Seb, why are you back?"
Seb walked over to her, "I came back to have lunch with you. Today is our wedding day. Even if I can't spend the whole day with you, I want to be with you for lunch and dinner."
"If you're busy, you don't have to rush back. We don't need those formalities."
"How could I not?" As he spoke, Seb pulled out a bouquet from behind his back, "Sharon, thank you for marrying me. Thank you for coming into my life and giving me such a wonderful son. Meeting you is the luckiest thing that ever happened to me."
Sharon took the flowers, "Me too."
Seb hugged her, "We'll have a proper wedding once this is all over."
Sharon nodded, "As long as I'm with you, nothing else matters."
"Even if it doesn't matter to you, you deserve everything others have."
