Chapter 472 A Foolish Partner
Garry's face was full of rage as he slammed the table, "Everything he has was given by the Bridges family. What right does he have to be angry? A grown man living off his wife, it's embarrassing if word gets out!"
Seeing that Garry was indeed as angry as she had imagined, Ayla quickly said, "Grandpa, I need to discuss the divorce with him first. Once this matter is settled, I can go abroad."
"Discuss what? Call him right now and tell him to come over!"
Ayla looked a bit troubled, "He's moved out these past few days. If I call him, he might not come."
Garry said angrily, "I told you to call him, so call him!"
Ayla sighed and pretended to be helpless as she dialed Leo's number.
However, after several attempts, there was no answer.
She put down the phone and looked at Garry, "Grandpa, you see... he's not answering."
Garry said with displeasure, "I'll have someone find out where he is and bring him here immediately."
Seeing that Garry was serious, Ayla quickly stopped him, "Grandpa, please don't worry about it... There are so many things going on in the company right now. Let Leo and me handle our own matters. Whether we divorce or not, I need time."
"Are you sure you can handle it? It won't affect the company's reputation?"
Garry stared at her, his eyes full of doubt.
Ayla was stunned for a moment, then realized that Garry was worried that the divorce would affect the company, not whether she and Leo would actually divorce.
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness.
It seemed Garry had really given up on her. Now, he only cared about the company, not her.
"Grandpa, don't worry, I will handle it well and make sure no one knows about it."
Garry was silent for a moment, then waved his hand, "Alright, I'll give you a month. In a month, either you divorce Leo or take him abroad with you."
Ayla replied, "Grandpa, I understand."
Garry said, "I need to look at some documents now. You can go."
"Okay."
As she turned around, Ayla's expression turned cold, and her hands clenched involuntarily.
It seemed her plan could be put into action.
Thanks to Garry's ruthlessness, she wouldn't feel too guilty when she made her move.
On the other side, in the living room of Leo's villa, the lawyer handed him the divorce agreement, "Mr. Wendy, this is the divorce agreement. Please check if there are any issues. If not, I will send it to Ms. Bridges."
Leo took the agreement, flipped through it, and then handed it back to the lawyer, "It's fine. If she agrees to give up custody of the child, she can have an additional fifty million dollars. If she doesn't, we'll see her in court."
"Understood, Mr. Wendy."
After the lawyer left, Leo walked to the wine cabinet, took out a bottle of champagne, and poured himself a glass.
He swirled the glass, took a sip, and a smile appeared on his lips.
Soon, he would be free to pursue Sharon.
But before that, he needed to get rid of Seb, the man who was in his way.
He picked up his phone and dialed Daniel's number. "Mr. Thomas, I have some free time now. We can discuss that collaboration we talked about. Let's meet tonight."
Daniel was a bit surprised and raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Wendy, if I remember correctly, you just sold your game company not long ago. Are you in the mood to discuss collaboration now?"
"Why don't you check who owns that game company now?" Leo said.
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line, then Daniel chuckled.
When the Bridges Group previously collaborated with Starlight Corporation, they gave Starlight Corporation billions of dollars.
Later, to save the Bridges Group from a financial crisis, they sold Leo's game company and used the money to save the Bridges Group.
In other words, Leo got a game company for free.
But the Bridges Group not only lost a game company, but the main company was also in trouble and could collapse at any moment.
"I have to say, Mr. Wendy, you are impressive. You played everyone in the Bridges Group like a fiddle. If Ayla knew she used billions of dollars from the Bridges Group to buy her own game company, would she be furious?"
Leo's eyes were cold, "This has nothing to do with our collaboration, does it?"
"Of course not. I'm just impressed by your manipulative skills behind the scenes at the Bridges Group."
Leo didn't want to waste words with him and said directly, "Eight o'clock tonight, I'll be waiting for you in private room 1 at the Radiant Pearl Hotel."
With that, he hung up the phone.
At eight o'clock, Daniel arrived at the private room on time.
After some pleasantries, he sat down across from Leo.
"Mr. Wendy, you contacted me first. Do you have a plan?"
Leo looked up at him, his gaze indifferent, "I have a plan. Will you listen to me?"
Daniel smiled nonchalantly, "That depends on whether your plan benefits us."
"Before I talk about my plan, I want to know if you've resolved the lawsuit where Seb accused you of slandering Silvercrest Group's building materials."
Daniel's smile froze for a moment, then he said, "Of course, it was just a minor lawsuit. It won't cause any trouble for the Thomas Group."
Leo looked at him expressionlessly, "I don't want to see such problems again, Mr. Thomas. If you cause such trouble again, we will stop our collaboration."
He was willing to collaborate with Daniel because he wanted an ally, not a foolish partner.
Daniel finally became serious, "You can rest assured about that. Last time, I just wanted to test Seb."
"There's no need for such tests. If we want to deal with Seb, we need to go directly after Silvercrest Group. Once Silvercrest Group falls, the Smith Group is just a paper tiger with no real threat. And Mr. Thomas, your actions against the Smith Group were out of personal interest, not to test Seb. Do I need to spell it out?"
Having his intentions exposed, Daniel's face turned a bit awkward.
He looked directly at Leo and said seriously, "Mr. Wendy, we are partners, not subordinates. It's not your place to lecture me."
Leo nodded and stood up, "Since Mr. Thomas feels that way, I think our collaboration is unnecessary. I don't need a partner who acts outside my plans."
With that, he turned and left.
Daniel's eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting Leo to be so assertive.
"Wait!"
He got up and caught up with Leo, saying in a deep voice, "Mr. Wendy, I spoke too hastily just now. I apologize and hope you don't mind."
Leo turned back, a slight smile on his lips, "Mr. Thomas, it's by acknowledging our mistakes that we can keep the conversation going, right?"
