Chapter 342 Don't Give Him Another Chance to Come Out

The place went nuts for a second. Sharon yanked Demetrius behind her to keep him safe from David and Sarah's wild swings.

Seb strolled over to Sharon, his voice low and steady, "You and Demetrius, get behind me."

"Got it," Sharon said, moving behind Seb.

Randy watched David and Sarah go at it with a look of pure disappointment. They used to be tight, but now they were tearing each other apart over some cash. David actually killed his own dad for money. What a monster.

Tony, who was totally lost at first, now looked like he couldn't believe what he was hearing. His eyebrows shot up. He came here to read a will, and now he found out Seb wasn't even a Smith and that David killed Tyler.

The door to the ward swung open, and two cops walked in. They looked a bit thrown off by the chaos but quickly moved to break up David and Sarah.

Once things calmed down, one of the cops turned to David.

"Mr. David Smith, you're under suspicion of murder. Please come with us," the cop said.

David's eyes went wide with fear, and he took a step back. His face, scratched up by Sarah, was a bloody mess, twisted in terror.

"No way, I didn't do anything. I'm not going with you," David protested.

The cop's face got serious. "Mr. Smith, we have evidence. If you resist, we'll use force."

David acted like he didn't hear a word and bolted for the door. But before he could get far, a cop tackled him and slapped on the cuffs.

"No! This is illegal! I didn't do anything! Mr. Reynolds, you're our family's lawyer, help me out!" David yelled.

Tony's face was stone-cold. "Mr. David Smith, my contract with the Smith family ends once this will is executed. You need to find another lawyer."

He wasn't about to defend a guy who killed his own dad for cash.

"Mr. Reynolds, I have money. I'll hire you as my defense lawyer," David begged.

But Tony didn't even flinch. Soon enough, the cops dragged David away, and the room went dead quiet.

Sarah's face was ashen, her hair and clothes disheveled, with a few slap marks marring her visage, presenting a picture of utter distress. She shot Seb a cold glare and stormed out. There was no point sticking around; Seb wasn't gonna let her get a dime more than the six million she was promised. If she pissed him off, she might lose that too.

Tony turned to Sharon, adjusting his black-framed glasses. "Ms. Roach, do you still want to transfer the inheritance Tyler left for your son?"

Sharon nodded. "Yes, please draft the transfer agreement now."

"Alright," Tony said.

He opened his laptop and started typing away. The room filled with the sound of keys clacking.

Seb looked down at Sharon, his voice deep, "Now that David and Sarah are out of the picture, you don't need to transfer the inheritance to me."

Sharon shook her head. "I don't want any ties to Mr. Tyler Smith. Demetrius doesn't need the inheritance either. It's better if you take it."

Seeing she was set on it, Seb didn't argue. "Fine, I'll hold onto it for Demetrius until he's of age."

"Do whatever you want. You can even donate it," Sharon said, shrugging.

Soon enough, the transfer agreement was ready. Seb and Sharon gave it a once-over, and when everything checked out, Sharon signed it. With everything squared away, Tony took off.

Sharon glanced at Randy, who had been quiet the whole time, figuring he had something to say to Seb. So she left with Demetrius.

Once the door closed, Randy finally spoke up. "Uncle Seb, when did you find out you weren't a Smith?"

"Not too long ago," Seb said, his face unreadable. "Don't worry, I'm not after the Smith Group."

Initially, he harbored no interest in managing the Smith Group He'd been grooming Randy for years to take over. Now that Randy was ready, Seb wasn't about to step in.

Randy frowned. "That's not what I mean. If you want the Smith Group, it's yours. We both know you'd do a better job. I just can't wrap my head around you not being my uncle."

Seb was quiet for a moment, then said, "You can still think of me as your uncle. If you need help with the company, I'm here."

Randy finally relaxed. "Good. Whether we share a blood relation or not, you will always be my uncle."

After Randy's parents died in a car crash, David and Alex made his life hell. If Seb hadn't sent him abroad to learn the ropes, he might never have gotten into the Smith Group. After he became the general manager of the Smith Group, Seb assigned people to assist him in managing the company, enabling him to reach his current position. Randy owed Seb big time. Despite being close in age, Seb always made him feel safe.

"Don't overthink it. Just run the Smith Group well. With that 20% stake, you're solid," Seb said.

Randy nodded. "I'll do my best."

"Good. Deal with David. Make sure he doesn't get another shot at causing trouble," Seb instructed.

Randy's eyes darkened at the mention of David, and his hand clenched. "Got it."

After leaving the hospital, Seb finally let out a breath. With Alex and David out of the picture, no one in the Smith family would mess with Sharon and Demetrius anymore. Their lives could go back to normal. But then he remembered those roses that showed up at Sharon's place. His eyes narrowed. After Sharon called him about it, he had someone look into it, but they still hadn't figured out who sent them. If they didn't find out soon, Sharon and Demetrius could still be in danger.

He quickly dialed Paul's number. "Get more people on finding out who sent those roses to Sharon's place. I want answers in three days!"

On the way home, Sharon got a call from Donna.

"Sharon, are you planning to stay in Metropolis for a while?" Donna asked.

"Probably, Donna. Is there an issue with the lab in Aidamore?" Sharon replied.

"No, the lab's fine. It's just that Mr. McPherson took on a project in Metropolis, and since you're here, he wants you to handle it," Donna explained.

Sensing something off in Donna's tone, Sharon asked, "I can take on the project. Is there a problem with it?"

"The project's fine. It's just that the partner is Silvercrest Group," Donna said hesitantly.
