Chapter 624 They Have Two Children and That's Enough

Andrew glared at Carolyn, his eyes icy. "Mrs. Stoll, what do you want?"

"I know you hate me. I don't have much time left, so I'm not scared of your revenge. But Daisy is innocent. I hope you can stay away from her and stop deceiving her. You're only with her to get back at me, right?"

Andrew let out a bitter laugh. "Even if you're sick, I won't let you off the hook."

Sympathy was something he lost the day his family fell apart and his sister was killed.

"Fine, whether you expose this to the media or whatever, I'll accept it. Just stay away from Daisy."

Andrew shook his head. "No, I will keep seeing Daisy. Before you die, I will make you feel the pain I've endured all these years. You can leave this world with a heart full of guilt and regret."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Carolyn took a deep breath, her eyes gradually turning cold.

She had originally planned to let Andrew go, but since he wouldn't listen, there was no need to keep him around.

Before she died, she would make sure Andrew never had the chance to hurt Daisy again.

With that thought, a cold glint flashed in Carolyn's eyes.

Over the next month, Sharon spent her days picking up and dropping off Demetrius at school, and the rest of her time at home learning flower arranging or reading pharmaceutical news. She never mentioned Carolyn in front of Seb or inquired about her condition.

Seb tried several times to bring up the topic, but Sharon always changed the subject.

He thought they had plenty of time to talk about it slowly, to persuade her to see Carolyn one last time, to avoid any regrets.

But a month later, he suddenly received a call from Alton, saying Carolyn had been arrested for murder.

Seb was in disbelief. "Isn't she sick? How could she suddenly be arrested?"

The sound of wind came through the phone, indicating Alton was walking.

"I'm not sure yet. I'm having my lawyer look into it. The person who accused her is someone you know—Andrew."

Seb was silent for a moment before speaking. "Yeah, I used to work with Andrew, but since Sharon and I returned to my country, we haven't been in contact."

"If you can, could you reach out to Andrew and ask him to drop the charges? Aunt Carolyn's health is very poor, and being in jail will only make it worse."

"I'm afraid I can't promise you that."

If he were Andrew, knowing his family's decline and his sister's death were because of Carolyn, he wouldn't forgive her easily either.

He had no right to persuade Andrew to let Carolyn go, and Carolyn had brought this upon herself.

Alton was surprised, his voice deepening. "Do you know something?"

"You should look into the death of Andrew's sister. It's related to Mrs. Stoll."

"Okay, I understand. Thanks for telling me."

After ending the call, Seb put down his phone and went upstairs to find Sharon.

Entering the bedroom, he saw Sharon still napping. He quietly sat by the bed, looking at her sleeping face.

When Carolyn took Sharon away, he thought he would never see her again, so he had no goodwill towards Carolyn and didn't want any contact.

But no matter what, she was Sharon's biological mother. Even though Sharon had said she didn't want to see Carolyn again, given the current situation, he had to tell her. Whether to go to Stellaria or not would be Sharon's decision.

Half an hour later, Sharon finally woke up.

Opening her eyes, she saw Seb sitting by the bed, looking at her. She was momentarily stunned.

Rubbing her eyes, she realized he was still there and knew she wasn't dreaming.

Sharon sat up slowly, her voice still sleepy. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in the study working?"

"I missed you, so I came to see you."

Sharon looked skeptical. "You must have something to tell me."

Seb sighed, smiling. "You know me too well."

"Of course. From the time I got pregnant until now, you've never come to see me in the afternoon."

"Alright, you freshen up first. I'll wait for you downstairs."

"Okay."

After freshening up, Sharon went downstairs and sat next to Seb.

"What do you need to tell me? Why so mysterious?"

"Sharon, Mrs. Stoll has been accused of murder and is now in jail."

Sharon's smile froze, and she replied coldly, "What does that have to do with me? I told you before, I don't want to hear anything about her. I don't care."

"I just heard from Alton that her health is very poor. If she stays in jail, she might not last the six months the doctors predicted. I just wanted to let you know so you can decide whether to see her."

Sharon looked down, then after a while, looked up at Seb. "I'm not going. I won't regret it, so you don't need to worry about me."

Even if she saw Carolyn, there was nothing to say.

She had decided to act as if she had no mother.

Seeing Carolyn now would be a betrayal to the self that endured so much in Stellaria.

She didn't want to forgive and couldn't forgive.

Maybe one day, Sharon would regret this decision, but that was for the future. She didn't want to think about it now.

Seeing Sharon's resolute expression, Seb nodded. "Alright, I get it. I won't bring it up again."

"Good."

In the following days, Seb continued to get updates about Carolyn from Alton.

He heard that her health was so poor that she fainted several times in jail and was sent to the hospital for treatment before being returned to jail.

Andrew refused to settle, insisting on a harsh sentence.

The Stoll family was caught in a media storm because of Carolyn's imprisonment. It was only with Mary's support that Ewan managed to stabilize the situation.

Now, the Stoll family was in a delicate balance with Ewan, Alton, and Dash each holding power.

But Seb wasn't particularly concerned about this, as it didn't affect him and Sharon much.

A few months later, news came that Carolyn had died in jail.

Seb received the call from Alton while accompanying Sharon for a prenatal checkup.

"Aunt Carolyn left an inheritance for Sharon. When can you and Sharon come to Stellaria to handle it?"

Seb was about to respond when Sharon came out of the examination room with a smile. "Seb, the doctor said the baby is very healthy."

Taking the report from Sharon, Seb smiled.

"Alright, Alton, I'll get back to you tonight."

Hanging up, Seb put away his phone and looked at the report again, smiling.

"That's great."

Seeing his gentle smile, Sharon leaned in and pointed at the image. "This is the nose, and this is the mouth..."

After staring at the image for a while, Seb carefully put it away and took Sharon's hand to leave the hospital.

In the car, Sharon remembered Seb's call with Alton. "What did Alton want?"

After a moment's hesitation, Seb looked at her. "He said Mrs. Stoll left you an inheritance and asked when we could go to Stellaria to handle it."

Sharon pursed her lips. "Call him back and tell him to donate it or keep it. I don't need it."

"Okay."

Back home, Seb helped Sharon sit on the couch, placing a pillow behind her back. "Sharon, you've been through a lot. We won't have any more kids after this."

When Sharon was pregnant with Demetrius, Seb wasn't around, so he didn't know how hard it was for her.

Now, with this baby, he was with her the whole time, and seeing her go through so many blood tests made his heart ache.

Once Sharon had the baby, he would get a vasectomy. Two kids were enough for them.

Sharon glanced at him. "It's your fault for being careless."

If it weren't for that accident, she wouldn't be pregnant now.

Seb nodded. "Yes, it's my fault. If you're upset, you can hit me."

Sharon couldn't help but laugh. "Got it. Now go get me some water. I'm thirsty."

"Okay."

Seb quickly walked to the kitchen.

Watching his back, Sharon's eyes were full of tenderness.

During her pregnancy, Seb had taken care of her meticulously, almost to the point of spoiling her.

Seb was a good husband and would be a good father.

In the following months, as her belly grew, Sharon became more tired and had back pain almost every night.

After enduring for months, they finally reached the due date, and Seb immediately arranged for Sharon to be admitted to the hospital.

Three days past the due date, Sharon's contractions started.

Seb quickly called the doctor and nurses, who wheeled Sharon into the delivery room.

Four hours later, their second child was born.

It was a girl.

Seb didn't even look at the baby, rushing to check on Sharon.

Seeing her sweat-soaked hair and pale face, Seb's eyes reddened. "Sharon, thank you. You've worked so hard."

Sharon managed a weak smile. "Have you seen our daughter?"

Seb shook his head. "You rest first. I'll see her later."

Since it was a natural birth, Sharon was discharged on the third day.

Back home, Randy and Sophie came to see the baby.

Seeing the tiny baby nestled next to Sharon, Sophie looked envious.

"She's so cute. She'll be as beautiful as you when she grows up. I hope I have a daughter too."

Sharon looked at her. "You and Randy aren't planning to get married yet?"

Sophie shook her head. "I don't know. He hasn't proposed. I can't be the one to bring it up."

"I'll have Seb test the waters with him. You two have been together for a while."

Sophie quickly waved her hands. "No, if he wants to get married, he'll propose. If he doesn't, even a knife to his throat won't change his mind. Just leave it be."
