Chapter 517 This Money Is Definitely Not Normal

Demetrius nodded. "Yeah, I know. I earned that money."

"You earned it?"

Sharon and Seb could hardly believe their ears. A five-year-old earning that much money?

Seb frowned and crouched down to Demetrius's level. "Demetrius, there's a trillion dollars on that card. Do you even know what that means?"

Demetrius shook his head. "No... but I really did earn it."

"Then tell Daddy how you earned all that money."

Demetrius looked troubled. "Daddy, can I not say?"

He had promised the person who helped him earn the money that he wouldn't tell anyone about it.

"Demetrius, if you don't tell us, we can't be sure that you really earned it yourself."

Demetrius thought for a moment, then shook his head again. "Daddy, I can't say."

Seb wanted to press further, but Sharon stopped him.

She looked at Demetrius and smiled. "Alright, if you don't want to say, we won't push you. Now, go to school. Mommy will pick you up after school."

"Okay... Mommy, you're not mad, right?"

Seeing Demetrius's cautious expression, Sharon smiled gently. "No, we're not mad. Demetrius is capable of thinking for himself. If you don't want to say, you don't have to. Mommy and Daddy aren't mad."

She nudged Seb with her elbow.

Seb forced a smile and looked at Demetrius. "Demetrius, Daddy's not mad. Go to school."

Seeing that they weren't lying, Demetrius nodded. "Okay, bye, Mommy and Daddy."

Once Demetrius was out of sight, Seb turned to Sharon. "Why didn't you let me keep asking him?"

Thinking about the trillion dollars in the bank account made Seb uneasy.

A child having that much money was clearly not normal.

If it weren't for Silvercrest Group's bankruptcy, he wouldn't have found out about this for who knows how long.

Sharon looked at him. "Didn't you see that Demetrius didn't want to say anything? Pushing him further wouldn't have helped and might have made things worse."

"So what do we do now?"

"Find out where the money in his account came from. If it's legitimate, use it to save the company. We'll deal with the rest later."

Seb's face darkened. "Sharon, whether it's legitimate or not, this money is definitely not normal... I..."

Before he could finish, Sharon interrupted him. "The most important thing right now is to find out where the money came from."

"Alright, I'll go now. You head home."

"Okay, I'll wait for your news at home."

Seb returned to the office and contacted Falcon to investigate the source of the money in Demetrius's account.

Within half a day, Falcon had results.

The money in Demetrius's account was legitimate, and it hadn't been transferred all at once. Instead, it had been deposited in multiple transactions over the past two years, with money being added almost every month.

"Mr. Smith, the money in this account mostly came from Vesperia Bank. There were transfers every month, including last month."

"Can you find out exactly where it came from?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end, then a low voice said, "It was transferred from a bank account belonging to the Stoll family in Stellaria. I can't find out exactly who, as there's no record in the system."

Seb was familiar with the Stoll family.

When investigating Jesse, he had found out that Jesse worked for this family.

"Keep investigating Jesse."

"Yes, sir!"

After hanging up, Seb's face darkened.

He had never met anyone from the Stoll family, but they were connected to both Jesse and Demetrius.

And he had a feeling that he would soon meet someone from this family.

Then, he would find out why they were interested in Demetrius.

That evening, Seb returned to the villa and called Sharon into the study.

"Sharon, I need to talk to you."

Seeing his serious expression, Sharon was puzzled. "What is it? Does it have to do with the money in Demetrius's account?"

Seb nodded. "Yeah... Five years ago, after Grace came back to the country, a mysterious group started looking into you. I later found out that the person behind it was Jesse Scott, an executive at MK Group in Stellaria, backed by the Stoll family. And today, I discovered that the money in Demetrius's account was transferred by someone from the Stoll family."

Hearing this, Sharon's face turned serious, mixed with confusion.

"I don't know anyone from the Stoll family."

If Seb hadn't told her today, she wouldn't even know such a family existed.

And why were they investigating her?

"I remember you said your mom went abroad after divorcing your dad. Could the Stoll family be connected to her?"

Sharon shook her head. "I don't know... She cut off contact with me and my dad after she left. I haven't seen her in years."

"Regardless, we can't use the money in Demetrius's account. I've asked people to keep investigating Jesse. We should have results soon."

"Okay."

Sharon lowered her eyes, her hands slowly clenching at her sides.

After all these years, if it weren't for photos, she would have almost forgotten what her mom looked like.

And if her mom was really connected to the Stoll family, and the money in Demetrius's account came from them, could it be her mom who was sending the money?

Sharon looked at Seb and shared her guess.

Seb pondered for a moment and said, "That's a strong possibility. We can ask Demetrius when we get a chance. From his attitude today, I think he knows something."

"Alright, I'll talk to him after dinner."

"Good."

After dinner, Seb went back to the study as usual, while Sharon stayed in the living room with Demetrius.

"Demetrius, can you really not tell Mommy where the money in your account came from?"

Demetrius paused his block-building and looked up at Sharon. "Mommy, I don't want to say. And you said you wouldn't force me to say things I don't want to."

Sharon was silent.

She never expected Demetrius to use her own words against her one day.

Facing Demetrius's serious eyes, Sharon forced a smile. "Demetrius, Mommy isn't trying to force you. I just want to talk. And... Daddy and Mommy are worried you might be tricked with such a large amount of money suddenly appearing in your account."

"My teacher wouldn't trick me."

"Teacher?"

Realizing he had slipped, Demetrius quickly looked down and stayed silent.

Sharon frowned. "When did you meet this teacher? Why don't I know about it?"

Demetrius kept his head down, fiddling with his blocks, not saying a word.

Sharon felt both anxious and angry. Demetrius was only five. If the other person was a scammer, he could easily be deceived.

She took a deep breath and said sternly, "Demetrius, what's going on? You need to explain this today!"
