Chapter 221 Please Don't Reject Me, Okay?

Seb's tall frame totally blocked her view, and Sharon could only see the back of his head. Her panic started to chill out.

Without thinking, she grabbed onto Seb's suit, her eyes getting all teary.

Sharon thought, 'Thank God Seb came back. No clue what Leo would've done to me otherwise.'

Seb shot Leo a cold look, his jaw clenched, giving off some serious icy vibes.

Leo had dropped his usual nice-guy act, glaring at Seb with pure hate.

"Seb, juggling your ex and Sharon? Typical Smiths, all trash, huh?"

"You don't get to lecture me. Beat it."

Leo ignored Seb and spoke straight to Sharon behind him, "Sharon, I'm not giving up that easy."

"If you mess with her again, you're done!"

Seb's voice was all threatening, eyes blazing like he could burn everything down.

Leo stared back, not scared at all. "Mr. Smith, don't worry, we'll have plenty of chances."

With that, Leo turned and left.

Seb turned to Sharon. Seeing her pale and still freaked out, his cold look softened a bit.

"Don't worry, it's all good now."

Next thing, Sharon hugged his waist, her voice shaky, "Seb, thank you!"

Seb froze. After a few seconds, he gently patted her back, comforting her softly, "It's okay, I won't let him hurt you."

With Seb's comfort, Sharon's panic started to fade.

Realizing she had hugged Seb on impulse, Sharon quickly let go, looking a bit embarrassed.

"Mr. Smith, I'm sorry, I was just really scared."

Seb smiled. "It's fine, I'm glad you trust me."

Meeting his gentle eyes, Sharon felt her face heat up. She quickly looked away and asked, "By the way, why did you suddenly come back?"

"I left my phone on the couch."

"Oh, I'll get it for you."

After grabbing the phone and seeing Seb wasn't leaving, Sharon had to ask, "Mr. Smith, anything else?"

"It's not safe for you here. Leo could show up anytime. Want me to help you find a new place?"

Sharon shook her head. "No need, I'll call a real estate agent tomorrow."

Even if Seb hadn't mentioned it, she wasn't staying here.

Thinking about Leo's intentions made Sharon feel gross.

She had rented an apartment near Leo for convenience with Robert stuff. Now, after falling out with Robert and what Leo did tonight, if it wasn't nighttime, she'd move out right now.

Seb frowned. "Staying here is risky. You should crash at my place for a few days until the data leak thing is sorted, then come back to move your stuff."

Seeing the genuine concern in his eyes, Sharon hesitated but quickly calmed down and refused.

"Mr. Smith, I'll go to Sophie's place for a bit."

After thinking for a moment, Sharon added, "Thanks a ton for tonight. I owe you one."

Catching her drift, Seb pressed his lips tight and said in a deep voice, "No need. Now pack a few clothes, I'll take you there."

Seeing Sharon about to refuse again, Seb cut in, "I'll take you there, or you can crash at my place. Your call."

"I'll call Sophie first."

Sharon dialed Sophie's number and quickly filled her in on what went down and her plan to stay over for a few days. Sophie, pissed off, immediately said she'd come pick Sharon up.

Just as Sharon was about to agree, Seb snatched her phone.

"It's too late. You don't need to come over. I'll take Sharon."

There was a pause on the other end before Sophie's voice shot back, "Seb, why are you at Sharon's place?"

Seb ignored the question. "Ms. Lee, just text me the address. Thanks."

After hanging up, Seb handed the phone back to Sharon, all calm.

"Go pack your stuff."

Sharon bit her lip, looking like she wanted to argue, but seeing Seb's steady gaze, she just sighed, took the phone, and headed to the bedroom.

In less than ten minutes, Sharon was ready.

Seeing the small bag she had, Seb raised an eyebrow. "Is that enough?"

"Yeah, it's just for a few days."

"Alright, let's roll."

Seb reached for the bag, but Sharon pulled it back. "No need, I got it."

Seb didn't push it and headed for the door.

On the way to Sophie's, Seb told Sharon she could hit him up anytime if she needed anything.

"We've pinned it on Leo. The data leak should be sorted in a couple of weeks. Don't stress."

Sharon nodded, hesitated, then asked, "Is Silvercrest Group gonna sue Leo?"

"Yeah, if he can cough up the cash, maybe we can settle."

Billions of dollars were no joke.

If that kind of money fell on Sharon, she'd be screwed for life, but Leo probably didn't have that kind of dough either.

"If he can't pay, will he go to jail?"

Coincidentally, a red light stopped them. Seb turned to Sharon, his voice serious, "If he can't pay, yeah, he will."

Sharon's hands tightened on her lap, her face going pale.

Seb frowned. "You worried about him?"

"No, if he ends up in jail, that's on him. I just didn't think he'd go this far."

When Robert and Karen first got hitched, she got along with Leo. She thought they'd be tight.

But that was just wishful thinking.

Karen never treated her like family, and now even Robert was siding with Karen.

Sharon thought, 'Maybe I've had no family since Robert got married.'

"I'll have someone keep an eye on you. Leo won't get near you."

"No need, I'm safe at Sophie's."

Seb was quiet for a bit, his voice a little rough, "Sharon, please don't shut me out. If I hadn't left my phone and come back today, who knows what would've happened. I don't want to make the same mistake, and I don't want you in danger."

Even though Seb tried to sound steady, Sharon could hear the fear in his voice.
