Chapter 160 Can You Help Me Up?
If they hadn't gone to a romantic restaurant, sat on the same side of the table, or if Seb hadn't served that woman food, Sharon might've convinced herself she was just a business partner from Silvercrest Group.
Sharon turned off her phone, her face unreadable.
When she saw the photo, she wanted to call Seb and confront him, but she held back.
She was just using Seb, so even if he was seeing someone else, what right did she have to question him?
She never planned to be with Seb forever, right?
Her phone buzzed again. Sophie had sent more messages.
[I looked into it. The woman is Grace Hall, Seb's first love. She got a full ride abroad and they lost touch.]
[Not many knew about them, and after she left, no one mentioned her to Seb. If I hadn't investigated, I wouldn't have known they dated.]
[Sharon, if Seb really betrayed you, what will you do?]
Reading Sophie's messages, Sharon's face grew paler.
They had broken up years ago, yet Seb still had a special ringtone for Grace. She must mean a lot to him.
Sharon closed her eyes, trying not to think about it.
Luckily, she hadn't fallen for Seb; otherwise, this would hurt more.
She got up to go back to her room. Carol approached quickly. "Ms. Wright, Mr. Smith isn't back yet. Would you like to eat something first?"
"No, put the food away. He won't be back tonight."
Carol was stunned, and by the time she reacted, Sharon was already heading upstairs.
In her bedroom, Sharon lay on the bed, thinking about what to do next.
If Seb wanted to get back with Grace, he'd probably break up with her first.
As she pondered, her phone rang.
Seeing it was Seb, Sharon's eyes darkened. She took a moment before answering.
"Sharon, I'm sorry, things aren't settled yet. I can't come back tonight."
"Okay."
Sensing her cold tone, Seb paused and asked softly, "Did something happen?"
Sharon wanted to say Seb should know better, but she didn't.
"Nothing, just tired. You go ahead, I need to rest."
She hung up before Seb could respond.
Outside the restaurant, Seb stared at his phone, his grip tightening.
Grace came out of the restroom and saw Seb's gloomy expression, her brows furrowing.
Since Seb found her last night, he seemed distracted. Even when talking to her, his mind was elsewhere.
Remembering what Alex had told her before she returned, a cold glint flashed in Grace's eyes.
'Seb is mine, and I won't let anyone take him away,' she thought.
Walking up to him, Grace said gently, "Seb, what are you looking at?"
Seb put away his phone and looked at her indifferently. "Nothing, I'll take you back."
On the way back, Grace tried to make small talk, but Seb remained distant, lacking the tenderness he once had.
When the car stopped in front of Grace's hotel, she turned to Seb. "Want to come up for a bit?"
The implication was clear. Seb's expression stayed indifferent. "It's late. I won't go up. You should rest."
Grace felt disappointed but forced a smile. "Okay, take care on your way back."
Seb got back to the villa past ten at night. As he changed his shoes and walked into the living room, Carol approached. "Mr. Smith, Ms. Wright waited a long time for you to come back for dinner. She didn't eat and went upstairs."
"Got it. You can go rest."
"Alright."
Seb rolled up his sleeves, made some food in the kitchen, and brought it upstairs.
Hearing the knock, Sharon thought it was Carol and opened the door. Seeing Seb, she was stunned and tried to close it.
Seb blocked the door with his foot, looking apologetic. "Sharon, I'm sorry I'm late."
Sharon saw no guilt on his face and felt disappointed. 'Do men always act casual when they cheat?' she wondered.
She lowered her eyes, her tone cold. "It's fine. I'm going to rest now."
"Carol said you didn't eat, so I made you some food."
"No need, I'm not hungry."
"Even if you're not hungry, you should eat something."
Sharon looked up at Seb, held back for a moment, but couldn't help asking, "Who called you last night?"
Seb's pupils contracted sharply. "Why are you asking?"
"Just curious."
"A business partner."
Seeing Seb lie so easily, Sharon had the urge to show him the photos Sophie sent and ask what kind of business partner needs a whole day and night, a romantic restaurant, and him serving her food?
"Okay, I got it. If there's nothing else, I need to rest."
"At least eat something..."
Sharon interrupted, "I'm not hungry and can't eat. Work was tiring today. Can you leave me alone?"
Facing Sharon's impatient eyes, Seb was silent for a few seconds and finally compromised. "Alright, if you get hungry later, let me know."
"Okay."
Sharon nodded perfunctorily and closed the door.
The next morning, while Seb was having breakfast, Carol told him Sharon had gone to work early.
He frowned. "When did she leave?"
Seb stayed silent, feeling Sharon was avoiding him. As he was thinking, his phone rang.
Seeing it was Grace, he hesitated but answered. "What is it?"
"Seb, I fell and I'm at the hospital. Can you..."
Seb interrupted, "Which hospital?"
"Golden Gate Hospital."
"I'll be right there."
Seb got to the hospital half an hour later. Grace was sitting in the corridor, looking up at him with a face full of grievance. "It hurts so much!"
Seb glanced at her bandaged knee. "I'll take you back."
Seeing no concern in his eyes, Grace clenched her hands. "Okay."
She reached out to Seb. "My foot hurts, I can't walk. Can you help me?"
