Chapter 502 A Month-Long Vacation

As soon as the words left his mouth, the room erupted in applause.

The reporter joined in the clapping, then asked, "Mr. Wendy, I have a question from the Vertex Innovations Group's R&D department. Once Galaxy hits the market, how much of a bonus are you planning to give them?"

Leo smiled slightly and replied, "The team bonus will be five million dollars, and individual bonuses will be based on performance. Plus, I'll give them a month off to rest."

The room buzzed with excitement. The idea of a month-long vacation was something most employees could only dream of, but it was about to become a reality.

"Mr. Wendy, are you serious?" The reporter looked as if he was the one getting the month off.

Leo nodded, "Absolutely."

"Haha, on behalf of the R&D department, thank you, Mr. Wendy."

The rest of the press conference went smoothly, with Leo answering questions effortlessly. As the event neared its end, a reporter stood up and addressed Leo, "Mr. Wendy, I have one more question."

Leo smiled, "Go ahead."

"There's a rumor online that Vertex Innovations Group stole core data from Silvercrest Group's Nebula 6 for today's Galaxy launch. How do you respond to that?"

Leo's smile remained, his confidence unwavering. "That's completely unfounded. If they had evidence, they wouldn't be spreading rumors online; they'd be reporting it to the authorities. I trust everyone here can make their own judgments and won't believe baseless rumors."

"Furthermore, this rumor has damaged Vertex Innovations Group's reputation. I'll be contacting our legal department to sue those responsible for spreading these false claims."

Leo's calm and assertive response convinced most of the audience.

"I believe you, Mr. Wendy. A boss who gives his R&D team a month off after a successful chip launch wouldn't steal someone else's work. It's more likely that someone from Silvercrest Group, whose Nebula 5 recently had issues, spread this rumor."

Leo's smile widened. "We will investigate thoroughly whether the rumor was started by another company or by someone seeking attention. This concludes today's press conference. Thank you all for coming. Goodbye."

Backstage, Leo turned to Zack, his tone cold. "Find out who posted that rumor. I want to know if they're connected to Silvercrest Group within the hour."

Zack nodded, "Yes, Mr. Wendy. I'll get on it right away."

Meanwhile, in the Silvercrest Group's CEO office, Paul was updating Seb on the latest findings. "Mr. Smith, Falcon reports that none of the employees involved in Nebula 6's development have had any large deposits recently. They're checking their families now and should have results soon."

Seb's expression was icy, his eyes narrowing. If Vertex Innovations Group had the Nebula 6 data, they were likely well-prepared, making it difficult to trace the leak.

"Got it. Get back to work."

"Yes, sir."

As Paul left, Seb received a call from Alexander.

"Seb, what's the deal with Leo's Galaxy Chip? Did your company's data really get leaked?"

Alexander had known about Silvercrest Group's Nebula 6 development for six months. He found it hard to believe that Leo's Galaxy had coincidentally made the same breakthroughs.

"Most likely, yes. I'm investigating who leaked the core data."

Alexander's voice was lazy and mocking. "Even if you find the leak, lawsuits take time. Nebula6's launch next year is uncertain. This won't affect our joint electric car project, will it?"

Seb's eyes darkened. "No, it won't."

"Good to hear. Mr. Smith, I hope you resolve this quickly. I have a meeting soon, so I'll let you go."

After hanging up, Seb stared out the window at the traffic below, his face dark with anger.

Soon, Falcon reported back, but the news was bad.

They had investigated everyone involved with Nebula 6, including the families of the R&D department's janitors, but found no unusual income or property transactions.

"Mr. Smith, what should we do next?" Paul's face was grim, anxiety creeping in.

If they couldn't prove Vertex Innovations Group stole Nebula6 data, the billions invested in its development would be hard to recover.

For Silvercrest Group, this blow was worse than the previous issues with Nebula5 and the Rainbow Group's incompatibility.

No one would trust a company that couldn't release new products. Developing Starlight Corporation's next generation would require billions and years of research, during which new competitors could emerge.

"Keep investigating. Any transaction leaves traces. If we can't find large deposits, look into employees who recently interacted with Vertex Innovations Group."

Paul nodded, "Understood."

Seb rubbed his temples, feeling exhausted.

That evening, Sharon learned about Vertex Innovations Group's new chip launch and their soaring stock prices, while Silvercrest Group's shares plummeted. She frowned.

"Ms. Roach, I heard a rumor. Should I tell you?"

Sharon looked at Jake, "What rumor?"

"I heard that Vertex Innovations Group's Galaxy was developed using stolen Nebula6 data. But it's just a rumor, and Vertex Innovations Group plans to sue the person who spread it."

Sharon pursed her lips, her gaze lowering. "Until we have concrete evidence, we can't believe anything. Focus on your work. This doesn't concern us directly."

Seeing Sharon's calm demeanor, Jake nodded, "Yes, ma'am."

After work, Sharon didn't wait for Seb in her office as usual. Instead, she went straight to the top floor to find him.

Seb looked surprised to see her. "Didn't I tell you to go home tonight?"
