Chapter 556 Reporting Work to His Wife
Sharon pressed her lips together, staying silent.
Seeing her expression soften a bit, Sophie continued, "Sharon, you should really think about what I said. It might be smart to team up with them first, deal with Jesse, and then handle the old issues. What do you think?"
Sharon looked up at her. "I get it. I'll think about it. You can go now."
With that, Sharon stood up and left.
Sophie's words made some sense, but she wasn't just thinking about Sharon and Seb. She wanted Seb to let go of the companies that had betrayed them before.
Back in her bedroom, Sharon sat on the lounge chair on the balcony, pondering for a long time before dialing Seb's number.
The call was answered quickly.
"Hey, Sharon, what's up?"
"Sophie came by earlier. She wants me to speak on behalf of those companies that turned against Silvercrest Group, asking you to give them another chance."
There was silence on the other end.
After a while, Seb spoke, "What do you think?"
"At first, I didn't want to help her, but she made a point I agree with. You're fighting Jesse alone, and it's tough. If they can help you, then working with them again might not be a bad idea. But if we do, we must be cautious and never give them another chance to betray us."
Sharon lowered her gaze. "This is just my opinion. The final decision is yours. I don't understand business matters."
Seb chuckled softly. "I get it. I'll think about it. You just focus on taking care of Demetrius. If you want to come back to work, you can anytime. I'll handle the rest."
"Okay, I won't disturb you then."
"Alright, I'll be home for dinner tonight."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Seb's smile vanished, replaced by a cold expression. He immediately dialed Randy's number.
"How are you managing your girlfriend? If you can't handle her, I don't mind stepping in."
Randy was in a meeting, confused by the sudden reprimand.
"Uncle Seb, what happened? What did Sophie do?"
"Ask her yourself. I'm warning you, don't let her speak to Sharon again about business matters. I don't want her bothering Sharon."
Before Randy could respond, the call ended with a series of beeps.
He stood up, his voice cold. "We'll resume the meeting in fifteen minutes."
He left the conference room and went to his office, immediately calling Sophie.
The phone rang for a long time before she answered, her voice impatient.
"What do you want?"
Randy took a deep breath, his tone serious. "Sophie, what did you say to Ms. Roach today?"
"How do you know I went to see her? Are you spying on me?"
Sophie's voice was angry. They had argued about this before, and Randy had promised to change, but she felt deceived.
Randy was frustrated, his voice cold. "Do you think I have that much free time? Uncle Seb called me, telling me to warn you not to bother Ms. Roach with business matters."
"Randy, what do you mean by bothering her? These issues involve her too. Do you think she can just stay out of it?"
Jesse's target was Sharon. If Seb didn't team up with other companies against Jesse, once Silvercrest Group fell, no one could protect Sharon and Demetrius.
Those companies had sided with Jesse for their own interests but now regretted it, realizing Jesse was unreliable.
If Seb accepted them, it would strengthen Silvercrest Group.
Of course, Sophie had her own motives. She wanted to repay Cathy Garcia for saving her and hoped they could start cooperating again.
"Whether she can stay out of it or not, talking to her won't help. Don't go to her again."
"Randy, who are you to order me?"
Randy rubbed his temples, exasperated. "Can you stop being unreasonable? I'm not ordering you. I'm reminding you. Don't forget, the Lee Group avoided bankruptcy because of Uncle Seb."
Sophie sneered. "You're right. He did save the Lee Group, and I'm grateful. But that doesn't mean he can interfere in all my affairs."
She hung up before Randy could respond.
When Randy tried calling back, he couldn't get through.
He took a deep breath, put down his phone, and headed back to the conference room.
Meanwhile, Sophie blocked Randy on Facebook and other contacts, still fuming.
As she was about to start her car, her phone rang again. Seeing it was Cathy, she suppressed her anger and answered.
"Sophie, did Ms. Roach agree to help?"
Sophie was silent for a moment. "Cathy, I'm sorry. I don't think I can help you."
Since Seb knew she had visited Sharon, Sharon must have called him. Judging by Seb's attitude, he likely wouldn't agree to cooperate with the Elliott Group and others.
After a pause, Cathy's disappointed voice came through. "It's okay. I appreciate you trying. I'll ask my dad to find another way. Let's have dinner sometime."
"Let's skip dinner. I didn't help much, and you're busy with your family issues. Focus on that first."
"Alright, we'll plan something once things settle down."
"Okay." Sophie sighed and drove away.
That evening, Seb returned to the villa.
During dinner, Sharon hesitated before asking about the matter she had called him about.
Seb raised an eyebrow. "Sharon, no business talk during dinner."
"As your wife, I'm asking out of concern for your work. It's not business."
Seb couldn't help but smile. "Alright, I'll report to my wife then."
"I'm planning to follow your advice and work with them again."
Sharon frowned. "Seb, I hope you've thought this through and made the best decision for the company, not just to appease me."
"I understand. I'm prioritizing the company's interests. Even if you hadn't called, I would have considered working with them again."
