Chapter 588 Will Not Forgive Daisy's Actions
Darcy slammed the phone down, ending the call abruptly.
Carolyn's face fell. It took her a moment to put her phone away and head towards Gareth's hospital room.
Gage was standing guard at the door, looking just as grim as Gareth inside.
Carolyn stepped forward and saw Gareth covered in injuries. Although bandaged, blood still seeped through, making the sight horrifying.
"Gage, what happened? Why did the accident occur?"
Gage's face was pale as he spoke in a low voice, "Mrs. Stoll, I suspect Gareth's accident wasn't an accident but deliberate."
Carolyn's face turned even more unpleasant, her gaze icy, "Do you have any evidence for that claim?"
Gage shook his head, "No, it's just a feeling. The driver seemed to know Gareth was in the back seat and aimed for it. That's why the driver and I only suffered minor injuries, but Gareth's injuries were severe enough to require amputation."
Carolyn's grip on her phone tightened.
She looked at Gage and said coldly, "I understand. I'll investigate this matter. You're injured too, go rest. We'll head back together tomorrow morning."
Gage looked surprised. "What about Gareth?"
"The doctor said his surgery was successful. We should be able to take him back for further treatment tomorrow. Besides, if I don't return soon, the Stoll family will be in chaos."
Thinking about how Darcy had kidnapped Daisy and Sharon while she was away, Carolyn couldn't suppress her anger.
This time, when she returned, she would make sure Darcy knew who truly held power in the Stoll family.
Late at night, Darcy's mansion was surrounded, and all the guards were subdued.
Darcy stood at the mansion's entrance, facing off with Ross, his face livid.
"Ross, are you sure you want to go to war? If you force your way in, you'll only get Sharon and Daisy's corpses!"
Ross smiled, but his blue eyes were cold.
"Darcy, I have two people you might want to see first."
As Ross finished speaking, his men brought Mary and Ewan forward.
Seeing them, Darcy's face turned grim, his gaze murderous towards Ross.
"Ross, you dare kidnap them!"
Ross smiled, "Darcy, I tried to resolve this peacefully, but you refused. So I had to negotiate in kind. Release Sharon, and I'll release Ewan and Mary. But if anything happens to Sharon, Mary and Ewan won't fare well either."
"Do you realize Ewan is the next heir of the Stoll family? If you harm him, you'll be against the entire Stoll family."
Ross remained calm, "Darcy, as far as I know, Carolyn is the current head of the Stoll family. If the Bermad Family sides with Carolyn, you won't stand a chance."
Ross knew that many within the Stoll family supported Darcy, but a few opposed Ewan's inheritance, seeing him as an illegitimate child despite his talents.
Darcy's face fell, staring coldly at Ross without speaking.
"Darcy, my goal is to have you release Sharon. Daisy's kidnapping doesn't concern me; you still have leverage."
Seeing Darcy's expression soften, Ross continued, "I'll give you three minutes to decide. If you don't release her, Mary and Ewan will suffer."
Hearing the threat in Ross's tone, Darcy paused before speaking, "Fine, I agree!"
He turned to his men, "Bring Sharon out!"
"Yes!"
In the basement, Sharon and Daisy leaned against the wall, half-asleep, when the door suddenly opened.
Two men in black walked in, heading straight for Sharon.
Daisy watched with a smirk, not intending to help Sharon, especially since she was also in a precarious situation.
But Daisy believed that being Carolyn's favorite daughter meant Darcy's men wouldn't dare harm her.
Sharon's eyes flashed coldly, "Where are you taking me?"
The men in black didn't respond, simply taking Sharon away.
Soon, they were out of the basement.
At the mansion's entrance, Sharon saw Ross in the distance, her heart finally settling.
The men in black brought Sharon to Darcy, who confirmed her identity before signaling them to take her to Ross.
"Ross, I've handed her over. Now release Mary and Ewan."
Ross nodded, "I will, but only after we leave safely."
Darcy's face twisted in anger, "Ross, you dare go back on your word!"
"Darcy, who's going back on their word? I know your men are already ambushed halfway."
Darcy fell silent, his face grim with rage.
"Don't worry, I have no use for Mary and Ewan. Once I return to the Bermad Family, I'll release them."
Darcy sneered, "Fine, but you better not deceive me!"
Ross said nothing more, taking Sharon away.
An hour later, within the Bermad Family's territory, Ross released Mary and Ewan.
Darcy, following behind, finally relaxed seeing Ross keep his word.
As he took Mary and Ewan, he coldly told Ross, "Ross, this ends here!"
Ross nodded, "Of course."
After Darcy left with the two, Ross instructed the driver to return to the estate.
He looked at Sharon, speaking softly, "Sharon, how are you feeling? Did Darcy's men mistreat you?"
Sharon shook her head, "No, they just locked us up."
"I'm sorry, I could only save you. I couldn't do anything for Daisy."
Darcy had planned meticulously for today. He might agree to release one person, but not two.
"I'm already grateful you can save me."
Besides, Daisy's fate was irrelevant to her.
Since arriving at Stellaria, Daisy had been hostile, even having a servant pour cold water on her, causing her to fall ill for days.
Sharon wasn't overly kind and wouldn't forgive Daisy's actions.
"Thanks to Seb, I found out you were kidnapped by Darcy. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known when I could rescue you."
"You've helped a lot, and you negotiated with Darcy to release me, offending him in the process." Sharon looked at Ross with gratitude.
Ross smiled, "It's an honor to help you and Seb."
After a moment's hesitation, Sharon couldn't help but ask, "How do you know Seb?"
Before coming to Stellaria, Sharon had no idea Seb knew someone as influential as Ross.
The day Carolyn kicked her out of the estate, she was taken by two men in black to Ross's estate.
She thought she was kidnapped until Ross explained his connection to Seb and called him in front of her, proving he meant no harm.
Since then, Ross had been helping her and Seb.
Sharon was curious about Ross and Seb's relationship, given Ross's willingness to help them.
Ross smiled, "I've known Seb for over twenty years. He saved me when we first met, and we've kept in touch since. I've always wanted to repay him, but never had the chance until he contacted me about you being forcibly brought to Stellaria by Carolyn."
"As for how we met, you can ask Seb yourself. It's his private matter, and I'm not at liberty to say."
Sharon was surprised, finally understanding why Ross helped her and Seb.
"Ross, I'm grateful to you."
As they spoke, the car arrived at Ross's estate.
Sharon stepped out and was immediately embraced by a familiar, mint-scented figure.
Feeling Seb's tight embrace, Sharon hugged him back, whispering, "It's okay, Seb. I'm fine."
After several seconds, Seb released her and looked at Ross, "Ross, thank you!"
"Sharon already thanked me on the way back. It's cold outside, let's go in."
They entered the estate and sat in the living room. Ross turned to Seb, "You should stay here for a while. The Stoll family is likely to be in turmoil."
Darcy had gathered many influential Stoll family members to oust Carolyn from power. But Carolyn, having controlled the family for years, had her loyal supporters.
Darcy's kidnapping of Daisy and Sharon had severed ties with Carolyn, leading to inevitable conflict.
Seb shook his head, "No need. I have a place to stay. Once the Stoll family matter is resolved, I'll take Sharon back home."
Ross frowned."That might take a while."
"It won't be too long. It's late, we won't disturb you further. Goodbye."
Seeing Seb's determination, Ross didn't insist, "Alright, if you need anything, contact me anytime."
Seb shook his head, "Ross, you saved my wife, repaying the time I saved you. You don't owe me anymore."
