Chapter 310 Worry You'll Fall for Him Again
Demetrius stared at the roast on the ground, looking like he just lost his best friend.
Sharon glanced at the kitchen door, her face totally uninterested, and said, "Demetrius wants my cooking. Mr. Smith, you've already had dinner, right?"
Seb's eyes darkened at that. 'Is she saying she doesn't want me to join them?' he wondered.
For some reason, it bugged him.
After a beat, he replied coldly, "Yeah, I've eaten. Got work to do."
Sharon just nodded, "Okay."
As he turned to leave, he saw Sharon giving Demetrius another piece of roast, both of them smiling.
Seb's mood soured even more, and the tension in the room could be cut with a knife.
Once Seb's footsteps faded, Sharon let out a sigh of relief. She had been really worried Seb would say he hadn't eaten. She didn't want to have dinner with him or have him eat her cooking.
After dinner, Sharon was about to take Demetrius upstairs when her phone rang. It was Zachary.
"Sharon, I'm in Metropolis," Zachary said, his voice weary. "Just got off the plane. I want to see you."
Sharon could tell Zachary was exhausted. He'd been working nonstop to handle the company's affairs and come to Metropolis.
She checked the time and said, "Okay, which hotel are you at? I'll come to you."
After hanging up, Sharon handed Demetrius to Dana, asking her to bathe and put him to bed, then grabbed a cab to the hotel.
In his study, Seb was working when he noticed car lights flash by the villa entrance. He called out, "Dora."
Dora, who was by the door, quickly opened it, "Mr. Smith, what's up?"
"Who just left?"
"It was Ms. Roach. She left after taking a call, didn't even care about Mr. Demetrius Smith."
Seb frowned, wondering what Sharon was up to at this hour.
But then he remembered her cold attitude towards him and pushed his curiosity aside.
Whatever she was doing, it wasn't his business.
"Got it. You can go."
Seeing Seb's lack of reaction to Sharon not caring for Demetrius, a flicker of dissatisfaction crossed Dora's face. She pursed her lips and left.
Dora figured there'd be plenty of chances in the future to make Seb unhappy with Sharon.
An hour later, Sharon got out of the cab at the entrance of the swanky Illusionary Oasis Hotel in Metropolis.
As she walked into the lobby, she spotted Zachary sitting in the lounge area. She paused for a moment, then quickly walked over.
Hearing footsteps, Zachary, who had been looking down at his phone, looked up, his previously calm eyes lighting up. "Sharon, you're here."
Sharon was surprised, "Why are you waiting here?"
Zachary's expression was gentle, "It's not right for you to come to my room."
Even though he wouldn't do anything to Sharon, he didn't want others to get the wrong idea, which could hurt her reputation.
Sharon sat down across from him and took a closer look, asking with concern, "You've been really tired lately, haven't you? You must not be resting well."
Zachary gave a small, tired smile. "It's been okay. Just a bit busy these past few days. But now things are almost settled, otherwise, I wouldn't have had time to come."
Sharon knew that if it weren't for her, he wouldn't be this exhausted.
She felt a surge of emotion, her eyes welling up. "Zachary, thank you."
Zachary held her hand and said softly, "Don't mention it. I get it. I know what you want to do, and I'll help you."
Rebecca didn't expect to bump into Sharon while she was bringing a male model to the hotel.
She saw Zachary holding Sharon's hand, and Sharon not pulling away. Rebecca sneered and whipped out her phone to snap a pic.
Just as she was about to send it to Seb, a better idea hit her.
Sending this pic to Seb was too easy. It'd be way more fun to let everyone know Sharon was a homewrecker juggling two guys at once!
She handed the room card to the male model, "You go up first."
The male model took the card, eyes practically sparkling, "Okay, I'll wait for you."
After he left, Rebecca dialed a number, "I'm sending you a photo. Make sure it’s all over Metropolis by tomorrow."
Hanging up, Rebecca glanced at Sharon, her face full of excitement and anticipation.
Thinking about how Sharon would be dragged through the mud tomorrow, Rebecca felt extremely pleased and quickly went up.
Meanwhile, Sharon pulled her hand back and said softly, "Zachary, you've already done so much for me. I don't want to drag you into my mess anymore. You don't need to get involved. I can handle it."
Zachary frowned, "Sharon, I don't want you staying with him any longer. The more time you spend with him, the more I worry you'll fall for him again."
Sharon reassured him, "I won't. I have no feelings for him anymore. Now he uses Demetrius to threaten me, and I only feel disgust towards him."
Seeing the anger in Sharon's eyes, Zachary was silent for a few seconds before saying softly, "No matter what, I hope you can come back to me soon. Here are some documents I've gathered on the Smith family. They might help you."
Sharon took the documents and opened them. After reading, she frowned. "David and Alex haven't been back from abroad in five years. Why are they suddenly back now?"
"It likely has to do with Demetrius. Recently, David's been secretly bringing Alex to meet with the Smith Group's shareholders. Tyler knows about this too."
Sharon put down the documents, thought for a moment, and said softly, "It seems Tyler also wants to take back the Smith Group from Seb."
Zachary analyzed, "That works in your favor."
Sharon nodded, "Yes, the Smith Group has grown rapidly in recent years. If David and Alex can take it back from Seb, the Silvercrest Group will lose a significant ally."
For her, this was indeed a good thing.
Zachary added, "Seb has already made a move against Luminary Ventures Group, taking away their biggest supplier. The vice president of Silvercrest Group is also in contact with Mr. Elliott, planning to snatch the Western Suburbs project. They're also secretly buying shares from some of Luminary Ventures Group's minor shareholders."
"As expected," Sharon said.
Seb had always been decisive in the business world. If the other party wanted to poach Silvercrest Group's technical director, how could he not take action?
"With Seb's capabilities, he should soon realize that Luminary Ventures Group is just an empty shell. At most, it will cost Silvercrest Group some money, but it won't hurt them fundamentally," Zachary said.
Sharon smiled slightly, "Isn't there still the Western Suburbs project? That project requires a significant investment. Once Silvercrest Group sinks most of its funds into it, even a tiny problem could blow up and put them in a crisis."
"But if Seb finds out that Luminary Ventures Group is just an empty shell before that, all your plans will fall apart," Zachary analyzed.
Sharon shrugged, a smirk on her lips. "It's a gamble. If I win, he won't have the right to fight me for Demetrius anymore. If I lose, I'll think of another way."
