Chapter 226 Never Intended to Help Me Against Sharon
The phone rang a few times before someone picked up.
"Hey, Mr. Smith, sorry about last night. I got a bit too tipsy. When can I make it up to you..."
Seb cut her off, cool as a cucumber, "Sharon, you don't work for Media Care now. Just call me Seb."
Sharon bit her lip. "That's not the point. I'm really sorry about last night. If you're free, I'd like to take you out to dinner tonight to apologize."
There was a pause before Seb's deep voice came through.
"Sharon, I don't need you to buy me dinner. I went last night because I wanted to see you. You're making me think you still have feelings for me."
Sharon lowered her eyes and said flatly, "Mr. Smith, that's not what I meant. I just wanted to thank you. If this makes you misunderstand, please send me the bill from last night, and I'll transfer the money to you."
As soon as she finished speaking, there was silence on the other end.
Sharon sensed that Seb was pissed, but she really didn't want to have too much interaction with him anymore, nor did she want him to think there was still a chance between them.
Just as she was hesitating about how to rephrase her words, a busy tone suddenly came from the phone.
Seb had hung up on her.
After a moment of hesitation, Sharon decided not to call back.
After all, Seb hanging up on her already showed his attitude.
Sharon opened Facebook, transferred some money to Seb, and then deleted their chat history.
After doing this, she got up to wash up, had breakfast, and started studying.
On the other side, Seb hung up the phone, his face suddenly darkening.
For the next few days, Sharon was buried in her studies. It wasn't until the day before Sophie's birthday that she suddenly remembered she hadn't prepared the gift.
If it weren't for the calendar reminder, she might have been too busy to remember.
Sharon changed her clothes and headed straight to the mall. After several hours of shopping, she finally picked out a pair of diamond earrings.
After paying, she turned around and saw a sales associate leading Alex and Ava into the store.
Ava's makeup was on point, and her clothes and bag were all high-end, looking completely different from before.
Seeing Sharon, the smiles on Alex and Ava's faces froze for a moment.
Ava's eyes fell on the bag in Sharon's hand, and she snorted. "Alex, let's go to another store. This place is too low-class for us."
The sales associate's smile faded a bit, but she still politely said, "Ms. Kim, you're joking. Our jewelry is a global luxury brand, and this is the only store in Metropolis."
Ava gave the sales associate a disdainful look and pointed at Sharon. "If you allow people like her in, your store isn't that great. Besides, there are other luxury brands out there. What's so special about you?"
She pulled Alex to leave, but after taking a couple of steps, Sharon's cold voice came from behind.
"I wonder what kind of class is suitable for a mistress. Probably nowhere in Metropolis."
Ava turned her head sharply, glaring at Sharon. "Who are you calling a mistress? You better watch your mouth!"
Sharon slowly walked up to Ava and said, "Ava, I should be the one saying that. You're pregnant now, so it's best to set a good example for your child."
"You!"
Ava raised her hand to slap her, but Sharon caught her wrist mid-air.
Sharon shot a cold look at Alex. "Alex, get Ava in check. If she can't shut her mouth, I might just lose it."
Alex looked at Sharon with a mix of emotions, feeling a pang of loss. Sharon used to look at him with love and tenderness, not the icy stare she had now.
"Sharon, are you doing okay? I heard you're caught up in a lawsuit over leaking Silvercrest Group's experimental data..."
Sharon frowned and cut him off coldly, "That's none of your business. Just make sure Ava doesn't go around causing trouble."
With that, she let go of Ava and walked away without looking back.
Ava wanted to go after Sharon, but seeing Alex's eyes still on Sharon's retreating figure, her face twisted with anger.
She stepped closer to Alex, taking his arm and speaking softly, "Alex, we're here for rings. Don't let her ruin our mood."
Alex pulled his gaze away from Sharon and looked at Ava with a hint of coldness.
"In the future, if you see her, just treat her like a stranger or avoid her."
Anger flashed in Ava's eyes, and she tightened her grip on Alex's arm, but she forced a smile.
"Okay, I'll do as you say."
Their relationship had only recently improved, and it wasn't worth arguing over Sharon.
While picking out rings, Alex was clearly distracted.
Ava pretended not to notice and tried on several rings, picking out a pair she liked and having Alex pay for them.
After buying the rings, Alex dropped Ava off and then left.
As soon as he left, Ava's smile turned icy.
Ava dialed Grace's number. "When are you going to deal with Sharon?"
"Soon. You can't help much anyway, so why are you in such a hurry?"
"As long as that bitch is still around, it's like a thorn in my heart. I want her gone immediately!"
Grace chuckled. "If you're that impatient, why don't you do it yourself?"
After hanging up, Grace's face also darkened.
Ever since she publicly announced her relationship with Victor, he seemed to have forgotten about dealing with Sharon.
Grace took a deep breath, put the soup she had made into a thermos, changed her clothes, and went to the Edwards Group to find Victor.
She had been visiting Victor frequently these days, so the receptionist recognized her and let her go upstairs directly.
She walked unimpeded to Victor's office door, and just as she was about to knock on the door, she heard Victor's voice inside, tinged with a smile.
"Deal with Sharon? Not necessary. Now that I'm with Grace, and since Sharon is someone Seb likes, if I continue to go after her, Seb and I won't even be friends anymore."
Grace's face turned extremely ugly. So all the things Victor had said before were lies to placate her. He never intended to keep his promise!
Grace pondered, 'All the care I have shown Victor, making soup and bringing him food every day, is for nothing!'
Furious, Grace lost her composure and pushed the door open.
Victor looked surprised to see her and quickly ended his call.
"Grace, what are you doing here?"
Grace sneered. "Victor, you've been lying to me. You never planned to deal with Sharon?"
