Chapter 121 Will Never Betray

Tyler smirked. "You don't have a choice."

"I've got proof Alex cheated. If you don't agree, I'll spill the beans."

Sharon's eyes were determined. She was ready to use this to divorce Alex.

Tyler stayed calm, unfazed by her threat. "Remember, Robert's still in the hospital. Let's not make this messy. I'll arrange a secret divorce once things settle down."

"Why should I trust you?"

"You don't have a choice. You can't negotiate with me now."

Sharon clenched her fists. She almost revealed David's plot against Robert Pharmaceuticals but held back. She needed solid evidence to nail David before informing the Smith family.

Taking a deep breath, she looked at Tyler. "One month. If I'm not divorced from Alex in a month, I'll expose his affair."

"Fine, we'll sort it out."

Half an hour later, Sharon and Alex left the Smith Mansion.

At the door, Alex grabbed her wrist, fuming. "Sharon, I won't divorce you!"

Sharon shook him off, mocking. "Alex, you will divorce, unless you don't want the Smith group anymore."

She got in her car and drove off.

On the way, Sophie called, asking about the Smith group's statement.

Tyler had said they'd claim the photos were misleading and downplay the incident. Sharon and Alex would then appear together to show their marriage was fine.

"It's just as you saw, the Smith family covered it up."

Sophie was furious. "They're really bullying you!"

"Don't get mad. Tyler agreed to a secret divorce once this blows over."

"Really? If you can get divorced, that'd be great. What Alex and Ava did is disgusting."

Sharon wasn't sure but knew she needed evidence to put David in jail to ensure the divorce.

"Yeah, Sophie, I'm driving. Talk later."

She hung up and headed to the prison to see Irene.

Sharon stayed for over half an hour. No one knew what they discussed, but she signed a letter of understanding before leaving.

Back home, Sharon got a call from Seb.

"Trouble at the Smiths'?"

Sharon sighed. "No, Tyler promised a secret divorce once this storm passes."

There was a pause before Seb's deep voice came through. "Did Alex agree too?"

"If he doesn't, Tyler won't hand over the Smith group to him."

"Alright."

They fell silent. There wasn't much more to say given the situation.

"I gotta go. Goodbye?" Sharon broke the silence.

"Okay, call me if you need anything," Seb replied.

Sharon put her phone down, opened her computer, and entered the account and password Irene had given her.

She opened an encrypted file. After reading it, her face turned icy cold.

The encrypted file from Irene had dirt on both David's scheme against Robert Pharmaceuticals and Ted's illegal activities over the years. If this got out, both David and Ted would end up in prison.

Sharon made several copies of the data and saved them in different places before shutting her computer. With this evidence, she had leverage if the Smith family didn't keep their word. Regardless, she planned to hand it over to the police to ensure Ted and David got what they deserved.

The next morning, as soon as Sharon arrived at work, Ashley rushed over, excited.

"Sharon, I can't believe your husband is Alex from the Smith group! Doesn't that make Seb your uncle-in-law?"

Ashley thought, 'No wonder Seb has always looked out for Sharon; they are family.'

Sharon frowned. "How did you know?"

She had noticed her colleagues at Silvercrest Group giving her strange looks today. When she married Alex, they kept her identity under wraps, so only a few people knew.

Ashley looked surprised. "Didn't someone post photos of Alex allegedly cheating with his secretary yesterday? This morning, Alex issued a statement saying his wife is you and that you two are very much in love."

Sharon quickly checked her phone and saw Alex's statement on Twitter. He had not only issued a statement but also shared details about their married life, making himself look like a devoted husband.

Her hand trembled as she held her phone. She hadn't expected Alex to be so shameless. Exposing their marriage now was clearly to cover for himself.

Seeing Sharon's grim expression, Ashley realized she might have said something wrong.

"Sharon..."

Sharon took a deep breath, looked at her, and said, "You start the experiment first. I need to step out for a bit."

Leaving the lab, Sharon immediately called Alex.

"Alex, what do you mean by posting that statement?!"

"Ms. Wright, Alex is making juice for me right now. If you have something to say, I can pass it on."

Ava's sweet voice came through the line, making Sharon frown. She said coldly, "Give the phone to Alex."

"I'm afraid not. Alex is too busy to take your call."

Hearing Ava's smug tone, Sharon sneered and hung up.

Back in the lab, she saw Ashley avoiding eye contact, looking cautious. Sharon felt a bit helpless.

"Ashley, I'm not mad at you. I was just surprised."

Ashley sighed in relief. "Okay. I was afraid I said something wrong."

"No, it's not your fault. Let's focus on the experiment."

Ashley nodded. "By the way, Sharon, Mr. Harris sent you an invitation this morning. It's on your desk. Don't forget to check it."

Sharon picked up the envelope on her desk. Paul had invited her to a pharmaceutical research seminar in Metropolis, hosted by the Smith group. The seminar's main topic was exactly what Sharon was researching. Attending would definitely benefit her work.

Checking the schedule, it was on Friday evening, and she had no other plans. Sharon asked Ashley to clear her Friday night so they could attend the seminar together.

Just as Sharon was about to start her experiment, her phone buzzed with a message from Seb, inviting her to dinner.
