Chapter 167 I Really Don't Want to See You

Seeing Paul stay quiet, Seb frowned. "Anything else?"

After a pause, Paul finally spoke up. "Mr. Smith, maybe you should rethink the statement. The rumors are just gossip. You can ban private talks about your personal life without explaining your relationship with Miss Hall."

If everyone knew Seb got dumped by Sharon, who knows what chaos that would cause.

Seb was silent for a few seconds before saying, "Alright, just do it."

Soon, the president's office issued a statement banning employees from discussing Seb's personal life. If caught, they'd be fired.

Sharon and Ashley were busy with experiments and didn't check their phones all morning. They only heard about it at lunch from Leo.

When Leo told them, he kept an eye on Sharon.

Seeing Sharon stay indifferent, he looked away.

Ashley, however, was furious. "I overestimated Mr. Smith. I thought he was trustworthy, but now it seems he's just like that. He probably got back with Grace, which is why he banned discussions instead of clarifying!"

Even Ashley thought Seb's statement was to protect Grace, let alone Sharon.

Sharon looked at the documents on the table, a hint of self-mockery in her eyes.

Good thing she didn't hope Seb would choose her, or she'd be a joke by now.

Leo glanced at Ashley, his eyes softening. "Ashley, let's drop it."

Ashley blushed under Leo's gentle gaze and awkwardly looked away. "Okay."

The office quieted down, but Sharon felt a bit agitated.

She took a deep breath and got up to get some fresh air in the hallway.

As soon as she stepped out, Leo followed her.

"Sharon, are you still not over Seb?"

Leo stood beside her, looking concerned.

Sharon pursed her lips and shook her head. "No, I just feel the office is stuffy."

"Even if you're not over it, it's okay. Feelings need time to heal."

Sharon looked at Leo, surprised. "You weren't someone who comforted others before."

Since Leo returned, he seemed different.

The once sharp and cold Leo had become gentle, no longer as unfeeling.

"People change, and we haven't seen each other for years. Maybe we need to get to know each other again."

Seeing Leo's serious expression, Sharon smiled. Just as she was about to speak, a cold voice interrupted.

"I didn't hire you to chat. Have you finished your work?"

Leo and Sharon turned, surprised to see Seb standing with Paul.

Seb looked coldly at them, his brows furrowed, and a low, oppressive aura emanated from him.

Paul reminded in a low voice, "Mr. Smith, it's lunchtime."

Seb stiffened, his face darkening, and his voice icy. "Do I need you to remind me?"

Paul was speechless, thinking, 'I shouldn't have said anything.'

Leo smiled. "Mr. Smith, need something?"

"I'm here to check on your project's progress."

Leo was surprised. "Mr. Smith, you don't have to come in person for something like this. Just have Mr. Harris call me, and I'll report to your office."

Paul kept his head down, pretending not to hear. He couldn't tell if Leo was clueless or doing it on purpose. Seb must have come to see Sharon; why else would he care about a researcher's work?

Seb's face darkened. "Are you planning to report here?"

"Of course not. Our office is over here. I'll take you."

Seb followed Leo to the office. As he passed Sharon, his cold aura was almost freezing.

Sharon pursed her lips and looked away.

Her reaction made Seb stop. He coldly asked, "Ms. Wright, do you not want to see me?"

Sharon didn't want trouble, so she shook her head. "No."

"Then why didn't you greet me?"

Paul, behind Seb, groaned inwardly. Seb clearly wanted to see Sharon, but now he was nitpicking.

Paul even suspected Seb had turned his love into hate after being dumped by Sharon.

Sharon took a deep breath, turned to Seb, and said, "Hello, Mr. Smith. Is this okay?"

"Do you think I'm making trouble for nothing?" Seb stared at her, waiting for a satisfactory answer.

Anger surged in Sharon, and she smirked. "You're the boss, so whatever you say goes."

Seb's eyes narrowed, and his aura became dangerous.

Leo quickly stepped forward, pulling Sharon behind him, smiling. "Mr. Smith, Sharon didn't mean it that way. She just had a rough morning with the experiment, so she's in a bad mood. I'm sure you understand, right?"

When Leo grabbed Sharon's hand, a cold glint appeared in Seb's eyes.

Others didn't notice, but Paul sensed Seb was genuinely angry.

"Does she need you to speak for her?"

Leo's smile froze, and just as he was about to speak, Sharon spoke up from behind him, "Leo, you don't need to speak for me. I meant exactly what Mr. Smith thinks."

'Sharon, stop talking!' Leo turned back, signaling her not to provoke Seb further.

But Sharon ignored him, pushing Leo aside, and looked at Seb coldly. "I don't know what I did to offend you, Mr. Smith, to make you come down from the top floor to trouble me. But you got one thing right: I really don't want to see you."

As soon as she finished, the temperature seemed to drop.

Seb stared at Sharon with intense pressure, but Sharon wasn't afraid. She looked back at him expressionlessly, and the air seemed to freeze.

Leo's eyes flickered, and he didn't try to persuade Sharon anymore.

After all, this was exactly what he wanted to see.

Paul, behind Seb, thought whoever delivered documents to the top floor this afternoon would be in trouble.

After a moment, Paul broke the silence. "Mr. Smith, didn't you want to hear Mr. Wendy's project progress? There's a meeting at 1:30, and if we wait any longer, we might not make it."
